Being a returning guest, we love the hotel and it’s beautiful location.
The staff, in particular Seow & Chai, are amazing and went above and beyond to ensure our group were catered for and had everything we needed.
The rooms are looking a little dated, they definitely need some TLC and we also had a mouse that visited us each evening.

location
ac was pathetic in the room
given ..staff blamed it on the room facing sunlight ,but were kind enough to change our room to a better cooled room.

The reception area and breakfast area were both really nice, as was the position of our room looking out over the beach
The hotel is starting to look a bit tired and could do with some refurbishment

Great beach and sea. We stayed in Impiana Suite with large panoramic window right at the beach. The room was very comfortable and nice.
The hotel is not well managed.
1. It is far from 4star cleaning standards (our friends had a mouse in their room and the smell from the toilet was at times unberable). We asked few days in a row to clean the beach in front of our cottage.
2. Restaurant staff was rude and unwilling to help. We were even asked at reception to share our feedback in writing as there was a lot of oral complaints but "no proof".
3. Overall the hotel is old and not well maintained.
4. We do not recommend the restaurant. it is more expensive than neighbourhood but quality does not follow.

The location was good with the beach. The staff were very good, especially Ms. Nong.
The breakfast spread was perfect too.
3.0 / 5.0
The staff were mostly wonderful.
Excellent view directly onto the beach from the breakfast terrace.
Quiet location at the secluded end of Chaweng Noi - close enough to get to Chaweng easily, but far enough away to avoid the full-on hustle and bustle.
The hotel has a gym.
Confusion at check-in - allocated room not available so they put me in what felt like a 'downgraded' option backing onto the busy main road. Grateful that they found me a room overlooking the pool after I complained.
That said, having waited an additional 45 minutes for said room overlooking the pool it was a shame the housekeepers had only done half a job - bins and ashtray were not emptied from previous guest. Unfortunate!
I've stayed in this hotel many times pre-Covid. Unfortunately the standard has dropped significantly post-Covid, as it unfortunately has in many places on Koh Samui due to the post-Covid staff shortage phenomena. It's the little things that used to make the Impiana a special experience that are now sadly missing e.g. Breakfast is now merely average instead of exceptional; no apple bowl at reception; no teas/coffees/snacks in the business/hospitality suite; less diligent/competent housekeepers (e.g. beach towels not replaced / re-folded); no towels in the gym (plus gym is now quite scruffy); hire scooters not available; beachfront not cleaned/cleared as diligently as before.
If you are a first-timer to Koh Samui / Impiana then you will be fine and probably grade your stay a 7.5-8.0. However, as a returning guest and knowing how brilliant it used to be, I can unfortunately only grade the stay as a 6-7 at current prices. Hope they can get back to former glories.

The overnight receptionist and the lobby.
They didn’t give me the room I paid for due to an “electricity” problem after they clearly couldn’t find my reservation in their system which was evident once they asked me “When did you make the reservation.” They said they would upgrade me and it would take an hour for the new room to be made ready. I left to go get a haircut and food. I came back at 0200 and received the key for the room. I walked in and the bathroom was dirty, the mirrors were dirty, there was trash in the trash cans, toothpaste residues on the sink handles, the shower had been recently used and the bed was made but when I pulled the sheets back, there was hair in the bed and what looked like nail clippings or a substance from someone’s nose. I then had to go to the front desk and ask for a different room but was informed all the rooms were booked and the manager wouldn’t be back until 0800. My flight was leaving at 0800 so I wouldn’t have a chance to voice my dissatisfaction with the manager. I ended up having to sleep on top of the bed with the two new sheets that the receptionist gave me. Highly disappointed that I paid 4100 baht to be completely disrespected like that. I’ll never stay there again and will advise all of my other real estate, cannabis dispensary and sports friends who are coming to visit not to stay their either. As someone who has stayed in hostels and hotels all over the world, I can confidently say this is single handedly the worst experience I’ve ever had. I don’t believe it is a reflection of Thai hospitality as a whole, but a complete failure in company culture, processes and standards at this particular hotel.

staff and facilities were damaged and constructions.

Clean and attractive. Great breakfast.
No good shops nearby, no businesses on the beach. Costs a lot to go anywhere, for example 300 baht to go to the main beach 3 km away. Facilities not restored after covid, for example billiard table and all water sport equipment in storage.

it was on the beach beach towels provided and breakfast was good
the hotel is on a main road of a bend no pavement outside to walk and dangerous if you got a family
also the week previous there was a storm the beach outside this hotel was covered in rubbish but all the others had cleaned there’s up when you walk along
when you sit at the bar area the tables don’t get cleaned also so stains from other people’s drinks
and you need to get taxi everywhere

The chamber maids were exceptional - the rooms were always really clean and tidy with clean towels daily. They seemed to be the hardest working members of staff.
There were a number of simple things that the staff could have done to make the stay nicer. For example - 1) clear the beach in front of the hotel on a daily basis including removing plastic bottles and debris, 2) taking the sun lounger cushions in out of the rain and at night - they were always wet which was very unpleasant to lie on. 3) Burn a mosquito candle in reception - we got eaten alive when waiting at reception. 4) clear the pool and its surrounding area of leaves on a daily basis - same for the quad area.
The hotel seems to be in need of a general refurb - the walls are scuffed, the bathrooms needed re grouting etc.

Impiana Resort Koh Samui Chaweng. The beach is unusable, there are a lot of trash that the staff didn't clean up for 8 days, we wrote to booking 2 times and others and we also attached pictures, but in some cases they didn't help, they entrusted the solution to the hotel, tourists spent days cleaning up in order to they could bathe, I would never recommend the hotel for anyone! ! WiFi had to be searched every meter. Sunshades and tables are stuck with dirt.

nothing
upon check-in was given wrong room the room they gave me the door was wide open what does that mean mosquitoes day too they asked me to leave my room leave my luggage in the lobby so that they could give somebody my room so that I could accommodate their guests now I’m accommodating them they tried to get me into another room that was substandard than the one that I had paid for and the icing on the cake was hearing the manager tell a staff member that I was a problem I’m a problem I was not given the correct room I was to accommodate their guests

The view from the swimming pool, overlooking the beach was amazing. Breakfast was also very good.
Had a bad experience with the airport pickup. I would suggest the hotel to only have their own drivers when picking up guests. The rooms were not spacious.

the property was cleaned and didn’t smell of mould. the fact that it was right on the beach
there was nothing that we didn’t like

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I forgot my shoes and they were sent to me straight away. We enjoyed the breakfast a lot. Every request was so kindly answered.
I am a big fan of having separate smoking and non-smoking areas of rooms. Our dilemma of being surrounded by smoker neighbors had been nicely solved.

A very nice resort right on the beach. The staff were very helpful. I have a bad back so they moved us to the ground floor. There is an excellent buffet breakfast. A very pleasant stay.
Everything was fine

We had a fantastic room facing the beach, and the beach was really lovely for swimming. The staff were all brilliant. We had a couple of dinners there which we enjoyed too.
We have nothing that we weren’t happy with … Maybe a little bit of information about what is available there would have been helpful. Didn’t even know there was a gym … noticed it after a couple of days there!
