More selection for my vegan partner at breakfast, a bit disappointing for a 4 star hotel.

The location was great with a good breakfast for a few nights stay.
The pool area has plenty of sun loungers & umbrellas, & shaded grass areas to sunbathe comfortably.
It was great to have pool towels provided.
Paying for the car park at a quieter time of year with many free spaces & street parking. €18 a day is also over-priced for parking your car at the hotel you're staying in.
The twin room we had extended into the bathroom with glass partition doors between the toilet & bathroom/room, a proper pocket door to separate the bathroom & bedroom would be better for privacy.
There was only a mirror in the bathroom also which again could not be used if someone was in the toilet or shower because of the glass partition doors. A bedroom mirror would help.
And finally additional hooks or a small retractable washing line would help for drying swimsuits/towels etc as there was no where to hang & dry items in the room (twin room with no balcony).

close to the beach and restaurants
the food was soso but it did not bothered us as we could go out eat at restaurant near the beaches since it was so close

All the staff on reception were extremely helpful. The room was spotless and towels and linen changed daily. The pool was of a good size and well maintained. The lady in charge of pool towels who also acted as lifeguard was lovely. The hotel is very well situated for access to the beach and village of Calella and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
The lift is very small.

GOOD LOCATION, QUIET, WITH A NICE GARDEN AND POOL, BUT ONLY A SHORT WALK TO THE BEACH
room a little small and dull

Very comfortable. Friendly staff. We are a couple doing a walking tour of Costa Brava and Hotel Alga is a great place to arrive to a warm welcome after a hot day on the Cami De Rondi. The breakfast was just the thigh to get us back on the trail in the morning.
