About this house rental
Our home, Cedars Hideout, boasts breath taking views of the mountains with easy access to Kicking Horse Mountain's Golden Eagle Express Gondola. It's a great location for both downhill and cross country skiing (Golden Nordic Ski Club) as well as cycling and mountain biking. For the golfers in the group, the Golden Golf Course is within 10 km of the property and is typically opened mid April until early October. There are numerous other activities in the area including white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking, and hiking. Golden is surrounded by Canada's gorgeous National Parks.
There are multiple options to accommodate large families and groups. Please note there are three flights of stairs in the home which may pose a challenge to persons with mobility constraints. The "bunk room" is on the entrance level with four (4) double beds, and is set to entertain with a TV and game console. The second level includes 3 bedrooms, 2 of which have king beds containing their own ensuites with showers. The third bedroom is a king split to offer flexibility to separate into two single beds. This third bedroom is located directly across from the bathroom equipped with a tub/shower. All bedrooms are prepared with premium bedding for our guests. All bathrooms offer in floor heating. A pull out couch, queen-sized bed is available on the top level for additional sleeping space.
The third (top) level includes a fully equipped kitchen with top end appliances to keep hungry guests satisfied. There are multiple seating areas to watch a movie on the large flatscreen TV or to take in the beauty of the landscape. The 8 person hot tub and deck are also accessed on the third floor to provide a spectacular view of the Rockies and enjoy the mountain air. It's an excellent place to begin and end a day of cycling or skiing. A large gas BBQ is also on the deck for grilling. The fireplace and the BBQ are connected to the gas network. A half-bath and pantry are located next to the kitchen area. The dining table seats 10 and the kitchen island seats 4.
The garage is set up as a game room and provides a boot dryer, benches for boot removal, and ready access to the laundry room. All conveniences have been considered for getting skiers on and off the slopes quickly.

Joe, your place is amazing. Top floor was perfect for our group of 11 to relax after days of touring around Yoho and Banff National parks. The views from inside and the hot tub on the deck were amazing. Rooms were a good size and the place was very clean! We have already had discussions about coming back in the winter. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous mountian home with us!

We’ve stayed in many places over the years with our adult children and found this property to be a splendid place for family vacation. Yes, it’s a bit further from Banff but it offers a great value within proximity of some of the most beautiful places on earth. Joe was the consummate host, offering great advice for places to visit in the area. The resort area has great advantages with the Via Ferrata and the mountains are more majestic than you can imagine. The house is loaded with everything you need, including a full kitchen. We liked all the space in the house for our group of 10 and we especially liked the shared living and dining space. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The host and house exceeded our expectations. The location had an amazing view of the mountains and a short drive to town. The house was super clean and was stocked with all of the necessary amenities. The host informed us of fires in the surrounding areas and checked in on us to ensure we were comfortable. A group of us stayed at Joe's beautiful accommodation for a boys mountain bike weekend. Joe was an amazing host from the booking and check in and even helped us make sure we could see the Oilers win game 6! The place had everything and more as advertised, beautiful views from the hot tub and very comfortable sleeping arrangements for all that were on the trip. The garage was awesome to be able to store our bikes without worry. Thank you Joe for your exceptional hospitality and we look forward to coming back again!

The cold prevented us from skiing but we loved our stay nonetheless. The house is well-equipped and very comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub, the living space and open kitchen for games and fun.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at kicking horse! The town of golden was a perfect location to get to all the local attractions and the town itself was full of good food and even nicer people. The brewery at the bottom of the hill, whitetooth was a great place to stop on the way home for a cold beer after a day exploring in the mountains.
The house was the perfect setting for our two couples to spend the week in Golden/banff area. It was a fully stocked kitchen with all the spices and cooking utensils we needed. Tons of towels for our hot tubbing! The beds were incredibly comfortable to recover from our long hikes. The hosts were so easy to contact and suggested tons of activities and local food to try. Don’t skip the truffle pigs in Field. And the boot warmer was perfect for our sweaty hiking boots. Golfed at the golden country club which was also a highlight!

My family and friends stayed at Joe’s property in the summer, and it was absolutely amazing. Joe was very helpful in our check in as well as making sure we had everything we needed during our stay.
The house is meticulously clean and well stocked with everything you would need, including video games, board games and an air hockey table. We had kids ages 1yr - 15yr and the house was ideal for all age ranges.
The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cooking equipment, and seasoning for all your meals.
And the beds! They are so comfortable!!
I would highly recommend staying here, and will hopefully be back in the future.

We spend Family Day Long weekend at this gorgeous place. It's new and had everything we needed. Loved the 2 couches in the main living area as there was always plenty of room for all of us. We also slept like babies in the most comfortable beds! Joe was always available and very quick to answer any messages. Will absolutly come back!

Joe was very friendly and communicated often. He resolved any challenges we had promptly his place is beautiful and the hot tub was especially welcome after long days of hiking.
Only thing you need to be aware of is that Golden is an hour to 90 minutes from many of the hikes we wanted to do and there is construction on hwy1 right east of golden. That road is shut down from 10p to 7 am Monday through Friday. We were still able to make our 0830 show times for lake O’Hara and our river running trip.
There is a ton to do in and around Golden like the gondola and the sky bridge, but we had made other plans before arriving
We had a blast and would not hesitate to stay there again.

We were a group of 10 (four adults and six children) and this was the perfect place for our summer vacation. There was plenty of room for everyone, especially the bunk bed room with all double beds. The other bedrooms were spacious and had everything one would need (including hair dryers). The owner responded to questions we had quickly. Check-in was seamless. We would definitely stay here again, summer or winter.

Kicking Horse Paradise
Our group has been doing an annual trip to the Kicking Horse for eleven years and this was the first time we have stayed at this condo. It had everything we needed and more, great space, fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds with lux bed linens. The setting is peaceful and relaxing. Joe our host was fantastic with communication and answering any questions. We will be back!

Wonderful stay on the ski hill
We loved the property. The views were amazing. The kitchen was well appointed and there was plenty of space for everyone. The ski equipment was well taken care with boot warmers and a boot room. Joe was great about communicating. We will definitely be back!
One thing to mention - there are lots of stairs so people with mobility issues could have a more difficult time but that was not an issue us.

Great place with so much to do!
We had an amazing time and are already looking for time off to go again! There is so much to do and you're right in the perfect location for it ! We loved waking up and enjoying a beautiful walk to Double Black the coffee shop, then a hike or golf before relaxing in the hot tub. The beds were so comfy and the home was absolutely luxurious!!!! Great weekend getaway
We had a wonderful time. The house has nice decor, setup and very spacious. My favourite place was the kitchen and the dinning area as I was able to prepared special meals for the whole group. I have everything I need to cook and set-up for. fancy meal. The kids enjoy the bunkbeds room and the jacuzzi. It’s close enough to walk to the resort to do some site seeing and hiking. The place is just perfect for our 3 families. We’ll sure love to stay again someday.

Golden Golf Trip
Terrific location just up the hill from the Golden Golf Course, perfect for 4 of us, plenty of space, great kitchen stocked with everything you need, and excellent hot tub to sooth sore muscles after the round while overlooking the valley. Owner was awesome to deal with, excellent manual at property to help address all questions, with exception of how not to hit a slice into the woods. We wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Amazing stay in Mountains
The house was perfect for our 3 families. The 6 kids loved the "bunk house" and each couple had their own king bed and bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked and had seating for us all. The hot tub was on the top deck off the dining room which made it easy to keep an eye on the kids without running up and down all the stairs. Joe checked in everyday to make sure we had all we needed and to make sure everything was operating as it should. We will be back!

Awesome Reading Week Getaway!
This property was the perfect spot for our family get together. The house was set up well for our large group with lots of beds and the large hot tub was a hit. The kitchen was well stocked to accommodate our big group and the house was immaculate when we got there! The ski in-ski out made it easy for the kids to come and go as they pleased and we loved having the BBQ for quick lunches. Joe is very friendly and very helpful. Overall, we had an excellent stay and would recommend this property!
