Excellent host in Robertson, very knowledgeable about the town and sourounding area. Good breakfast with gluten free saisages and bread provided, very quite room and only 150 metres from station. Town only a 10 minute walk in either direction. Would stay there again

We arrived by train, and realized Ferintosh is directly across the road from the station, in a row of stately Victorian red sandstone elegant homes. Such a joy!
Our host Robertson was waiting for us, answering the door and chatting amiably with us in the lovely entry hall. He carried our luggage up the stairs, and we settled in our cozy room.
Town is an easy 10 minute walk, and has all the medieval- to- Victorian architectural charm we hoped for, plus two old bridges over the River Nith. Must not forget all the Robert Burns sites, the wonderful museum in a former windmill, junk shops, chip shops, stairs and river walk. Lovely town
Breakfast is cooked and served by "himself" and is very good.
Robertson has a generous supply of information and maps, plus dog treats and towels, and brownies to borrow.
We sat in the front garden after a full day, drinking tea. Completely satisfying.
Nothing.

Beautiful old building, lovely garden area at the front of the house. Fabulous host Robertson was very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the area. He cooks a delicious breakfast and goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Older style property with lots of little touches to make you feel at home.

Another brilliant stay at Ferintosh Guest House! My dog Indie even did a little dance of joy when we arrived by train from London. Located opposite the station it's easy to get to with a suitcase and dog on the lead. The host Robertson went again out of his way and spoiled us with a big cooked breakfast, yoghurts, cereals, fruits etc. and with very good tips on where to go, where to eat with a dog.
Not to forget lovely Mary, the housekeeper. This lovely, friendly woman always keeps our big room wonderfully clean, fresh and tops of up coffee, tea, biscuits and toiletries.
We will come again, thanks very much for being so kind and generous.

Great location a short walk into town or to the river. Brilliant value for money, dog-friendly and a lovely host. Perfect for walking dogs straight across the road.
Nothing really!

Friendly host. Nice clean room and ensuite. Good range of drinks, biscuits and chocolate in room for welcoming and using.
The shower took along time to warm up before being able to use. Parking was by permit which means your parking away from accomodation, so if someone had heavy luggage or lots of it they would need good physical health to walk a distance to and from accommodation. Breakfast could use fresh eggs for more flavour

We loved the little touches in the bathroom shampoo, conditioner, cotton wool, even a flannel. There were a variety of hot drinks available, catering for all tastes. There were umbrellas available for use. Robertson was a wonderful host. We would definitely go back.
There is nothing not to like.

It's a very comfortable house, nicely decorated. Our (twin) room was big enough (which a lot aren't) and cosy. Breakfast was good, and our host was helpful. The location is very good for train travellers, as it is just across the road from the station (but not noisy).
I would have liked juice at breakfast.

The owner was very very polite.
Breakfast on both days was superb.
Excellent value for money.
The bed, it was very uncomfortable for me. I found it offered very little support.
However this is just my opinion so do not let it put you off staying.
