The highlight of our trip.
The owner is very nice. Annie from the B&B was extremely kind and helpful. Very responsive and suggested many restaurants, activities and things to do in the area.
The room was so spacious . They had free bikes to go around the village. You feel the local life in this b&b
Also breakfast was included and self service in the lobby.
Hope to be back

Fietsen mochten we lenen. Was echt top.

Cozy and clean room and common area. The shared dining and kitchen with fireplace was unexpectedly very pleasant and relaxing. The whole place was kept constantly clean. It was the most perfect and ideal bed and breakfast experience I’ve had so far.

No indicator on how to get on the elevator. The elevator is also small for people travel with a lot of luggages

Sasa and Annie were great hosts. The BB is on the outskirts of Kanazawa, not much to do in the neighborhood but this BB experience is worth staying at. They bring all guests together in the bar they started In the town and will take you to the restaurant and show you around. Every evening, we met new people and they made sure we were never bored. There are free bikes to use and in the summer you can go fishing with them. Probably the best BB we have stayed at. Also free laundry and breakfast is a plus

Big rooms and great value.
Very comfortable to stay.
It is a bit far to travel to Kanazawa during peak hours.

Sasa and Annie are the best hosts ever! The house and the rooms are so nice, they even showed us around and brought us to a nice restaurant as everything nearby was closed… we will not forget this great experience :) Beautiful japanese style room also

Although it is classed as a B&B it was more comfortable than many hotels I have stayed in.
Room and bed were very comfortable, quiet, pleasant.
They have a deal with the cafe at the station for breakfasts and the local public baths, bicycles to use, self catering kitchen options, The owner really took care of us, recommending and booking restaurants etc.
It's a bit confusing what you are actually booking, because they have a few properties dotted around Mikawa, don't let that put you off,

The staff was accommodating when we arrived. He went above and beyond to pick my family up when they arrived 10 min away from the home.
Extra keys to our room were left in an open area which anyone whom walked in could access.

Excellent place to stay. Staff are super friendly, they can help you make your itinerary more efficient or make suggestions of best spots to visit. It is close to the train station and from there you can move to Kanazawa, almost at any time of the day; as well the town is very beautiful and peaceful.
Where you will sleep is also super clean

We had a cottage to ourselves with a small kitchen and two sleeping areas, one up in loft. The cottage was perfect. There was a simple, assemble your own breakfast every morning. The hosts were friendly and helpful --- when the wifi didn't work for me, they figured out how to get it to work. They gave us a quick tour of the area upon arrival so that we knew where the beach was, where the grocery store was, etc. There were free bikes we could use to go visit the gorgeous temple nearby and go to the beach. If we'd had more time we would have gone fishing (rods available for free) and were the weather cooler we would have gone to the (free) hot springs. They also arranged for us and some other guests to go to a local restaurant in a different area for a delightful meal of grilled fish. I would definitely come back!
It's a 20 minute train ride from Kanzawa. We were totally fine with this and it's not surprising that this was the "price to pay" for a quiet, sightly rural-feeling, place to visit. Just wanted to flag this in case someone thought they were looking at a place in downtown Kanizawa.

Our stay at Mikawa B&B was an absolute highlight of our vacation! Sasa and Annie's warm hospitality made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Their genuine kindness and helpfulness in providing recommendations for local gems—be it cafes, bars, shops, or places to visit—enhanced our entire experience in the area. The beauty of their B&B is truly exceptional, and it stands out as the best among the more than 10 places we stayed at during our Japan trip. The attention to detail, the comfort, and the care they put into every aspect of our stay was remarkable. A heartfelt thank you to Sasa and Annie for creating a haven of comfort and making our stay unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a perfect blend of hospitality, aesthetics, and local insights!

The B&B has a great location next to the Mikawa station and to the main beaches! Annie and Sasa are amazing. Annie is super kind, very smiley and helpful, Sasa is a local boy who can let you live a Japanese dinner experience that is highly recommended! Plus: free bicycle and laundry.

Everything! Very comfortable and petty much perfect for a long weekend stay. A great base for a cycling or open water swimming holiday. Some surprisingly good restaurants and bars close by but choices are limited.
Not a thing.

If you want to stay at a very friendly place with very friendly people away from the big city and with direct access to the Sea of Japan, this is your spot. If you want immediate access to Kanazawa, then staying there would suit you better. This was the second time I stayed at Mikawa B&B because I wanted to be close to the coast and go to the city by train whenever I wanted. Because Mikawa is a small town, dining out options are very local and limited, but don't worry, hosts Sasa and Annie will show you the best cool local places for fresh fish, seafood, and more. They are fabulous hosts (as other reviewers have pointed out), and make the place what it is. This time I went fishing with two other guests and it was a blast! Totally worth the money for the experience and then having our catch prepared on the same day at a local restaurant for dinner--highlight day of my entire three weeks in Japan!
There was nothing to dislike. Everything suited me fine for my purposes; other travelers might have different tastes and priorities, but I recommend Mikawa B&B for a change of pace if you are always staying in city tourist hotels.

I extremely enjoyed my stay in Mikawa. Sasa san’s kindness has no limits. Excellent spot for food enthusiasts, 20 min train ride to/from all attractions in Kanazawa.
all I can say: I will be back soon!
