We enjoyed our one week stay at the Mandarini House tremendously.
The house is beautifully renovated and very tasteful.
Nothing is missing.
Our hosts were so helpful and charming.
Needless to say, you need a car to get there and to explore the stunning nature of eastern Crete.

We loved everything.
The situation for visiting the east coast is perfect, in between Xerocampos and Vai beach. The small village is so quiet and nice, in a beautiful landscape.
The house is very well renovated, perfectly clean and confortable, with all the equipments needed. The courtyard and the terrace are very nice, also.
The 1:30 jour hike through the Chochaklies gorge leads to a wonderful nearly desert beach, with very clear water.
And on top of all, the host welcome was so warm and friendly: Venetia gave us the best tips for beaches, restaurants and hikes, and provided us with delicious fruits, bread, honey, fruit juices….
5 stars hospitality!
We loved everything

Despite the very strong wind we enjoyed our time at Mandarini House immensely. It is a beautifully restored old house in a perfect location between the wonderful beaches of Xerokampos and the almost as beautiful beaches of the northern coast. The hosts were extremely nice and helpful. They explained everything in detail and left us a fridge full of local delicacies. We would love to stay there again.

Stunning, authentically restored, elegantly decorated home in stunning surroundings. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and happy to help should you need anything.
Its hard to find fault but if there were a list of what the casual cafe next door sells it would be great to use

If you want to stay in a place away from the masses, in a very small Cretan village -- this is the perfect place! The hosts are extremely friendly and helpfull. Right from your doorstep you can hike into a beautifull gorge and end up at a beach which is populated just by a few goats.
There are many places to see and visit in the surroundings ... but you will always cherish coming back "home". The house has been renovated with style. ANd the hosts had provided quite a number of things -- fresh fruit, cheese, marmelade, bread etcetera.
Really can't say .. you get what you see ... and then it is still a bit better

It was a wonderful stay in a magical place! Venetia is the nicest host you will ever meet, kind, accomodating and full of good advices. The house is beautiful, confortable, ultra clean, decorated with taste. A full basket of fruits was prepared for us and a lot of other things so we don't have to worry about our breakfasts. It is a great location for an authentic experience, at the entrance of the Gorge to divine beaches, in a peacefull small village; the little cafe next door is so cute and served us the best omelette. You will not be disappointed.
Thanks a lot and we hope to come back soon!!!

The house is a beautifully renovated traditional stone house, extremely well equipped with everything one might need. It's located at the center of a very small and quiet village, next to a tiny traditional cafe which we visited multiple times and met the few adorable local residents, who we made friends and and spent our evenings with, chatting and drinking wine.
The location is ideal if you want to explore the eastern side of Crete, with many gorges to hike that lead to stunning natural non touristic beaches.
We were also very happy to meet the house owners, a loving young couple that impressed us with their kindness and politeness and humour.

Amazing renovated house, built in 1935 but everything is new and shining. Spacious, comfortable, well equipped kitchen, bathroom, new washing machine, good wifi. Host is a photographer so walks are decorated with his great works! Though it doesn't include breakfast Michalis supplied everything free of charge including beer, Raki, cheese, ham, fruits, honey, confiture and more. Impressive and highly appreciated!
Everything was perfect
