For the area, this is a great hotel. Comfy beds and a plush feeling room. The food in the bar/restaurant downstairs is good too. Breakfast looked fantastic.
No integrated air con. My room didn't have any windows that opened and the portable air con unit in the room was incredibly loud. My room was at the front which is overlooking the main road which is an incredibly busy road.

Breakfast was very nice, room was very nice and comfortable. Staff were very polite at all times
We were happy with everything on our stay……. A bit of music in the beer garden would of been nice as we sat out in the sun but that’s not a negative just personal choice as it was a nice day.

Great food and comfortable room but noisy due to high street traffic
Noise levels from the street and access from the car park. My husband has a stiff leg and found the teams down the steps a hit difficult

always brilliant. comfortable bed, lovely shower room, locally produced toiletries, best bacon for breakfast. in centre of town with parking. Room was next to main road but was lovely and quiet. Historical Georgian building- stunning. excellent staff.
having to leave.

Very nice rooms. Parking welcome.
Playing the loud 80's soft rock in the restaurant was baffling! The Darkness guitar riffs were drowning out any chance of conversation. We rushed our meal and left ASAP.

All the meals were excellent and a good portion.
The staff were very kind and friendly.
Would have liked more comfy chairs in our room.

The property obviously has an ongoing issue which needs addressing . The stench of sewage permeated the hotel and rooms.
on the Tuesday I had to escape my room as the stench was so bad that I
needed fresh air only to return to be told that I couldn’t enter as the hotel was closed!
I explained that I was staying at the property and was told I was able to retire to my room, the room I had just escaped from which was engulfed in the aroma of sewage !
I am also a disabled person there was no lift and I had to struggle with my suitcase on arrival and departure on both occasions.
I shan’t return the problem here seriously needs addressing and I would like a refund!

the ambience of this hotel has the perfect balance of understated elegance. A blend of character, provenance with modern and comfortable touches. I loved everything about this stay. the staff were exceptional. the bar man at front of house ( who had given such a warm friendly welcome when we had stopped for coffee and snack that we booked a few weeks later). the chef produces plentiful and exceptional food. the bar and restaurant are great rooms for dining but our room was exceptional. I can’t thank the team enough.
there was nothing that I could find fault with, from the easy and plentiful parking, quirky layout, approachable staff, well appointed rooms.

Stayed here before. It's getting tired now and lost its vavavoom. Noisey at night overpriced for what you get.
