About this house rental

Our Blue Dolphin Beach Retreat is located in a popular beach neighborhood with off-beach parking or drive-on beach access. It's near shopping, restaurants and the intracoastal. The heated pool is located just off the living room. The downstairs master suite has a large walk-in closet, walk-in shower and bathtub.
The house has one large television in the living room and one in the master bedroom with Wi-Fi.
Fully stocked kitchen.
2nd Bedroom is located also downstairs with view to the pool.
Half bath off foyer.
Three large bedrooms are located upstairs with updated bath.
The 2.5-story high cathedral ceilings give the home a very open and bright, airy feeling.
The living room fireplace offers a magnificent focal point. The large front kitchen wing has two expansive dining areas, stainless appliances, granite countertops, tall cabinets, and a breakfast bar.

The St. Augustine and St Johns County area have a great variety of golf courses for players of every level and skill.

The house is located 12 minutes from downtown and just a short drive to the beach. Our beautiful beach offers access to 4x4 vehicles and public free parking. There are bicycles for rent, as well, nearby. Butler Beach, where this house is located, is known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the northeast of Florida. It’s an expansive white powder beach! You’ll find fisherman, bikers when the tide recedes, walkers, surfers, kite boarders, shell gatherers, and of course sun bathers! St. Augustine city center, only 10 minutes north, is the most ancient, gorgeous city in Florida...and America for that matter! It hosts restaurants, stunning historic churches, some of the finest art galleries and a myriad of chic boutique shops. The first Friday of every month features an Art Walk, where some galleries even serve refreshments and stay open in the evening. As you walk cobble stone streets you have opportunity to explore history all around you, often hearing church bells. You can sight see through horse and buggy or trolley tours, or just shop til you drop! You will want to return year after year! Make sure to head downtown to go on one of our Ghost Tours or to grab a bite to eat at our buzzing restaurant district on the water. Afterwards, return to the quiet beach neighborhood where you can stargaze the night away!

Pets and Service Animals: You must let us know if you are bringing an animal to the home, even if it is a service animal! It's important to let the cleaners know. Up to 2 dogs are allowed with a nonrefundable pet fee. They must be less than 50lbs each and no aggressive breeds. NO CATS! Please do not allow your dogs to jump up onto the beds or couches. If the dogs are accustomed to being allowed on the furniture at home, please bring blankets to protect the surfaces. If you forget to bring blankets, let us know and we will provide you with some. If you bring a pet and do not tell us or pay the fee, we will charge your damage deposit for the pet fee plus $100 for the unexpected extra services required to clean the house.

The pool heater thermostat is set to a temperature between 78 and 85 degrees F, depending on the time of the year. If the daytime air temp doesn't get above 58 degrees the pool will have a difficult time staying heated. Our pool technician comes on Tuesdays to check the chemicals and Fridays to clean. Our lawn/landscape professional comes on Wednesdays. These dates are subject to change based on weather or other factors, but in general that is when they are scheduled.

Per St Johns County regulations, only ten people are allowed per rental, not counting children 12-years-old or younger. That means this property is allowed up to 10 adults and the rest of the guests must be 12 and under.

The cleaning company provides a limited amount of basic necessities (toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher/laundry soap, etc.) to get you started, you will want to bring some with you. Garbage and recycling must be taken out to the street Sunday night for Monday morning pickup.

We don't offer refunds or reschedule stays during hurricane season, even if there is an evacuation order. Please purchase trip insurance for your stay if this is a concern.

EV Charging: There is a fee of $5 per day if you will be charging an electric vehicle at the home.

Our family visited Butler Beach for a quick getaway before school started. The house, location, pool, beach and attentiveness of property host was amazing!! David was quick to respond to our questions and made sure we were taken care of. The dog-friendly beach was enjoyed by our family pooch. Beach was a few minute walk, so everyone had a great time!!

Everything about this property was wonderful. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, etc. The pool was great for a swim anytime we wanted and the beds were comfortable. The location was close enough to the beach to walk, but we choose this area because you can drive right up onto the beach and set up your site without having to carry all your stuff from the house. This is a great house for your family to stay and we plan on returning to this house in the future.

We stayed at the Blue Dolphin rental for three nights. There was plenty of space for a large family and our kids really loved the pool. The neighborhood was conveniently located near the beach and stores/restaurants (dollar general and publix are just a few minutes away). The neighborhood was safe, secure and we had zero issues. We are overly observant in regards to safety concerns as we have both served in law enforcement capacities and we would stay at this location again.

The location of the house was good. It was close to the beach and places to eat. Our family was in town for the weekend and we wanted to be at the beach. There were two tvs downstairs and none ujpstairs, even though there were three bedrooms upstairs. The house was not clean. There was a pair of underwear and pants under the sink in the downstairs bathroom. The lower kitchen cabinets were not clean. The fan in the living room had a lot of dust on the fan blades. The couches in the living room need to be replaced due to wear. The pool needs to be remarcited. The marcite is flaking off the pool. There were no extra towels provided. Our stay was for three nights. We would not stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay so much. The neighborhood was quiet and the home was peaceful. The pool looks small but amazing how they made it to be a perfect swimming pool. The side yard for my dog was perfect. Our hosts were great and very helpful and friendly, although we were only 2 streets from the ocean we didn’t explore much as the point was to just do nothing and it was GREAT. The home was perfectly suited for 7 people. Never felt overcrowded. We lived the pool - perfect after being in the sun and salty water all day. This property was VERY clean, which was very appreciated. Overall we plan to come back next year for another beach and fishing trip, and hope this property is available to rent when we do!

We had a great time. The pool was a hit with our adult children and thier spouses. Our granddaughter enjoyed the pool also. The beach was fantastic. We went to a few restaurants 2 were hits other one not so great. We each went separate ways sight seeing.But the over all experience was fabulous. Look for a return stay with you again

We had everything we needed to have a great vacation celebrating the graduation of our daughter from high school—many lizards for our 12 year old to enjoy outside, many great beaches to visit, many fun activities to experience (airboat ride, alligator park, etc.), and a beautiful, spacious and clean house with a pool to enjoy! We had a wonderful time at the Blue Dolphin house retreat! The house was very spacious, clean, and well- maintained. The owners were very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions we had. We had all the kitchen appliances and utensils we needed. The house is very close to the beach and the kids loved swimming in the heated pool. We would recommend this house to any further visitors! The house was ready prior to our 4pm check-in. We had (7) people and (2) dogs, we did not feel overcrowded with more than enough room for additional guests. The house was spacious with a nice layout. Fully fenced in yard and pool deck, was great for our dogs as we had no fear of them getting out. Neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. We had (1) issue with the upstairs shower not working. Owners came out within the hour and repaired it the following morning once stores were open, excellent response and service. Owners checked in with us to ensure all was well and did everything they could to provide a comfortable experience. I would gladly stay again and recommend this listing to anyone with a family and dogs.

Beautiful home with tasteful beach house decor. The house was clean and stocked with basic necessities (i.e., hand soap, shampoo) that were much appreciated. The pool was heated and in excellent condition (and there was a safety gate for children from the house to the pool). The owners were pleasant to communicate with. Loved that the beach was only a 10 minute walk away and the house was in a quiet neighborhood. Great family memories were made here! Highly recommend this house for your next vacation!

This property is close to a lovely beach, restaurants, grocery stores. It is a very easy drive to downtown St. Augustine. We felt like we could get to all of our activities very easily. The house had plenty of room for all of us and had a better stocked kitchen then most rentals I have stayed in. The management responded quickly with any questions I had and sent polite reminders for trash day and check out day. I would say everything went smoothly and I would 100% stay here again.

Very nice house with lots of room convenient to downtown and local restaurants. After the pool heated up it was very nice. The washer and dryer was a very nice touch especially for extended stays. I would highly recommend this property especially for 10 people or more.
