We loved the experience and location of being on this houseboat. Unbeatable view. Super service by Captain Adam who took us boating and dune exploring. What an unforgettable experience.
No flushing toilet on board and the inside cabin space is just too small. However the outside deck space made up for it.

The space and clean boat house with everything we needed.
The mosquitos however the repel spray was provided.

This stay at Maggie May exceeded our expectations by far, beautiful sights, lovely people an authentic and rustic experience and a first if you have not experienced life on the water but always wondered. This place will knock your socks of. Well done Maggie May and thank you for making our stay comfortable and pleasant.
Lovely stay.

Loved everything about the place. It's home away from home. The convenience is just on another level. I literally needed nothing more than such peace. We had a great weekend and even extended for an extra day.... (It's that addictive). Was windy and rainy that weekend and will definitely come for a Spring weekend. I bet it's dope. ššā¤ļø
Wish they could have collected the toilet tank on time.

I was pleasantly surprised by the boat house - such a unique experience! It was like being outdoors but with all the comforts and more. The sunset while braaing and sunrise with coffee in the morning from the tent upstairs was spectacular!
The toilet didn't always work well.

the untidiness of the grounds & storage of the junkā¦ = disrespectful to visitors
the boathouse needed maintenance
the gas canisters were not checked & we ran out of gas on the first morning
the top step to the upper level is missing & as such is dangerous

Good communication and updates
Fun experience
Good base to explore the dunes/river mouth
Speed boats up and down the river all hours of the night were noisy and caused the boat to rock

The view is perfect.

Nothing we did not spent the night
The stairs to the boat was such that my wife with a back problem was unable to get to the boat. The jetty was also very unstable. The general maintenance was not up to scratch. Need attention.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the house boat. A real novelty. Would highly recommend going on the boat trip to go sand boarding on the sand dunes lower down the river.

We were in complete darkness. It wasn't load shedding there was simply no electricity
Nightmare of hell .There was a permanent disgusting smell coming from the bathroom .Nobody assisted with checking in .Only a bunch of instructions on a piece of paper . This is definitely not on especially that it is a house boat . The boat is beached in mud and cannot move . Major problems with its toilet and electrical system as nothing worked .Not load shedding but normal time . Maintanance manager took an hour to come out and could not help us . Gave us a torch at 9:30 PM .Sat in complete darkness from 6 pm .The owner was not interested in assisting us . Very dissatisfied

Just the smell of the toilet. If you can just change that
4.0 / 5.0
The toilet was a little bit off putting.
The nozzle to close the bottom of the loo to the actual tank didnāt work. Every time you walked into the bathroom you were able to see everything in there.. You should be able to close the valve to not see directly into the septic tank.

Have stayed here before, so came back as it is such a novelty :) Relaxing and tranquil. No one else around, just you on the water and the odd passer by on their boat.
That the boat grounds at low tide so the entire thing is tilted and at this point. Staff kindly explained that after a storm damaged the jetty, the orientation of the boat was changed (parallel to the riverbank, when previously it was perpendicular), thus it now grounds like this at low tide.
