The 4200 sq ft home is furnished with treasures from around the world, art, pottery, crystal and some primitive antiques. A rustic style parlor offers a large stone fireplace and a perfectly restored and playable pump organ from the 1800s. The welcoming wrap-around porch was featured in the book Perfect Porches and features porch swings and big hammocks.
You’ll have your own two acres, but still have the convenience of level paved roads in a quiet neighborhood just two miles from the nearest gas and groceries.
The fabulous Red River Gorge is 45 minutes east into the rugged mountains of Kentucky. And 45 minutes North is Keenland, The Horse Park, Lexington and the Blue Grass airport. And The Ark Encounter and Creation Museum is less than 2 hr away in Northern KY.
This rambling handcrafted work of art invites visitors to recall days past when time spent on a porch swing was enlightening, and a stroll around a pond is healing. There’s an enclosed hot tub off the upstairs bedroom that extends into pine trees with an outside entrance onto the back deck. It overlooks the pond and is totally private. The big windows provide beautiful views year-round, perfect sunsets and stars twinkling through the pine boughs at night.
A king sized bed and private bath are on the first level in a very large master bedroom. Off the master bedroom is a separate bedroom with a standard and two twin beds. Up the stairs from there is a queen bed in a room that opens into the hot tub room, a large bathroom with garden tub and washer and dryer. This area also has a stone fireplace with gas logs. Down the hall on the second floor are two more bedrooms. One is large with a queen size bed and record played. The fifth bedroom has a queen size bed with a full view of the pond and private entrance onto the upper deck. There is a bathroom in this area, too.
Also, on this second floor is a balcony room that overlooks the large floor-to-ceiling hand laid stone fireplace. This area has a large comfortable couch and is the perfect spot to escape to read a book.
A unique spiraling staircase leads to the open kitchen on the first floor. The dining room off the kitchen is a one room log cabin with a handmade oak table and woven hickory bottom chairs that seat 12 comfortably.

We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities of this site. It was well appointed and provided a very comfortable retreat. The history of the building and creativity in incorporating three original log cabins into the design was intriguing and lent a sense of charm and tranquility that was truly unique.

Although it wasn't secluded the way i imagined it would be, it is an amazing property. Perfect spot for our family to meet up at and relax.

Extended family annual vacation. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and clean. The common rooms were big enough for family dinners and nightly games. Location was great for quick trips to grocery store or shopping mall. The ponds were well stocked too. We truly enjoyed our trip.

Martin Manor was a great place for our group of 5 couples and 1 single to stay for our 50th college reunion. There was space galore and a beautiful view of the lake/pond. Even though there was a hot tub and also activities at the lake, we really did not have time to use them. My husband and I did enjoy the paddle boats on the last day. There are two sets of stairs leading upstairs which really helped with our group. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, plates and dinnerware, although I forgot to look in the island storage the first day! The dining room table could accommodate 8-12 people. The king suite on the first floor was very roomy. A smaller bedroom with a double and 2 twins opened into that room. There were three bedrooms with queens upstairs. The 6th bedroom was actually a living room but could become a bedroom with the use of an air mattress or fold out couch. It was a beautiful place for our reunion. The owner was next door and very helpful when we had questions.

We had a wonderful time. The house and grounds were beautiful and great for the family outing. The pond, fire pit, home game room, two dachshunds and the horses were great, while I did not catch the bass 😀 my son in law and grandson did 😀. I will catch him next time. It was a great multigenerational home. The host family was very attentive and helpful and friendly. I’d recommend this home to anyone seeking a nice country experience.

We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed what the place offered. It was in the 90s each day, but the wrap around porch offered quality shade no matter the time of day. The house had everything we needed. Despite the area offering so many things, we just stayed on site and had a blast catching up and playing games. The pond produced several nice sized bass. We'll be back!

We had 10 of us that stayed here in the cabin for my son's wedding in richmond. What an awesome and beautiful place!! John and Jennifer were extremely responsive to any of our questions and quick to get back with us. They stopped by to see us while we were there and they were so kind. The place was extremely clean and well taken care of. So many awesome amenities. We will absolutely come back to this cabin if we are ever in the area again. Absolutely loved the swings and wrap around porch and the beautiful view of the lake. Very calming during hectic preparations for a wedding. Highly recommend!

This was a great place to stay with the family.
We needed a large home to stay in because we live in different states and wanted to vacation together in a peaceful atmosphere.
Enjoyed the wrap around porches and swings.
The fire pit area and BBQ pit was good for us because we like to cook outdoors and roast marshmallows.
Paddle boats and fishing in the pond was fun. Wish the pond didn’t have to be treated. Although the children probably wouldn’t swim in it anyway.
We try to leave places in better shape than when we came. Could use a little spring cleaning. But overall it was a great place to stay. Thanks to the host family for their hospitality. We enjoyed our stay!

It was absolutely the most beautiful place. It was even better than in the pictures. The cabin and the property was just perfect for our trip! We saw the Northern Lights while we were out by the campfire fire. It was truly amazing! We will definitely return!!!

From the listing it’s so nice, but in person it’s amazing! The host is so accommodating and responsive. Really love the place and will be back! We also have someone on crutches with us and she got around so well and we didn’t run into any issues. Such a beautiful property!

We had to gather from various parts of the country for a funeral in Richmond, Kentucky, and were in search of accommodation for our group. This log cabin on VRBO turned out to be the ideal choice for our party of 9. It provided the perfect balance of staying together while enjoying individual rooms, beds, and bathrooms.
The cabin facilitated our needs perfectly, allowing us to share meals and engage in board games we brought along. The picturesque surroundings added to the charm, and we even had the delightful opportunity to feed apples to the horses. We unanimously agreed that if we ever find ourselves back in Richmond, this would be our go-to place without a doubt.
Our experience was made even better by the fantastic host who was a pleasure to work with. A big thank you for hosting us and making our stay so memorable!

We stayed at the log cabin for our yearly family vacation! We had plenty to do at the house without even leaving! Fishing, pedal boating, ping pong, foosball, swinging on the many porch swings, hot tub, and feeding Flag the horse. It was a very relaxing week! It is also close to Red River Gorge area and many other activities within about an hour drive. Great communication from the owners and quick to make sure our stay was comfortable!

We had a great stay at John’s house. It is a really fun house with a beautiful wrap around porch, a nice backyard and a pond you can paddle boat on.
A couple notes:
- If you have significant mold allergies you probably want to avoid this house. It is old and in a humid climate. We had a member of our group that ended up having to get a hotel because the mold smell was too bad, but she is very sensitive to it.
- You technically can swim in the pond, but I wouldn’t recommend on planning on it. It is great for paddle boating on, but it has a lot of algae.
- The house is in a rural area which comes with its positives and negatives. The outside furniture was less than ideal cleanliness wise because it seems the birds tend to like to sit on it to do their business on the regular. So just be prepared to clean it if that kind of thing bothers you.

It was a great 1/2 way point between Michigan and Georgia.
There is so much to do on the property itself that everyone could spend time together or in small groups. The fishing ponds were fun for kids, the instructions for the house were very detailed and ideas for the area were great.

Spent the first night with our immediate family (6 people) and the second day/night with siblings and their families ( an additional 6 people) Everyone enjoyed themselves and the cabin was perfect for our weekend get-a-way.

John was a wonderful and responsive host! The cabin comfortably fit our group of 6 couples and everyone had their own room to sleep in. The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay, we loved the kitchen and the big dining room for meals. It was great to sit by the fire and feed Flag apples. We will definitely be back!

There were plenty of places for kids to explore inside and out! Kids and adults enjoyed the paddle boats and fires outside. The inside of the house was perfect for hide and seek and had many little nooks for adults to read and kids to have some quieter play time. Hot tub was large and hot! Everything was well equipped and the host was very communicative!

This was a great place for our family vacation. More than enough room for all 14 of us. Lot's to do around the area. Our stay was very enjoyable just too short. Thank you, John it was great meeting you and staying in your home.

The cabin and grounds are beautiful. There were a few hammocks on the upper deck, plenty of swings around the lower deck and porch, the lake was beautiful, and the hot tub was in a quiet corner of the house. The only real downside was that one of the bedrooms is actually the sitting room off of the living room; it has a pull out sofa bed.
Other than that it was a great stay.

The home is perfect for large families & groups. I hosted 3 of my children, their spouses & children for a total of 14 of us & we had plenty of personal space & great for family meals, entertaining, playing with the kids & enjoying the porches. The kids had a blast in the pond, swimming, fishing & paddle boating. The adults enjoyed the hot tub.
We had a few challenges, and John addressed them quickly.
We all had a great relaxing time & would recommend this beautiful & unique property to larger families & groups.

Very accommodating
Our stay was incredible. We had 14 total, 10 adults, 1 teenager and one 2/12 year old and two under the age of one. Our family greatly enjoyed the whole experience. Plenty of room and things to do on the property, not to mention things to do close by. Lake Reba park was a big hit, water park, ball fields, soccer fields, kayaking, miniature golf and kayaking. Our host wer super friendly and very accommodating! Highly recommend this VRBO.

Perfect weekend trip
The home was beautiful, the nearby towns were close and we found a couple delicious restaurants. The kids enjoyed swimming in the pond. Check in was simple and we loved every second. The kids want to come back.

Family reunion
Three generations, fourteen people, a long overdue family reunion. The indoor and outdoor spaces gave us room to spread out and alternately enjoy each other’s company or relax in peace. Lovely place!

We love Martin Manor!
Martin Manor is a lovely, unique cabin that we have enjoyed visiting two years in a row. It is a beautiful, well-cared for property that provides enough room, inside and out, to gather with a large group for quiet celebrations. It is so clean, comfortable and spacious inside. We found everything we needed in the kitchen and all appliances worked well. The sound system provided the perfect background music for our gathering.
Twelve of our original group of 20 spent the night and slept very well!
Outside, we enjoyed the paddle boats, several of the seating areas, ping pong, frisbees and the fire pit. There is plenty of parking and not far from the cabin is a sweet horse to visit. We love it there, and both years our guests have raved about the site. We only wished we could have stayed longer!

Huge Property - Incredibly Functional!!
We had a fantastic stay at the property! We had 9 adults and there are 7 / 8 beds as the house goes on and on. We made full use of all the house had to offer - fires each night, basketball, ping pong, yard games (that we brought), table games, etc. John was a fantastic host and quickly responded to everything we needed.
The location is somewhat central. Richmond has a few nice spots to hit up (15-20 minutes). It was a little bit of a drive to hiking (1hr) and distilleries (we went to Makers / Woodford with Makers being about 1hr 45min drive).
Overall, this is incredibly beautiful property and very functional. Highly recommend - thanks!!

Fun weekend with the cousins!
Fun place to stay with our group and it was cool to see how they turned old log cabins into a modern home. We wanted a place to get together as cousins along with our spouses. The house worked out well and the outside space was very nice and there were plenty of games to keep us busy.
Just know that not all of the bedrooms have full privacy. There are two traditional rooms (both private); one is in the game room (private); there is a nice big room but you must go through it to get to another bedroom (more appropriate for kids of those in the big bedroom); the sixth is a pull out couch in the firplace/sitting room (not private). This was not a big deal for us but if your group is looking for six private bedrooms, this may not get you what you need.
We were there for two nights and we had a great time and I expect we will do it again.

This was a very nice location for our family to meet up. Some from Wisconsin and others from Alabama. Amenities were abundant, just wish the weather was warmer. Thank you to John and his wife for being great hosts.
