Nice hotel, great location

Staff were very friendly, room was clean and quite large with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was good and the location perfect.

Would have been nice to have a tea/coffee making facility in the room, but it didn't detract from the overall pleasure of staying there.

Charmantes Altstadthotel

Sehr schönes, charmantes Hotel in bester Altstadtlage, direkt am Wasser. Die Zimmer sind alle individuell gestaltet. Unser Doppelzimmer war super geräumig, gemütlich und das Bett für Hotelverhältnisse ungewöhnlich groß. Alles (Zimmer, Flure, Frühstücksraum) ist sehr sauber. Das Frühstück ist lecker und frisch, alle Hotelmitarbeiter*innen sind uns sehr freundlich begegnet. Wichtig ist für einige vielleicht, dass die Rezeption nur bis 19Uhr besetzt ist und dass das Frühstück nur zu festen Zeiten (7, 8, 9 Uhr) zu buchen ist, da der Frühstücksraum recht klein ist. Uns hat beides nicht gestört. Super auch, dass es (am Hintereingang) einen Kühlschrank mit günstigem Wasser zur Selbstbedienung gibt. Und hat es insgesamt sehr gut gefallen!

In den Duschen fehlen Ablagemöglichkeiten für Duschgel und Co (besonders für ältere Menschen ist es schwierig, sich während des Duschens auf den Boden bücken zu müssen). Es fehlen auch Haken zum Aufhängen für Jacken. Die Lampen an den Betten sind teilweise zum Lesen viel zu dunkel. Ein weiteres tolles Extra wäre ein frei zugänglicher Wasserkocher und die Möglichkeit sich abends noch einen Tee/Kaffee zu kochen. In den Zimmern könnte es ein Infoblatt zu den Check-In/Out-Zeiten, Telefonnummer der Rezeption und dem Wlan-Passwort geben.

Great hotel in a great location highly recommend.

We stayed in a family room and it was a really good size for our family and a very nice room. The staff were also great and offered some good recommendations for dinner. The hotel is very central.

Having a small fridge and some glasses in each room would be helpful, especially when staying as a family.

The room was very nice and comfortable. Being able to open wndows was a plus. Location was great.

There is no room for a car to get to the hotel. We didn't know that and with all our luggage, we needed to get close. We ended up damaging our rental car because of the tight road and no turnaround or drop off space. We had to park quite a distance away but the hotel was very helpful with that and provided the most cost effective location. Breakfast was very expensive with not a lot of variety so we opted to not eat at the hotel. Needed to ask for additional towels since we had three people.

Quiet location near the old town

Beds were comfortable. Location was quiet. The place is well kept, nice and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The pillows weren't comfortable. There was no shower caps provided.

Clean, spacious room within steps of sites and restaurants

The room cleanliness and size was excellent, bedding comfortable, wifi worked well and location in town was within short walking distance of the sites.

Great place to stay in Bamberg

Large and very cosy. Super friendly staff. Right in the old town.

Our bed was on the mezzanine floor and with the heating on downstairs for our children it got stuffy upstairs. But not a show stopper.

An austere and clean no-frills hotel at a good location

The location is relatively good. You do need to walk a bit, but not much, to reach most places, and the neighbourhood is pretty. Also, one of the best breweries is right across the street (but closed on Mon and Tue). The rooms are spacious, even if ours (4-person) was also a bit austere. Relatively quiet, given the somewhat busy at times street. Breakfast is varied.

The beds were designed for elephants. So hard that one wakes to cramped muscles. The toilet seat was curiously high.. an average height person is left with legs dangling. The breakfast is a strange show. They time your breakfast by the hour, instead of giving finer grained slots and then they book full the small breakfast room... and stress the need to stand at attention at the exact hour. Meaning there is a mad dash at the very small serving tables by everyone at the same time. Small area, no ventilation, no masks. A miracle if there isn't a covid super spreader event daily. But also irritating to navigate the melée. Just allow 15 min timings and people will be happier. Very few eat longer than 30 mins. The personnel could maybe be a bit less meticulous on the surface and dictating down to guests to a lesser degree. Could be lack of English skills too, at least for some. Leaves a bit sterile impression at odds with the romanticism you want to attach to a historical building.
