We liked the pool, the linens and bathrobes, the comfortable bed.
The bathroom was open to the sleeping area - causing unnecessary noise and light when trying to sleep. The outlets in the room were strange. There was a coffee maker, but we needed to bring it into the bathroom to access a suitable outlet. The room was made up to have very delicate wine glasses standing upright at the foot of the bed - very nerve-racking. The overhead lighting was also controlled by switches in strange places. And, while we liked the pool, we didn't love it. It was dangerously designed for anyone trying to do lap swimming.

Valet parking. Excellent reception personnel. Lovely bar with great bartenders and superb pianist adding to the flavour on the last night (friday) of our stay

Located in the center of town with access to many restaurants and shops and sights. Staff is amazing, their breakfast is wonderful.
When arriving it was confusing on where to park or how to let them know we had arrived.

Mooi pand
Fijn binnen zwembad

Magnifique ville.

The hotel is located in the heart of the town, close to tourist attractions and shops. Housed in a beautiful, monumental old palace, the hotel offers a unique and charming atmosphere. Despite its central location, it is quiet inside. The rooms are very clean and spacious, the breakfast is good and staff is very friendly. The hotel also has a beautiful indoor swimming pool.
Breakfast was good, offering a variety of choices. However, the breakfast room itself could be a little more dressed up to match the elegance of the rest of the hotel.

The building is beautiful, and extremely well located for all of the main sights in Rouen. The staff are lovely, and very helpful and accommodating. Valet parking is a real plus.
The rooms are extremely small, particularly for the cost per night. The rooms are a little dated. Our bathroom had paint flaking off of the ceiling around the shower. The in room facilities are limited (I would not say in room coffee making facilities if that is a kettle and some instant coffee sachets). The tech in the modern rooms is also a bit dated.

Meubilair was karig.

Nice Hotel in a very nice position in the old part of Rouen and our room was the highest one I think or one of the highest.
Would stay there again.
The room at the very top has nice views over the place and was quite high. We both like being higher up because we aren’t very tall anymore ever since the accident we had many years ago in Mexico when the cable broke in the lift. I wear shoe inserts anyway so I’m slightly higher now and my wife is stuck in the seventies anyway so imagine the shoes she wears.
You can see the cathedral from
The top room although the cathedral looks quite a bit higher.
We had club sandwiches which were nice as we’d been travelling all day and the waiter was quite tall which is a good thing.
Could have been a bit higher but could still see things.

The location was excellent but we knew this as we have stayed there before on our way back from South of France to the UK. Rouen is our favorite stop if we are traveling on the West coast side
the hotel is pretty nice
When we arrived and were shown to our rooms (2) I was told we were upgraded, which sounded great
however, we did not get a good nights sleep. from just after 6AM the road sweeper was outside our room for at least an hour going up and down. I understand this needs to be done but constantly is too much.
I do not expect to get an interrupted nights sleep in a 5 star hotel. I think the glazing needs to be looked at.
our kids were up the hall from us and facing the inside courtyard and slept fine
my wife had a particularly poor night sleep which was NOT good after a long days drive
I also thought the breakfast was a little poor for a 5 star hotel but then that is probably a personal choice.

Stylish hotel, centrally located in Rouen with large wood paneled rooms. Very comfortable bed, service and valet parking (Pierre) were all 5 star. Also the breakfast was excellent.

Wonderful hotel, hard to find any faults. Friendly staff, excellent room facilities, and brilliant spa which was included. Very good restaurant with lovely food, and convenient location. Excellent value for money and service. Breakfast was excellent.
Could be more lunch options for vegetarian.

Location
Noisy room, carpet a little tired and would have expected a little more for a 5 star breakfast

The pool and facilities
Well furnished room
The rooms were comfortable but there was no period feel. The corridors were anonymous, blank and lacked character. The only period feel was the front of the building...a beautiful facade but inside could have been anywhere

swimming pool and spa area was good. Staff on the whole were good and helpful with enquiries.Very comfortable bed.Car looked after well although quite expensive!! Bar lounge area quite nice and generally the hotel building is quite nicely done.
Breakfast although tasty was not hot, cold plates also. Asked a waiter for a clean knife and he presented it to me holding the blade in his fingers!!! Rooms although pleasant enough could do with some general maintenance ,ie touching in of paintwork, cracked tile on floor in bathroom etc. Wi fi was on and off. Poor selection of tv channels in English and TV in rooms did not work initially although this was soon rectified. Breakfast was expensive for what it was. live music in lounge area and in courtyard was a bit too loud and also thought that it would have been better if the musician had a backing track to play too. We did have a bit of an issue on the day we arrived with one of our rooms not being completely cleaned properly, this was rectified quickly and the manageress did apply a discount to our bill for this room which was good. Also during the morning hours and early afternoon, cleaning trolleys were left outside our room door which is not what you would expect to see at a 5 star hotel. Over all the Hotel is a lovely building and there is a good bit of room for improvement but nothing major to stop you enjoying your stay.

We were greeted on arrival and the car was taken into the valet car park and our bags taken to the room (which due to the configuration of the hotel is a good service and must take some organising). The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was good
It was a long way to the bedroom via various stairs and lifts. Any older and I would have been leaving bread crumbs out so I could find my way back.

Very well located, this historic hotel was a comfortable base from which to explore Rouen. The decor is an interesting blend of the ancient core of the hotel combined with the rebuilding required by the bombing in 1944. Straightforward hotel, adequately staffed and reasonably priced.
no identifiable shortcomings

The location is fantastic so close to everything with a car valet service which was really helpful
Not enough plugs in the room for you to charge phones etc
