Lekker rustig en groen en toch dichtbij het centrum.

Ligging hoger dan de drukke stad in een mooie heuvelige en groene woonwijk op loopafstand van de binnenstad. Prachtige tuin.

Misschien ietwat zakelijke inrichting.

Welcome to Camp Windy Ridge, where you must obey the rules of the Emperor

- The room was very spacious. - The shower had good pressure and good hot water (but ants everywhere).

- The owner built a nice little prison for himself. It's extremely difficult to get in and out. Everything is locked and controlled. - The welcoming was the worst we've had in Sri Lanka: cold and procedural. - No help with our luggages, we had to go down two levels without help. - There are more rules than in a prison. - Can't eat or drink in room. - You can't leave past 11PM. The gate is closed. - Breakfast is at 8:30am, no other time possible. We're early birds so this was way too late. - I don't know what's up with all these reviews about an exceptional breakfast, but we've had the same food all reviews show, and it was just fine. Westernized and sweet. - I think this accommodation is for old, insecure people who are afraid of their shadow. It's definitely not for anyone below 60. I couldn't imagine going there with a family, I'm pretty sure that's against the rules anyway. - I felt bad for the cooks, two nice ladies having to work under a tyran. - The location is just okay

Comfortable Kandy stay

The host Mr Senaka and his wife were very friendly. They have us good information on Kandy and tourist traps in Sri Lanka. We were also able to walk around their their property & estate and see the different spice trees planted

We would prefer if the host had given more bottled or have a water filter installed in the kitchen, instead of boiling the water for drinking in a kettle.

Sauberes Hotel mit großem Zimmer

Das Zimmer war sehr groß und die Unterkunft ebenfalls sehr schön. Der Besitzer war stets bemüht. Das Zimmer war auch wirklich. Und in die Stadt zu kommen wird aber ein TukTuk benötigt. Grundsätzlich würde ich die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen da die Aussicht und die Sauberkeit sehr gut waren.

A lovely place to stay, clean, comfortable in a quiet location ideal for visiting the sights in Kand

It was spotlessly clean, nice quiet location in walking distance to the centre of the town, very helpful owner and lovely comfortable beds. Also a good shower

The bathroom was smaller than we expected and it would have been nice to have had a balcony or at least windows which could have been opened to look out

A very pleasant and relaxing stay with wonderful hosts

Beautiful Garden views and sounds, very helpful and friendly hosts speaking excellent English, very good breakfasts, light, modern and spacious home, very clean and quality build. A quiet location. Good security. Close walk to a hillside Buddha temple with great views.

A bit further from town than we expected on a steep hill and busy roads to cross when walking into Kandy. Better to get a tuk tuk in the heat or dark. It would be nice to have tea making facilities in the room and a small fridge.

Molt bon amfitrió

Hanitació ample, còmode i neta. El propietari és un encant, ens va preparar l’esmorzar per emportar ja que marxavem molt d’hora.

Has de pagar just quan arribes i per arribar a l’allotjament tot i que està a 15 minuts del centre és tot una pujada bastant forta. Per anar caminant és complicat.

Wonderful gardens in a quiet location

I wanted to let you know that a very tasteful entrance which led down to the room we had booked. I would like to add this was the last room they had which was a budget room with twin beds. The room was spotless, breakfast was amazing and the staff were very attentive. Wonderful gardens in a quiet location

The bathroom was tiny. I must have looked at a different room when I booked as I thought it was bigger than what it was. A very steep hill that I just wouldn't entertain walking up to get to the accommodation , however, we had our own Tuk-Tuk so it didn't matter to us.

A quiet and restful place near busy Kandy

We enjoyed travelling to Windy Ridge by train. It is a beautiful house designed for guests only, next-door to the owners’ home. Guests can come and go because the gate is manned by a friendly security guy. There is a fully-equipped kitchen where guests can make a cup of tea/coffee and store food, if they wish. Our downstairs room was huge, as was the comfortable bed. Our room looked out on a lush and stunning garden. We awoke each morning to the melodious song of tropical birds. Seneka is a very attentive owner; he organised tuk-tuks, taxis and restaurant recommendations. It was he who introduced us to the BEST tuk-tuk driver, Nuwan, who took us everywhere and surprised us with unusual suggestions and attractions, like a cooking class in the home of his friend, Sieta. A generous breakfast was prepared by Seneka’s wife and her helper, both eager to please the guests. Dinner is not provided at Windy Ridge, but Kandy is only a quick tuk-tuk drive away where there are lots of restaurants. If you need a break from curry, try the fun cafe called Soul Food where delicious, vegetarian food is served.

The water was not hot in the shower or bathroom basin. We should have mentioned it sooner as it improved somewhat after we told the owner.

Love our stay here and definitely come back again .

The property is well looked after, the house itself is very clean, the facilities is good but more importantly the staff especially Senaka and his wife are very attentive to your needs. Not to mention the garden which is Immaculate and well kept. Highly recommended. Thank you Windy Ridge.

Immaculate hotel with marvellous views and lovely owners

Immaculate grand house with great views. East tuk tuk down to the main city area and walking distance to places to eat. Our room was very spacious with a lovely balcony, comfortable bed and everything, including the bathroom and exterior living areas of the property are immaculate. We had a lovely breakfast and some good chats with Seneka and met his lovely wife Nilashki. Thank you for having us.

Beautiful stay

Everything about this stay was great. First of all Senaka, the owner, who went above and beyond to help us where needed. He was such a lovely guy! The beautiful room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious too! I would definitely stay here again when in Kandy.

Grüne Oase mit tollem Garten

Sehr sauber und sehr gute Ausstattung Zimmer mit Gartenblick ermöglicht es, Vögel zu beobachten Das ganze Haus ist sehr wertig im Bezug auf Matraze, Badezimmer, Wohnzimmerbereich. Die Lage ist für Kandy sehr gut, da nicht weit vom Bahnhof bzw. Zentrum, das Tuk Tuk gibt es für ca. 500 LKR zum Bahnhof. Die Ruhe ist toll, wer den Trubel nicht braucht, ist hier gut aufgehoben Frühstück sehr gut, es kann auch Sri Lankan Breakfast bestellt werden (vorab per WhatsApp) Personal sehr freundlich und nett

Wonderfully comfortable and well equipped room.

The host was knowledgable, the staff were very friendly, the breakfast was excelllent, the accommodation was very safe/secure, great views, comfy bed, good mosquito net and air con provided.

Very comfortable place to stay

It was great to have a spacious room with view to the lovely garden. A hot shower with good water pressure! The hosts are very accommodating and on the second morning I received a Sri Lankan breakfast which I loved. Much better than western breakfast!!!! The hotel is close to the city and just around the corner from the white Buddah. Everything is within walking distance. If you don’t like walking back up the hill there are plenty of Tuktuks in town.

Wie würden hier auf jeden Fall wieder buchen.

Das gesamte Haus und die Zimmer waren super schön, hochwertig, gepflegt und sauber. Das Frühstück war herausragend. Durch die höhere Lage des Hauses hat man eine tolle Aussicht vom Balkon oder der Sonnenterrasse. Wir wollten am nächsten Tag einen Ausflug machen, auch hier hat man uns einen sehr guten Guide empfohlen und den Kontakt hergestellt.

Wonderful house and service!!

Our host was always helpful and sociable. He took good care of us and even packed some breakfast when we left early in the morning. The view is gorgeous, squirrels around, colorful birds. Exceptional breakfast.

Modern, clean property in a good location with tasty breakfast.

Modern house with large bedroom. Good breakfast, with choice of European or Sri Lankan food, that is freshly prepared. Friendly staff. In a better location than many other guest houses in Kandy--just a short tuk tuk ride from the centre of the city.

Breakfast is at 08:30 and is placed on the table even if you have not arrived. Rooms are not serviced during your stay, so you have to be careful to dry your towels and air the bed.

Very good

Nice and beautiful house that offers a couple of rooms. The staff were very helpful especially by offering us an earlier breakfast our last day. The room was very big and had good air conditioning. Walking distance to city center, but up the hill a bit so easier to go back up with a tuktuk.

Great remote retreat in Kandy for people with more than a pure backpacker-Budget!

Really Beautiful house in the Kandy mountains with a great Host! The rooms are really big with a great bed and bathromm! The Garden is simply incredible. And the breakfast was really good too!

The house is quite Remote, which definetly has its benefits. Its quite a walk from the city center up there - especially during the Night. And it‘s a bit expensive for Sri Lankan standards, which surely comes from the amazing house!

Exceptional

The room was spacious and beautiful, with a great view to the garden. There was everything we needed (including a kettle for common use in the beeakfast room). It is very peaceful at night. The location is uphill from the city, a bit of a walk or a short tuktuk ride. We did not mind it as the city center is noisy and congested.
