There is so much history to learn about this house. I loved the traditional charm of the house and how well it has been preserved. There is direct access to the Nakdong river from the property. It is also walking distance from the Buyongdae cliff (you can see the whole Hahoe village from here).
The service from the hosts was above exceptional. They offered to pick me up from the Hahoe Village on the day of check-in and dropped me off at my next accommodation in Andong city the next day free of charge. Seunghwan Ryu is the 16th generation host and a wonderful person. During our conversation on the day I was checking out, I mentioned all the attractions I wanted to see and he went above and beyond to arrange a taxi for me for sightseeing at the very last minute. Not only that, I left behind an item by mistake and he dropped it off at my next accommodation the next day. I'm highly impressed by the property and their service. Will Definitely be coming back 😊
Everything was immaculate except there was no soap in the soap dispenser in the washroom.

Beautiful and private. Lovely garden with own terras with great wiew. Breakfast was good if you like Korean food. We got from the host some great dinner recommendations.
4.7
Very special location with a stunning view. So nice to sit outside and listen to the cicadas! Super breakfast. Very helpful hosts provided us with a lit of information.

Everything felt beautifully cared for, and the hosts were absolutely lovely!

Everything. Amazing picturesque place. Hope to come back in the future. Even my Korean friend was very impressed. Beautiful view from the place and less than 10min walk to look out point.

Exquisite setting on the river. Lovely and very simply appointed room. Delicious Korean breakfast. We were in heaven!

Great location, great host, everything was perfect. The accommodation is really nice and comfortable, and the bathroom was even better than in some fancy hotels.
The breakfast is amazing, and the vue as well.
nothing everything was perfect

Lovely kind hostess, she brought us tea and rice cookies when we arrived.
Gorgeous temple complex, well kept.
Delicious breakfast (way too much food for us small eaters).
Fancy bathroom.
The bathroom was on the other side of the complex.
It was hard to find the location, we took a few wrong turns as most signs were in Korean.

I slept very well, it was really peaceful and the warm floor was very comfortable. The location is great
To access the private toilet of the pavilion you need to briefly go outside the room which is a bit uncomfortable but it's the only way it can be done given the layout of the building
4.7
the traditional architecture that ensures a unique experience.
waking up among trees and water!
the delicious traditional breakfast!
the kind helpful and knowledgeable owner and his very good English which make communication easy!
the property is a bit alienated but the owner helps you get around very easily so ultimately it is not a problem..

Best place to stay in Andong, historical pavillon structure immersed in the nature on the river walk, with a great view of the Hahoe village. Extremely quiet and comfortable. Superb typical breakfast served in a private dining room.
The owner Ryu was extremely helpful and kind in assisting me in my travel schedule.

the buildings were built in 1586 and Mr Ryu is the 16th generation of the family to have lived here. the accommodation was authentic but the most outstanding aspect of the stay was the home made breakfast (included in price). The view of the River and Hahoe Folk Village was beautiful (particularly in the morning).
everything was great.
4.7
Wonderful place to stay, rooms are clean, warm with soft mattresses. Beautiful views across to the river and mountains with a lovely courtyard. Quiet and peaceful place to spend time with family away from the city.
One thing to note is that there aren't many restaurants or food hubs nearby and the Andong city centre is quite a drive away. The bathroom is also accessible from outside but it is adjacent the room so it's not too troublesome.

Okyeon Jeongsa was truly a treasure. My friend and I sought a quiet retreat to celebrate this New Year, and the Hanok exceeded our expectations! The scenery is truly beautiful, and I can understand why the first Ryu built the place as his get away. Seeing the stars at night and the sun over the Nakdong River is truly a sight~ The beds were very comfortable and despite being winter, we were never cold in the room. The staff were more than accommodating, even giving us a ride to the nearby folk village and back when we asked :) They also gave us a free upgrade to the bigger room for our last day! The breakfast was delicious too: fresh ingredients and a cozy atmosphere! I hope my friend and I can return for the fall season 🙏🏼 Thank you for making our stay a memorable one ♥️

Mr. Ryu took exceptional care of us, giving us a ride in his car when needed and helping us with bus connections. The breakfast is amazing and the scenery and the house itself are just breathtaking.

The place and the entire area was absolutely beautiful. The host made every effort and went out of his way to make this stay very memorable for us.

Spectacular location. We loved everything about this place: the views, architecture, furniture, atmosphere. The hosts were very hospitable and caring; breakfast was delicious and the room was well-equipped. They were so kind to upgrade our room to a bigger one.

The pavilion is gorgeous. History oozes from every inch of the property. My room was large and quite comfortable. I was warm and comfortable on a very cold night (38F). Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. The host was exceptionally gracious and helpful. I loved this place.

It was such a unique serene stay! The hotel is located in a calm area with a view at Hahoe village across the river. Sleeping in hanok was surprisingly warm and comfy. The bathroom / shower was super well equipped and warm. Served traditional breakfast was a cherry on top.
The host was communicated well and was very responsive. We arrived after dark. He saw my message immediately and quickly came to pick us up.

A very rich Korean breakfast, beautiful setting

The kind of place it is hard to leave :)
The location is great, the view and vibe are enjoyable.
The room is simple and practical. But a bit smaller that the photos could let you imagine.
AC is good and bedding is comfy (first time trying this).
Bathroom is very modern. it is separated but not a problem and we were informed before.
Water bottle are provided in the room as well as quality instant coffee and tea.
Breakfast was really good, with stunning tea.
Useful information sent to us before we get there, about the place and activities around.
Quite expensive

The place is beautiful! It is pretty impressive since it is a historical residence that it is so well preserved. It has good bathroom, and the floor mattress was VERY comfortable. It is close to the Hahoe folk village, that you can see the village from the back of the residence and we got to watch the fireworks show from there. Really great experience. The breakfast was also a plus. Really tasty and interesting.
4.7
The treatment was unique and incredible. The place is surrounded by just nature sounds and gives a peaceful state of mind. Every corner is detailed and well cared.
4.7
Everything was perfect. The room was clean and beautiful, it felt like a trip back in time.
The host helped us with the transfer from the bus station to the accomodation.

Location. The owner is an excellent host.

An experience to stay in a hanok with such historical background. The host was helpful and friendly. Easy access to nearby attractions. Room was clean.
It did not have an en-suite bathroom/toilet, listing of ‘private bathroom’ was misleading. it was very inconvenient to walk out of room (approximately 15 meters) middle of night to use the toilet. We would not have book if we know room does not have an attached toilet.

very clean and hospitable staff :) view was AMAZING with nice vibes
toilet too far and location abit inaccessible

Awesome Breakfast, great location and authentic experience.
Shower towels are too small.
Pillows are too small.

Our room was large and well-equipped, with thick, comfortable floor mats, and a nice kettle for coffee and tea. Available air-conditioning is a nice bonus feature, unexpected in such a historic property. The host kindly upgraded our room as it was raining during our stay, and we were given a room with a bathroom that didn't require us to walk across the courtyard. The bathroom was comfortable and modern. The small porches in front of each unit are perfect for sitting and watching the river, even on a rainy afternoon. Korean-style breakfast was excellent and was served in a small, private dining area. The host was extremely helpful throughout our stay and even contacted us the day before we arrived to offer assistance if we needed it.
Not a complaint but a point of information - property is at the end of a long, dirt driveway. (Though with a woven mat over it which makes it more manageable.) Not a problem at all, but we were confused when we arrived and worried whether we were in the right place. We had no trouble navigating and parking once we knew we had arrived at the correct place.
