The Suite, in terms of size and interior furniture and the view over the sea were breathtaking. The swimming pools were huge, really huge and all extremely proper and well maintained, except the little beach.
There was no bar or anything around the swimming pools or at the beach. We were completely alone without even staff who would ask regularly if you like to drink something. Near the hotel is simply nothing - no possibility to go out for a snack or dinner outside the hotel on your own - other than using a car and drive to Lamai or Chaweng ( 30 Minutes).
The beach was disappointing. After having complaint 3 times it was cleaned each morning. But the beach is much too small without the possibility to walk. Bulk of rubbish laying on the right and left side to the beach.... plastics etc

The rooms are spacious and the view stunning.
We left after 1 night as we found the hotel in desperate need of maintenance and cleaning. The rooms were clean, the pool area was acceptable but the reception, restaurant and gym were in very sad shape. Kids space and spa are closed. Since the location is quite remote the dealbreaker for us was the very poor restaurant. I can see how this once was a great high-end hotel, but it is sad to see it is clearly in trouble.

Well managed residences. The room we reserved was very big and there is a fully equipped kitchen (washing machine and dryer included). Staff is very friendly and helpful. There are 2 big swimming pools. It's a very convenient location.
The food at restaurant was excellent; the em server, the poopey chef and the earth FB manager were very kind and helpful.
The breakfast buffet is very minimal and lacking (why there is not fresh fruit like mango?). There are only maybe 3-4 different thing available and it's very basic at best. We asked many days for a simple yogurt and they told us that it was finished! As we stayed in a resort we thought we'd find it on the day following!
There is a free bus shuttle just from 1 pm to 5.30 pm. You must improve times and put more times available because the hotel is very isolated and taxi was 500 bath for a one way trip to lamai.

The hotel was beautiful and the room was amazing. The pools were beautiful and it has it's own private beachfront. We had a full size kitchen in our room and had our own washer/dryer as well that was really nice to have.
There were a few things that we didn't like so much that could have been a lot better for us during our stay. When you leave the room, you have to take the key out of a holder that keeps the power on in the room. So once you pull it out, the power shuts off including the a/c. If you leave for the whole day, you come back and it's hot in the room and takes several hours to cool back off again every day. It just would be nice if the a/c stayed on to keep the room cool.
The restaurant is not very good at all either. There is a small limited menu that doesn't have very good food. The breakfast buffet is very minimal and lacking. There are only maybe 3-4 different thing available and it's very basic at best.
The private beach that's advertised in front of the hotel is not recommended to go swimming at. The beach is covered in broken coral and barely any sand at all. It's nice and beautiful and private for sure, but you need to wear shoes in the water to protect your feet from the coral.

Bad breakfast, bad location, bad beach

The rooms are clean and the villa is huge
There is no “beach”, there is a pile of sharp stones and dead coral, and a sea which you cannot go in. The reception staff are rude. The restaurant staff are nice but it closes after lunch.

Spacious rooms
Zombie land type of the hotel. Was pretty good in 201x, but seems that was completely left unsupervised from the pandemia start...

Breakfast was ok if a bit limited
The restaurant closed at 7.30, which for a hotel was very early
They charges 1500 thb PER NIGHT for a fold up bed for our small kid even though we had a 2 bed appartment. We thought this exceptionaly high for Thailand, it was about the same as we were paying per head for the whole place.

The best was the space of the room. We (2 people) have had a 144 m2 appartment with a tarrace, two bathrooms, huge kitchen and space for huuuge family. The sea view was great, and you cannot really complain about anything which relates to the room.
It's in the middle of nowhere. 500 baths to the town one way (hotel transfer) - Grab drivers do not accept the ride, Bold does not exist. Nothing around. We were in November, it was raining just before we arrived, so the only road to civilization was just flooded. No way to walk to the nearest restaurant or bar. Breakfast was the most disappointing breakfast in a 5* hotel I have ever experienced. It's a mixture of continental (with poor choices) plus a'la carte - but what they served was just on a 'street food level'. Beach or sea access does not existed. The part of the shore at the hotel was not only "rocky". It was as dirty as I have NEVER seen in my life. The shore was full of waste, plastic bags, bottles and other stuff. There was no option to have a walk either way.

The cleaning team for the villa was extraordinary.
The view from villa was wonderful.
For the rest, it was very poor.
The manager was invisible even if I asked three times to see him.
The food was horrible at the restaurant at any time.
The welcome at arrival was terrible.
You can get so much better for this price in Thailand.

Facility is excellent, secluded and away from the city
Front Staff was rude, they did not help carry bags to the 4 the floor or the villa we were staying, we asked for rooms together but they gave us the room on opposite side of the property

Breakfast was well cooked and in the main restaurant. Very relaxed and friendly. Evening meal options were extensive and very tasty.
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
The hotel rooms were nothing short of fantastic, right down to the bath large enough for 10 people!
The view from the large balcony is one of the best I have experienced, this from a person that has travelled most of the world. Wonderful hotel. I will be back in the future I hope...

neglected, not maintained, old, shabby, poor customer service
7.0 / 10.0
Clean pools, ok food big rooms with everything you need. Quiet and relaxing.
Hard beds. Small portions of food. Very little staff. For eksample the restaurant, it seemed like only 2 people worked there and it took us 1,5 hours to get our food at one point. Also we had to order our dinner before 17.30 but we could have it served later in the evening. Also no kids menu. The english knowledge of the staff were poor and alot of misunderstandings occured due to that. Also the website stated that they had a kidsclub. This was closed for no apparent reason, but we could use the room if we wanted to. But The room was old, dirty and smelled awful. The same goes for the toys in there. Humid and mold could be smelled and seen. Gym was poorly equipt. Also shasa is far away from good beaches and the center of the island so there is nothing you can walk to. I find it amusing that the photos of the hotels "beach" are clearly photoshopped because there is nothing but sharp rocks and garbage there. Practicly a useless beach. The place needs an upgrade in some places. Railing on the balcony was rotten and paint on the building peeled of.

The breakfast is much less than the expectation of 5-start hotel...
There was no staff during night, so we were very fearful when hearing some wired sounds in midnight...Did not sleep almost the whole night...
