I love the location! Absolutely amazing! Just by the marina, amongst trees and singing birds. Very lovely staff. Kevin was so helpfull and sweet. Deco was also exeptional.
The food was very bad. Menu looked so interesting and exiting but when food arrived it looked like bad quality pub food. Nachos and chips were covered with thick layers of cheese, mayo and ketchup. Why? Why?
Cleanliness was very disappointing. We had to ask to clean bathroom in the room before we even unpack and it was still not done properly. We ended up in the challet outside the main building. It had Pontis feel to it, smell was terrible there and bathroom was not very clean at all. We couldn’t locked the door from inside. We stayed there anyway it was close to the water and we could get out on the grass stright out of the room.

Can’t fault anything.

Location. Was lovely by the water and the mariner
Nothing in particular

A place that really need to step up in terms of accomodation facilities and restaurant.
Both of them simply overprice for what they are now.
So the message is : stop overcharging and spend some money in updates.

We stayed in one of the chalets as we had our two dogs with us. The room was spacious and clean, so was the bathroom.
The bar area is lovely and comfortable, very dog friendly! The food vas good, with an interesting menu.
Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. From the bar staff to the cleaning team, you could tell they took pride in their work. They made us and our dogs very welcome.
Location: outstanding.

Location was fantastic.

The location is fantastic and the room itself was very comfortable. It is excellent value for money and we always stay here when visiting family in St. Ives. The staff are very friendly and we always get a very good nights rest when we stay here.
Whilst I understand that most bars now allow dogs; it was a tad annoying, not being able to hear what the person next to me was saying over the sound of the dog barking loudly at the bar!

Staff were very friendly, surroundings are absolutely stunning.
Will definitely be staying again

Beds comfortable, bedding clean, room light and airy. Location is beautiful by the river. Fish and chips very good. Bar area nicely decorated and plenty of seating both inside and out.
Reception staff rude, it's not often I'm lost for words. Charged me x2 for the room, which put me into overdraft. One of them said 'I don't know what you want me to do about it' Well APOLOGISE, at the very least. (He didn't and neither did his mate. They treated me with utter distain, like I was worthless and in the way. I would like to say we were greeted this morning by a lovely smiling lady on reception who did say sorry this happened, which was sincere and appreciated. Matey boy with no Customer Service skills told me I'd have it back in 4-5 days!!!! Great!! So at the moment I've spent £224 on a £112 room! Needless to say I will not be going back.

Amazing location alongside a beautiful marina. Plenty of free parking. We stayed in one of the cute little chalets outside the main building. It was clean, compact with comfy beds and had everything we needed for a short stay. Happy with the price we paid, we felt the room was value for money. The chalets are dog friendly which is good; we'd left our pooch at home but had several well behaved doggy neighbours. It's a great area to explore with a dog. Sadly the weather was wet and windy when we visited so we only had a quick walk around the marina but we'll definitely visit again if we return to the area.
Quick and efficient check-in, we were shown to our chalet by a nice young man who explained everything we needed to know. All the staff we met were very pleasant, polite and helpful.
We had an early start so missed breakfast but we ate dinner in the restaurant. We thought the menu was quite limited in comparison to the places we eat in at home but the food was tasty, well cooked and well presented. Food and drinks prices were average for country pubs in that area.
A bit of a contradiction as I love the fact the chalets are dog friendly - I didn't like the vinyl flooring in the bedroom area. I totally understand the need for it with muddy dog paws but it was cold and hard walking about in bare feet. I'll bring my slippers next time!

The Pike and Eel clearly has a history as it’s a lovely old building, but has been beautifully renovated. The staff were helpful and welcoming and the setting was just gorgeous with views of the river. Delicious, generous, breakfast.

Breakfast was expensive for what it was location was good
Food was very average and pricy , bathroom was open plan no privacy when useing the toilet, bath was a roll top type to high and deep to get in and out of as we are in our mid 70s , bath steps are not set out equally and tap fell off the bath taps , needs to be replaced with a walk in shower. Room requires decorating rather than being patched up .

Everything shouting this place is fantastic
Only 1 thing I would say could need a bit of attention was the restaurant menu, not a great variety, the food we did have was lovely but could do with a few more dishes added

Location
Chalet was well equipped. For some reason radiators not working and only one electric heater supplied. A cold night & therefore a bit chilly. Also electric went off at 8.30am

The setting is nice, quiet and off the beaten track .There are walks along the river or close to the river Ouse in two directions and not really far to drive to St Ives for an interesting visit. Perhaps they should have a map in reception as staff could not quite give us direction on where walks were really. Simple map would surfice as there is also a nice board outside where the walk starts up the road where you enter the property, telling the history, and options to walk.
Think , as with all establishments , cleaners should be trained to look up and not just down. Many places we visit and not isolating The Pike and EEL , there always seem to be cobwebs near the ceilings etc which with one extension of the arm and vacumm, could be gone .
Would have liked a slightly more affordable breakfast being on offer as a little pricey compared to other estblishments in nearby town, St Ives. Would have happilly ate ate the Pike if it was less than £10 per person - Suggest £8 hits the gap...

Good location, nice & quiet, good breakfast, friendly, helpful staff.
Food was good however lunch & evening menu options were limited.
The restaurant is set up for large numbers so lacks character for dining couples however we were offered the option to eat in the bar area which is very cosy.

Warm comfortable chalet. Really quiet. Great that Netflix was free. Nice views and walks.
It was dusty in places though mostly clean. Breakfast was expensive, particularly so if all you wanted was toast and coffee.

A great hotel, staff very helpful and the place was spotless. Good value for money, highly recommended.
