Would have 3.5-starred it but can’t give half stars so bumped it up to 4 because it was mostly good. Rooms and common areas were comfortable and we liked the specially folded towels. Kitchen was disappointing, for those of use that enjoy cooking. Just no kitchen extras that capture extra stars. Knives were good and I always appreciate a sharpening steel. Pans and other utensils were a hod-podge of mismatches and zero staples (spices, salt, oils, food wraps, etc). Makes you wonder what’s in the numerous locked cabinets. So, the kitchen was adequate, the rooms comfy, plenty of room for 8 of use, and for the lost part well maintained.

While this property had the advertised number of rooms, it claimed to have a hot tub - which it does not. The hot tub is associated with a local recreation center - which is not stated in the property summary. In addition, there were bats nesting in the upper eaves of the property - which we were not informed of until the day preceding our arrival. The interior furnishings are worn and dated. Communication with Vacasa, the property manager, was wholly unacceptable.

What an awesome find - the ultimate Tahoe getaway spot. It’s super spacious - very family-friendly. Nestled in the scenic woods close to downtown Truckee as well as Sugarbowl and a bunch of local trails. Loads of top-notch amenities like two fully-equipped kitchens, comfortable bedding, a foosball table, and high-speed WiFi. The lodge has lots of bedrooms across three floors, so there’s privacy and convenience for everyone. It’s also incredibly clean and well-maintained. We’ll for sure be back!

We had a great time with our kids in this house. There are lots of games and books, a beanbag, six bunk beds, and two fun little lofts for the kids to play in. The house was clean and well-stocked and very spacious. In the neighborhood we enjoyed playing pickle ball, swimming in the pools, riding our bikes on the bike path, and swimming at the beautiful Donner Lake beach. We even spotted a bear on the golf course!

Cozy home with lots of rooms for our group of 11. Common spaces were large and comfortable for everyone to gather. Home was clean and had everything we needed for our weekend stay!

Great volume, clean, cool family room for teens, great fireplace and main floor. 2 dinner tables. Perfect set up for parents with teens.
But
Only 52F when we arrived at 10pm with totally icy driveway. The people in charge of preparing the house didn't put the heat on and 3 of us fell hard on the driveway. Really dangerous and we couldn't park the cars on the driveway.
Not acceptable.
People came the day after to de-iced the driveway after we threatened them to call our lawyer.
It shouldn't be such a fight.

The home was spotless, had room for everyone in our group and was equipped with everything we could need. Beautiful views from those incredible windows! Thank you for the opportunity.

For the starter, this place absolutely sucks! Sheets and bedding all stink! Like to a point that we had to wash them ourselves upon arrivals. Used napkins under the bed. Bathroom window slide was completely broken off it’s railing, patio was not even plowed once we got there so we had to do that ourselves to get to the grill, the sliding door for the patio was broken off and we had to wrestle to get it close, smoke alarm was covered with towel (how genius), holes in the bathroom walls filled with paper napkins! Now let’s get to the good part, the CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! If you spend a lot of money for 3 night, you expect someone to answer you call! But no! If the place burns down, you need to wait a long time on hold just to talk to someone! We got snowed in, about 4 feet of snow in the driveway, power went out, all of our cars were basically buried in snow, and we asked the property manager, VACASA to send us some help to plow the snow, since every other property in the neighborhood had some company coming out and plow the snow with the machine, but no! This property manager told us there are shovels and snow plow in the garage and asked us to plow it ourselves! We got a call saying basically sorry we can’t do anything about this AS WE DON’T HAVE THE BANDWIDTH and we will send someone to plow the snow as soon as possible! well, guess what!? No one ever showed up!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. You are better off putting up a tent in the middle of nowhere!

Everything was fine, the only thing was there were a lot of ants everywhere. Also the kitchen refrigerator wasn't really cold so our stuff were going bad. Other than that. We were pleased with our stay. It was our second time staying there.

Overall great trip. The house was in a really good location, and really good property to house our large family/friend gathering.
We will return again at some point!

Loved the beautiful pine forest views, the huge living room, the natural wood, and so much space for our three families who stayed there together. Highly recommend!

We loved the house but we won’t go back because of a bad pest problem. The lower level is infested with mice and we had to capture and remove a bat from the family room.

Perfect for Multiple Families
Great spacious home to accommodate multiple families! Well stocked Kitchen. Met our needs perfectly.

Beautiful house, great location
Overall, we loved it. Enough room for all our families.
Negatives,
1. Driveway was full of ice, one car almost slid down into garage. There was a notice saying there is de-icer, and shovel in garage, but we couldn't get into garage. Called the company, they said no access to garage. We had to buy de-icer and a shovel to get the ice cleared to park. Took 1.5 hours of work to get driveway cleared.
2. The ceiling fan in main room is unstable. It was turned on and it started spinning and gyrating wildly. Lights started going on and off while everyone ran. Was funny to watch out happen, but everyone under it ran and yelled. Turned that off quick while we all wondered if it would crash to the ground.
3. The gas burner stove knobs are messed up. It's on off, but it's really on. I adjusted the far right one as best as possible, but off doesn't really mean off.
Overall, loved the place! The negatives are what they are, but the location is perfect and the house is absolutely spacious and beautiful. I'm pretty laid back, and the happiness and memories everyone had fast pest the negatives. Would book there again

Thanksgiving Weekend
Had a great time! Cabin was perfect for a large family, plenty of room downstairs for the kids to hang out and the 2nd kitchen was a nice addition. The neighborhood was nice and woods in the back great for a quick hike! Would definitely come back! Thanks for the memories Sleeping Bear Lodge!

Great time.
Had a blast! Thank you for hosting.

Great space, poor maintenance
Space was ideal for our family. However, deep cleaning and maintenance badly needed.
Mice infestation, appliances did not work, oven set off fire alarm, grease fire from buildup on grill, no information on pool access and no help from rep when called. Minor flood from loose pipe under sink, carpets frayed and dirty, cobwebs all around, wet laundry in washer, dirty pans and equipment…

Good property and good location
This property is well maintained and in the good location where is close the Donner Lake and national park. We will return the property next year.

Great floor plan Needs upgrading
We enjoyed the location and the bones of the house. The carpets were disgusting. The couch old and broken and a bed broke. We did not get an arrival packet and the exorbitant cost for pool use and availability was not made clear in the add. There was a bat in the upstairs room and the downstairs oven caught fire from grease on the bottom. There is plenty of room for a large family and it’s cute. Our feet were black from walking on the carpet as directed by signs placed by the homeowner. We wish it was better. The rooms were clean and there were plenty of towels and soap, etc.

Nice and spacious cabin!
We loved the cabin, it’s big and have 6 bedrooms and so many beds. The basement it’s like another unit with 3 bedroom and full size kitchen with washer and dryer! The Cabin itself was really nice! However the cleanliness is not really good. I’ve been to other Vacasa’s Cabin that’s why I can compare the cleanliness. This one is not really clean. The room that has bunk beds, on one of the bed we found a glowing stick and that tells us they didn’t changed the sheet, and we also found a razor on the side of the bunk bed, I wish I would have take the picture. The kitchen is fully equipped but its a little unorganized. The oven on the basement is dirty. I feel like we pay too much for the cleaning fee but they’re not cleaning this Cabin properly, we have to wipe down the counters in the kitchen to get it clean. That is the reason why we just gave this Cabin a 4 star. Other than that we love the place and we would go back again!

Good house but NO AIR CONDITIONING
House was overall clean except for the carpets. The carpets need to be replaced as they made our feet dirty. My only other complaint is that there was no air conditioning. We went to escape the heat and ended up hot anyways. Overall the house worked great for our needs as there was 3 floors. We could spread out the kids and still have an adult area as well.

Spacious cabin
We had a little family reunion here and loved our stay. The cabin is very spacious with 7 bedrooms, a loft, cute little 4th floor nook the kids slept in one night. We used the space of both refrigerators. There were a lot of pots, pans, griddle, blender, cookie sheets and other kitchen supplies. There are great gathering areas on the main floor and downstairs. We went in the winter and it was a beautiful area covered in snow. It gave a great cabin feel. The reason I do not give 5 stars is because it smelled strongly of fireplace smoke when we walked in. Some of the men checked it out and said the flu of the fireplace was very dirty. We would stay again.

Great place!
We had a wonderful stay at Sleeping Bear Lodge! It was a great location and close to downtown Truckee. It was a huge property with plenty of beds, 2 kitchens, and 2 large living areas with huge flat screen TVs! Would definitely recommend for large groups!

Family Reunion
The house was perfect for our family size. It had everything we needed to cook meals, play games, watch TV, movies and sports and allowed us to spend time together without feeling cramped. We had several different age groups and everyone’s needs were met. Very comfortable. Extra blankets, pillows, sheets and towels. Laundry room upstairs and downstairs and the two kitchens were extremely helpful for food prep and storage so we never had to go out to eat, saving us a lot of money. Location was close to grocery stores and shops. Would absolutely stay here again. Price was great, especially for the size and amenities. To say we were pleasantly surprised would be a huge understatement. Thank you for making our whole family feel at home.

Family reunion in Truckee
The home was very spacious and comfortable. It accommodated our large crowd. There were a few issues with cleanliness, broken items, and missing key. I reported these items to the property manager so hopefully they will be addressed. All being said, our family had a great time.

Garbage cans full
the garbage cans were full and there was not enough space to throw the garbage on a 4th of July, we had to take the garbage with us so as not to leave it out of the cans and I didn't like that at all.

Perfect for our group
Perfect! Housed half of a high school ski team, the kitchen was perfect, location and access were great. Customer service thru Vacasa is fantastic

Volleyball Team
I brought a team of teenage girls to this home. It was such a perfect fit for us. The number of rooms and bathrooms made this home so easy for us to spend the days relaxing and nights sleeping. Definitely great for a big group!

Tons of space!
This is a huge home with 2 full kitchens so it was great for our large group. It was great to see all of the games available which made for some really fun time spent by the fire with hot chocolate. We would definitely stay here again. We couldn't immediately find the guest passes (hanging in plain sight, of course) and the local team responded immediately to assist. Great customer service as well.

Family wedding trip
The house was a great size for our family and friends to stay in for our son’s wedding weekend. There was plenty of room for everyone. Nice quiet location. House had a few issues such as garbage disposal smelling awful due to it not being clean. Carpet definitely needs to be replaced. Would not recommend walking around barefoot. This property could stand a little TLC.
6.0
Both good and bad
We loved the size and location of the house. Great towels and bedding. But we felt the carpeting on main floor was very dirty and worn. We also would have liked an owner’s manual that gave household instructions.
