About this cabin rental
Discover the magic of the Smokies in this hand built, rustic log cabin perched on Eagle's Nest Mountain high above the quaint town of Waynesville. Enjoy our beautiful four and a half acre mountainside setting with pond, stream, seasonal gardens and mature hardwoods.
The cabin, with its perfect location in a cozy, secluded setting, sleeps up to 4 people. Downstairs, the master suite has a queen-sized bed, roomy closet and attached bathroom with Jacuzzi tub/shower. Upstairs, the open loft has two double beds and bathroom with shower. Relax inside by the stone, wood-burning fireplace or outside in a rocking chair on the wrap-around porch. Additional amenities include a fully-equipped kitchen, wi-fi internet, TV/DVD, CD player/stereo (with speakers in the main room, master bedroom and front porch) and land line telephone. The recent addition of a fire pit behind the cabin adds further opportunity to relax.
Waynesville has long been known for its picturesque small-town charm. You will find friendly people, great shops, restaurants and tree-shaded benches to sit on and rest a spell. In season, ole ‘timey street dances and annual festivals fill the little town with excitement, but with none of the hassle of crowds and honky-tonk typical of “tourist traps.”
There is so much to do while you’re here. Explore the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Pisgah National Forest or the Biltmore Estate. Ride and hike the Blue Ridge Parkway. Golf down the road at Laurel Ridge Country Club, raft the Nantahala, ski Catalouchee, ride horseback…or simply kick back and watch the traffic at the bird feeders.

My mom and I decided to spend a weekend in the mountains while she was visiting. The cabin was exactly as advertised and we had a great stay. The check in and out process was simple and the owner was very easy to get ahold of. I would definitely recommend this cabin to those wanting to stay in the area.

This is a beautiful cabin nestled between the trees. Views from the porch is stunning. Huge tall trees all around. Very secluded. Driveway is steep but manageable with our 2 WD. Would surely come again.

If I owned a cabin in the woods, this would be it. The cabin was perfect for my husband, 2 adult sons, and our dog. We were visiting for our daughter's wedding at Laurel Ridge and my husband and I stayed for a vacation after the wedding while our sons had to drive back to Florida the day after the wedding.
The cabin has everything you would need and it was nice to have the dog off leash and explore a little bit. We met Bill in the meadow one of the days and it was nice to chat with him.
The cabin is conveniently located to the town of Waynesville without driving down the mountain to get there.
The woods shade the cabin and keep the sun from waking you up in the morning. We enjoyed sleeping a little longer than normal for us in the morning.
I would certainly book this cabin again.
Thanks from Baltimore, MD

My husband and I can’t say enough good things about this lovely little cabin. Everything about this place was wonderful!
Pictures honestly don’t do this place justice. The cabin had everything we needed. There were also plenty of little things around the cabin that made our stay even more enjoyable. You can tell the host cares about guests having a nice stay. The location was great, super close to downtown Waynesville but was still secluded enough and tucked away from everything. The surroundings of the cabin are magical as well.
The host was very friendly and responded quickly when we reached out to him during our stay. He was also incredibly kind enough to leave us a couple of surprises, including a delicious bottle of wine that we enjoyed upon arrival!
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and have decided that we’ll most definitely be back at Cabin on Eagle Nest in the near future!

Amazing stay. Cabin was exactly as advertised and extremely well equipped. We did not take full advantage of all the amenities provided. The owners thought of everything. It was very private, yet very convenient to the area. The owners were very helpful in recommending places to eat and go. The cabin is dog friendly, which was a big plus to us. It was a winner and a place we will return to.

Where do I begin? You pull up to this awesome gate as you ascend up the driveway. My wife and I both said wow! Gorgeous cabin on the middle of a mountain. We were greeted with a great bottle of wine and two glasses. Beautiful living room, kitchen, loft. All the necessities provided. Really enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night. Minutes away from the Main Street!
I booked last minute, and the host was wonderfully accommodating. I hope to be back again!

Just got back from a 2 night stay at this lovely cabin in the woods. Communication from the host was so easy and inviting. We explored the town of Waynesville at the start, knowing that lots of rain was coming. We spent a wonderful relaxing day in front of the fire, reading and wathching movies. The sound of the rain on the roof and trees was wonderful. The kitchen is well stocked so it made meal prep easy. We rent alot on VRBO and I appreciate the little things in this rental like lots of outlets, extra towels, cozy throws to curl up with, supply of firewood, extra hooks to hang jackets, and towels, etc. Wish we had more than just 2 nights to spend in this cozy home.

The location of Eagles Nest is perfect. Conveniently situated close to Waynesville, and a short drive to Blue Ridge Pkwy, Maggie Valley, and Smokey Mountain Nat'l. Park. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing getaway. The fireplace works beautifully and having the wood provided was a wonderful bonus. We enjoyed our stay in this quaint log cabin.

We use VRBO quite a bit. This was one of the best experiences we’ve had. Mr. Truant takes the extra time to make sure the experience is top notch. This will be our “go to” cabin in the Waynesville area for now on.

Adorable cabin, very convenient to downtown Waynesville. Gorgeous and clean property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The host was responsive. Overall, the cabin was well appointed. Beds were comfortable and fireplace worked great. Only thing missing was curtains in bathrooms and common areas of the cabin, which would be nice for privacy.

We love Waynesville & this cabin was perfect! It is in a great location, close to so much but still feels very private! The photos of the cabin don’t do it justice! It was exactly what we needed for our family to just getaway & relax. It has everything you need and the owners definitely go the extra mile. So gracious having firewood for the stay & ready for the amazing fireplace as soon as you arrive! We loved being able to hook our Bluetooth up to the speaking throughout the cabin, that was awesome. We cannot wait to book our next trip back to this cabin, it’s all you would need and more! The scenery is so beautiful to walk the property, we even got some snow flurries while staying! We had dinner at Maggie’s Galley Seafood & Haywood Smokehouse, both were SOOO DELICIOUS!! Highly recommend! Do not hesitate in booking this cabin, I promise you won’t be disappointed!!!

This was a great place to unplug and spend a vacation. Close enough to good local food and shops. You can get out or just stay in and enjoy the cabin and pond. You can hear the water fall from the front porch, burn pit in the yard or retreat to warm fireplace. Everyone really enjoyed the place and the host was responsive and friendly. Thanks again Bill.

We just adored the cabin, so much so we would buy it if ever we could, but we know we can't. Loved just everything about it, especially enjoying cups and more cups of coffee and having great conversations with my family rocking in the chairs on the front porch. Sometimes you just need to happily decompress. Felt like we were in a large rustic tree house.
