Close to town but nothing more

Close to town.

Very small and not much going on in terms of basic amenities. Room was extremely bright at night due to external lighting which could not be turned off. No curtains made this very unpleasant to sleep.

Lovely restful stay

We enjoyed our stay at the Sandpiper Motel Apollo Bay. The room was very comfortable Bedroom Comfortable bed, lovely and warm with extra rug supplied. Loved the bedside lamps with charging ports in them. Bathroom. Great spa and shower. Could do with a towel rail near the basin for hand towels Kitchen The kitchen facilities were nice, and the fridge worked well.

Although we were informed that the hot water takes a few minutes to come through, it was a bit concerning to see the water wastage while waiting for it to arrive.

Large room, comfortable bed, free laundry. Ignore the neighbours!

The room we stayed in was quite large. It was also clean and comfortable with a great bed leading to a good night's sleep. This hotel also had a complimentary guest laundry which was very handy. Not too far from the beachfront where there were many eating options.

The way the hotel is positioned meant our room was situated looking directly at some other accommodation across the street. In the morning there was a person sitting on their balcony looking straight at us, and they remained there for around two hours staring right at us. The only way to stop them from looking right into the room was to close the blinds which kind of defeats the purpose of a balcony.

Good place to stay for a night

Beds were comfortable. The bedroom was spacious and clean.

Depends on your neighbours it can be quite noisy. We were able to ear people talking and walking upstairs and next to us. Wifi was average.

Comfortable and practical - would stay again

Comfortable and clean, had everything we needed, including a fridge. Not far from town. Bed was comfortable and the room wasn’t too hot.

Walls are maybe a bit thin - we could hear the guests above us moving around a lot. There’s also nowhere to store a large suitcase where it won’t be in the way. We didn’t see or speak to any staff so can’t comment on the service.

A comfortable stay at lovely Apollo Bay.

The location was great we just walked everywhere. Our room was modern, warm and inviting.

A floor mat at the door coming in would be a good idea to save walking on tiles and carpet with wet shoes. Otherwise all good👍

The town of Apollo Bay is charming. Great little golf course run by volunteers.

The location is great, peaceful part of town. Beach is outstanding. Check in was easy. No on site employees.

Hotel management transferred us to another property.

Because there was an issue with our room, the management arranged for us to stay in another hotel.

The change to another hotel was made outside booking.com, at very short notice.

Broken blind and string, clearly not a recent issue but not attended to Freezer had defrosted and fridge full of water Pity not seeing any staff/reception

Convenient location

Needs maintenance done- broken Venetian blind, bathroom smells, grout very patchy, shower edging falling off, large hole to wood just inside door (skirting board), ? Some flood/water damage marks.

Shower was great, nice hot water and great water pressure. Room was nice and quiet apart from guests in the room above who were a bit noisy on occasions.

Nobody was ever working in the reception area, to answer any questions about the area, however they did provide a phone number if assistance was required.

Very pleasant finish to our Great Ocean Walk

Very strange having contactless check-in and out. We had hoped to leave our luggage at reception until our pick up arrived at midday but reception was locked. We took a gamble and left the luggage in the room hoping the office would be open when we got back. Office still unattended but found a cleaner who found our bags and we were on our way without seeing any reception staff.

Two days in Apollo Bay

We were upgraded to room that offered views of the hills and the ocean which was lovely. The room had everything that we needed for a short 2 day stay. The bad was comfortable and they have very nice towels & bed linen.

The room needed a small table in one corner to eat any meals from.

Quiet and comfortable

Small room, but comfortable. Easy walk to the main street, shops and restaurants. We made use of the free laundry facilities which was very convenient. We had a ground floor room which looked out onto the street through the bushes. Quiet location and we slept well. We were visited by a koala in the late afternoon which ended up being a highlight of the holiday!

Large, clean bathroom. However, as two tall people we found the shower head positioned too low.
