Hideaway at Breakaway at York Bay

We enjoyed our four days at Breakaway at York Bay very much. The property is hidden away at the top of a cul de sac with views overlooking Wellington harbour. It's warm and cosy in winter and the bed is very comfortable. Cathy and Ross made us feel very welcome and were attentive without being intrusive.

Access to the property is down a steepish driveway and you park your car outside on the cul de sac. This worked fine for us but might not suit someone with limited mobility.

Friendly hosts, great accommodation, super clean and cosy

The bed was far too comfortable, we ended up sleeping in on our last day, and had an 8 hour drive to make, so didnt quite leave as early as we wanted, but no complaints from us. Being greeted by Jojo was a real treat, such a gorgeous and friendly furbaby. Night-time view from the accommodation was amazing and the place had everything you needed. Would stay again.

The parking was a little awkward, as it was street parking on a hill and we were travelling in our work van which is a little oversized and awkward to manoeuvre, but apart from that - all good

Wonderful place to relax. Superb hosts. We definitely want to stay here again. Highly recommended!

Plenty space, large sitting room, fantastic TV, large outdoor deck with views over Wellington City and harbour. Great heating, if you need it. The bathroom is as good as it gets, fantastic shower you hardly want to leave.

It wasn't of great concern, but the fan in the kitchenette, which comes on automatically with the light switch, is a bit noisy and you could be worried waking up the owners who live on the level above if you wanted to make a cup of tea in the middle of the night. Extractor fans are noisy by nature.

Loved it!

The apartment was a good size with a lovely view and everything anyone could need for a short or longer (as in our case) getaway; eg washing machine and drier, pots and pans, even fairy lights for the BBQ! Breakfast was plentiful and the hosts were friendly and helpful.

Nothing. I suppose if you want to spend lots of time in the city you need to travel a bit but there's a bus stop at the end of the street and a ferry into town close by.

Cathy and Ross was very kind and helpful. Rooms were very tidy and bed was very comfortable. Close to the ferry to Wellington city center. Don't need to driving the car and worry about the parking. We enjoyed staying. Thank again.

Generally, we had a very pleasant 2-night stay.

Hosts were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom/living area was really lovely with great deck and views. The bed and bedding were exceptional. The laundry facilities and bathroom were fine too.

The kitchenette, although it had pretty much what we needed, was tiny - I guess it was described as a kitchenette - but as it was an internal room, had to have an extractor fan which was really noisy, and in the small space, not pleasant for cooking a meal. Also, I think the very steep access could be better described for those who may be less mobile.

Lovely seating out on the deck that looks over the harbour and a nice swimming pool. And it was a comfy apartment that fit all 5 of us comfortably. And the hosts were amazing!
