We had a room with a private onsen and there’s also an open air private onsen in the resort. It was so completely relaxing, the whole place is so clean and the staff were amazing. It was a perfect place to unwind after a busy stay in Tokyo.

Loved the property, from the moment you walk in, shoes off, kimono on, it felt traditional and a true step into Japanese culture. Staff were lovely, and the facilities were fantastic. The hotel was very easy to get to - via bus from Takayama and a short walk through the beautiful natural springs town, even saw some hikers soaking their feet in the local warm stream. A beautiful place, highly recommend. But stay at least two nights. One night isn’t enough.

Experiência única na vida. Todos deveriam experimentar.
Localização do quarto.

The resort is beautiful, and the onsen is very enjoyable. As well as the public baths, there are private indoor and outdoor baths that we really enjoyed. The room was lovely and huge - yet cosy - with a stunning view of the mountains.
Included in the price we booked breakfast and dinner. Although everything was delicious, we found the quantity to be too big and there wasn't any choice. Some might find it a bit frustrating that you have to grill or cook much of the food yourself both for breakfast and dinner every day.

Great facilities and fantastic staff
Food
4.5
Facilities were excellent, dinner and breakfast plan were awesome. Staff was very helpful in helping us navigate the different dishes in our meal. We had a room with a private bath. Very relaxing stay.
It would be helpful if there was more signage identifying the hotel. The sign was a bit weathered and we walked past it.

This is not a Ryokan in the true sense but it gets close. The room is big with its own small onsen/bathtub. It's very clean and comfortable. The outdoor onsen is nice. The indoor ones we didn't try (we only stayed one night). The beds are real mattresses. Breakfast is generous and in Kaiseki-style. We didn't book dinner at the hotel. Would recommend.
Nothing comes to mind. But we only stayed one night and didn't eat dinner at the hotel.

Breakfast is good
The Private Onsen has lots of bugs and leaves, not so clean

We had a huge room with an incredible view onto gorgeuous nature. It felt so private. Our room also had a circular bathtub. Ultimate luxurious experience. The food was also 5 star. The private onsen we used as a couple was really dreamy, this we reserved at the reception desk for specific times and we got a timeslot of 30min, but was more than enough. The communal onsen was beautiful and has seperated male and female. When we there in the ealry morning, it was almost empty. I thought the staff were very helpful and kind. They helped us to forward our luggage to another destination.
The town is not nice. Hirayu waterfalls is really beatifu however and not far away. We decided to walk. This hotel is a great place to stay for a couple nights.

Excellent experience. The staff, room, hotspring, meal, service...Everything is great!

The in room onsen and the Comfy bed. The room size is big with a good view of greenery and the mountain view
The in room onsen should provide privacy for those sharing room with other people. It can easily peep in for those very particular about privacy

The room was fantastic, spacious and with your own private small Onsen with views into the forest. Also really loved the other Onsen in the hotel, wasn’t expecting there to be private outdoor Onsen you can book for half hour slots for free.
a little confusing what to do when you first arrive, if you’re new to Onsen!

Clean, friendly staff, food was incredibly delicious and so much of it!

This resort is one of the best places I have ever stayed at. The room was beautiful, the staff were so friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
I cannot think of anything negative.

- Perfect location in Hirayu Onsen. A splendid mountain view from the restaurant and snow and forest from the rooms
- Big room with private onsen.
- You can rent for free (for 30min) an outdoor private onsen, perfect.
- Big breakfast. They also serve free ramen at 10pm (i didnt try them tho)
- Nice staff
- Super clean
- I know they mentionned it on their room but i prefer fully traditionnal japanese when staying in a ryokan, rather than a mix with western. (most rooms are mix)
- private onsen in your room is a bit small
- Its a big ryokan

I like the vibes of the traditional hotel and the style of the room.
1.electric hot water bottle...the level of grandpa and grandma...ha ha 2. the hair dryers of the public onsen are too old

Great Services and facilities. Good location.

Everything was exceeding my expectation. The staff was very kind. Onsen was excellent, especially the outdoor one.
4.5
The breakfast was copious and tasty - Japanese - and the restaurant, all in wood and nicely-appointed. Views onto greenery and mountains from both the restaurant and the bedrooms (significantly from the huge, private 'onsen-like' bath in the bedroom) were lush. Nothing but peaceful, natural scenery, which was relaxing. The rooms have separate living rooms and bedrooms and are nicely designed, leaning towards minimalism but not spartan. There is a lot of attention to detail everywhere in the hotel. It has many sitting areas and appreciated extras like complimentary coffee in yet another area with a view, complimentary milk near the public 'onsen', and free noodles late in the evening in the lobby area. Prior to Covid, in 2019, we had enjoyed a shuttle bus to Kamikochi, also complimentary. This year we took a bus from Hirayu Bus Station, a few minutes' walk away. Other pluses: private outside baths and good quality yukatas for loan.
Dinner was expensive. Likewise drinks. We had one each of the shabu shabu course and the Hida beef course and 4 slices of meat was really not enough. Hotel food is always expensive but this is a second time visit for me and I wouldn't have the dinner on another occasion.

The room is very spacious and comfortable.
The beds are set up and very comfortable.
The hotspring bathtub is very gorgeous.
The dinner is very delicious for fine dining.
The breakfast was too simple and not enough for us.
