I booked this place to spend my birthday with my family. At a glance and a view, we were so excited. However this property clearly has a plumbing problem. We cooked in the kitchen and the sink wouldn’t drain after washing dishes. The kitchen sink water proceeded to backup to the only shower in the house. No one could shower. The next morning my husband used the restroom and toilet matter backed up in the shower. You can tell a major water event occurred. The downstairs bedroom hardwood is so warped it’s a tripling hazard.
I called the number on the refrigerator, texted, and contacted the owner on text and VRBO. We weren’t even offered the courtesy of a reply. Ever. I’ve not heard from them despite multiple contact methods.
Horrible hosts. Horrible property. I so dislike giving bad reviews but no one should have this experience.

My sister and I stayed at this rental. Small but big enough for the two of us. The beautiful views of the lake. We even got a chance to see deer in the area. The downside was the amount of steps. And yes I did see the pictures, but thought I can handle it. Bad knees and getting too old to handle so many. Another bad point was the upstairs would not cool down at all. That was an issue because of the heat we had that week.

This was a gray spot to chill on one of the outdoor decks or closer to the water on the pier. The house had everything we needed and we liked that it was accessible to some nice hikes as well as Nashville. Definitely a “ go ahead and book “ location.

The cabin needs some serious updates. Furniture in and outside terrible and jets in hot tub not working properly. Bed very uncomfortable. Spider webs and bugs hanging all over the decks and by the hot tub made it uncomfortable to get in hot tub. Tv tiny and the connection horrible. Sun room was nice and the view was very pretty but I could say that was about all. The price of cabin way to much for what you get. The lighting horrible and very hard to get out of the lake with those ladders

Everything we needed was there.
The views were phenomenal seen deer , watched fish jumping out of water in early morning.. Boats , planes!
Only complaint is you should buy a new queen bed for the master bedroom.. The bed was very uncomfortable!!!
When we rent I look for location and comfortable bed!!
So thumbs down👎on the bed!!

Lake House
This house checked all the boxes for my family of 4. It was on the lake. The dock was great. Caught 2 pretty big fish right off the dock. My 9yr old son swam every day. We saw deer every day. We used the jacuzzi which was cleaned by a professional company shortly after we arrived. Having a nice supply of paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent and fabric sheets is a nice touch. Even had a container of worms in the fridge. Would recommend and stay again if ever in the area. Thanks for a great week at a Nashville Lakehouse.

Short trip for my grandbabies first birthday.
The house was nice with a great view of the lake. Our baby is crawling and would get really dirty from the floors. The outside furniture also needed cleaned.

Great property, beautiful views, close to Nashville. Kayaks are available which is nice. The place is clean and surprised no bugs in such an wooded area. The steps going down to the river can be tough if you aren't used to stairs. Only used the hot tub once which was clean and hot.

Beautiful home on lake
The house, the view, the neighborhood and neighbors were all just lovely. I would love to visit again. The house had everything I needed. I especially appreciated being allowed to bring my dog.

Peaceful and Beautiful
This house is so cute. My family which includes 2 18 year old boys, an 18 year old girl and 17 year old boy, my husband and myself, stayed here. All four kids slept upstairs. I was wonderful hearing them laughing and talking at night before bed. We fished off the dock every morning and every night. Soaked in the hot tub while watching the sun set. The diningroom table is in a glass sunroon which was amazing for family dinners. Close enough to shopping and dining without having to be in the big city. The house had everything that we needed as far as towels, dishes, bedding and what not. We loved our stay. Just enough to give the family a little space when needed, but cozy enough to encourage conversation and family time.

Home Away from Home
We were looking for a lake view and a place to fish, we found it. The lake was absolutely gorgeous. But what surprised me the most was the fact that everything we needed was there. I was looking for sissors, a pen, a pot, fresh coffee, a pen, a lighter -- this place was thoughtful and gorgeous.

Relaxing experience
My adult cousins and I went to Nashville for a long weekend and while the journey downtown was sometimes long, waking up in the morning to that beautiful lake view was incredible. We spent more time on the all-weather porch than anywhere else.

My surcomstances for travel is unusual because of ongoing medical treatment. Pat was very accommodating. My family and I enjoyed the property, especially the location. We enjoyed early morning coffee on the deck and evenings in the sun room when it was cold and rainy. Would deffinately rent again. We had an issue with a bed and Pat took care of it the same day we called.

We had an amazing time. The view from the deck was absolutely beautiful. It was so nice having everything provided and not having to worry about the small stuff. The kids enjoyed swimming off the dock and the dogs loved laying out on the enclosed deck. We would definitely return.

We fished and enjoyed the dock. Spent a lot of time on the deck at house also. Great experience overall.

My family and I stayed for a week at this chalet. We had the best time! There is a boat dock on the property with ladders. We spent most of our time there when it was not raining. We fished, swam and floated by the dock majority of the trip. We caught several catfish so if you enjoy fishing, look no further! We caught about 7-10 catfish and kept about 6. Bought a deep fryer just so we could have a fish fry and it was amazing! Just be careful going down the steps to the dock. Luckily we are all able bodied but elderly and small children should be careful. The area are quite steep but there isn’t any way to avoid that when you want to spend time at the lake. There are several back porch areas where you can get beautiful views of the lake while enjoying your morning cup of coffee. We spent a lot of time in the window enclosed back porch. It was beautiful. My brother loved it there so much that he slept on the back porch just so he could watch the lightning bugs and deer. That area is the main dining area but it has a recliner that is comfortable for naps. Lastly, after running up and down the hill from fishing and swimming, we soaked our sore old selves in the hot tub! It’s very nice and clean. I really can’t say anything bad about this place. It’s not a brand new place or super modern, but it served us well and we loved it. We should have asked for extra towels, but that’s about it! I feel like I just wrote this place an ad. Enjoy! Haha!

What a great place!
This place is an absolute gem! If you are looking for a brand new house look elsewhere. If you are looking for a wonderful, cozy place with unbelievable sunsets this is your place. Close enough to the city but feels 100 miles away. We would definitely come back.

Calming Lake Retreat
We had a wonderful stay at Old Hickory Lake. The weather was beautiful and we were able to take advantage of the kayaks, even in November. We saw some beautiful sunsets while relaxing in the hot tub. The internet worked great, and we were able to work virtually and our daughter was able to do virtual school without any issues. The location was convenient to grocery stores, restaurants and Nashville. We would definitely stay here again!

Romantic Birthday Weekend
House is a great house for a romantic getaway. Small and quaint. Only one full bath, so anymore than a small kid or two would be cramped. Owners stock a lot of things, that adds to the enjoyment, coffee pods, toilet paper, garbage bags, soap, etc. Dishes and pans are in great shape. There are A LOT of steep steps, so those with bad knees, heart issues, be careful it's a chore to get to the shore. Ramp from driveway to house was a huge help unpacking/packing. The lock box is a little challenging to open, may want to add a motion light to help see it. All in all, great time would go back. Thank you.

Beautiful views, nice house, what a good time we had!
My friends and I booked this house for a short stay-cation here near Nashville and we had a great time. We got some good use of the dock, using it to swim and fish off of. The owners recently installed some new dock ladders which we very much appreciated, to get in and out of the water easily. The sunset views from the all glass sunroom are absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed having some drinks and playing games in the sunroom without the mosquitos eating us up. The garage was useful for us and they have two kayaks to use, which we had a lot of fun with. Kitchen was well-stocked and clean. Lots of supplies and paper products ready to go upon arrival. Owner was helpful and quick to respond to any of our questions. Just bring your swim suit, some food, and drinks and have a great time at this house! We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back soon.

Great getaway
Great location ON the lake! Owner mentioned that the kayaks and life vest were available, but upon arrival, we didn't see any. He brought them over right away so we could enjoy them - so prompt and hospitable! The place was fun for our family and a friend we brought along with our daughter. Kitchen and kitchen utensils/pots and pans could use updating, but had enough items to get by :)
We enjoyed fishing off the dock and caught a small mouthed bass! Though, my husband went down the ladder off the dock and stepped on sharp metal piece (steps were in the water, we couldn't see) and ended up getting a tetanus shot, just in case.
But overall, the view was priceless - couldn't be any better. We enjoyed the hot-tub too! Great quick getaway from home!

Not what we were hoping for
When we set out on this vacation we had low expectations on what things would look like for with Covid but what we felt certain of was that if we couldnt do anything else we could get in the lake and float and our dog could go swimming. That was not the case. While this house is on a lake you cant really access it without a boat. I didnt feel comfortable at all trying to get out of the water with the ladder being the way it was and there was definitely not any way for our dog to get out of the water if she got in. We found ourselves having to drive 40 minutes to a beach we could get in the water and enjoy. The house as many have mentioned has a ton of deferred maintenance but that wouldnt have bothered me as much as the lack of access to the lake. We did enjoy the views when we werent being attacked by Mayflies that went on for the first 3 days we were there. The sunroom was very relaxing and I appreciated the toilet paper and paper towels as well as the laundry supplies. The neighborhood was nice and we enjoyed many walks around it. To say we were dissapointed was an understatment but we just tried to make the best of what we had. You guys definintely need to fix the ladder situation as that is a huge deal breaker there is barely enough room for the tips of your toes on the top rung to get in. NOT SAFE !!

But no decent lighting on steps or deck grill very old dirty. Poor lighting worn out

LOTS of TLC needed
Yes, of course we had a great time. Being with family on a lake with great weather is a definite. But...this house needs lots of TLC. The ladder was a major issue. We were waiting for a major injury to happen. Thankfully there wasn't one. It made the use of the dock an issue for us. We did swim to the neighbors dock and used their ladder. Luckily they weren't there. By using their ladder we had to cross over lawn which has a steep incline. So a new ladder would be a great addition. The walkway down to the dock is very nice. The use of the kayaks was also fun. There were a several other water toys to use. The hot tub was wonderful. Very clean and in great shape. The only problem was the cover. It did not have the hooks to just be able to flip it over when removing the cover. It is very heavy to take completely off and on. The condition of the furniture was terrible. Some chairs and couches were stained or ripped. The sun room was definitely a highlight. Beautiful view of the lake and stunning sunsets were delightful. The owners provided shampoo and creme rinse, coffee pods, and toilet paper. These were a plus too. Kitchen has lots of pots and pans, dishes and silverware. It would be nice to have a dish drainer although dishwasherpods were provide as well. Having a washer and dryer are most helpful. Laundry detergent and fabric softener were also provided. Bring your own bath mat because the tub does get slippery. As I mentioned this house needs to be given some care. Paint is chipping outside and there was a large hole in the outside of the sunroom.
We felt this house was well overpriced for the condition of it. We have used VRBO or AIrB&B numerous times over the last 10 years( even on an ocean) have paid less and have never had a place in this condition.

Sub-standard, outdated home, not worth the price.
This space is fine but absolutely not worth the price. I found other homes so much better to compare to this home but I missed out on the bookings and for the same price. We arrived and the housekeeping forgot to clean this home so we had to leave for a few hours while they arrived to clean it. Which is a little weary during COVID did they clean well enough since they were in a hurry. The owner did at least immediately return the cleaning fee but we did lose time there. It is a very tiny space so only one person can fit in the kitchen. The cookware is mostly scratched and unhealthy to cook with, and not one mixing bowl or small pan to bake simple things like brownies. The oven light is burned out and difficult to check food. There was not one dish cloth or dish towel in the home.Grill button doesn’t work so we had to dangerously light it with a lighter.
The furniture is ill placed, cheap and one sofa is so old and disgusting and the zipper is broke so the fabric is loose and if you look inside the sofa it appears to have some disgusting breakdown of foam that is mold or dead bugs. The only full bathroom had dirty old bath rugs that have not been washed and one is a toilet rug and you know it has to be covered in urine. The door is very old and falling apart at the bottom and the lock is broken. It is super outdated and so easy to simply invest in a few updates considering the only full bathroom for a home that can sleep 7. The upstairs half bath has no ability to get ready in which is not easy when you have a house that can sleep 7 people. We had 3 college girls. There are 3 tiny decorative mirrors about 6” max and not meant to be a bath mirror placed over a sink. One upstairs mattress has a huge stain on it and especially in this day and age of COVID and bed bugs, not one of the mattresses had protective covers on them nor any of the flattened pillows. All of these should have covers and they are cheap to have in order to protect the guests.
The master bedroom didn’t even have a small end table to place things on. It has a bed and a dresser in a tiny room. There was not one lamp in the whole house except in the glassed in patio. So we had no lights in the living room at night unless using the ceiling fan and it was dim and not appealing. Lamps are also cheap. The positives were they provided coffee pods that were nice, detergent and fabric softener. If you own a boat they had a nice dock. The sunset beautiful, so not worth this price!
