We stayed with our three teenage kids and found the place lovely.
Very spacious downstairs with a gorgeous conservatory.
Nice bedrooms and only (very) small downside was the king size zip & link bed was a little uncomfortable but not enough to put a downer on anything.
Island Homes were very easy to get hold of and very helpful when needed - would happily book with them again.

A well positioned house round the corner from St. Helen's village green, old bookshop, village shop and good pub. A five miinute walk downhill to the Duver and again to St Helen's bay and Baywatch cafe. The house itself was well planned and nicely furnished. In our case plenty of space for toddler, baby and dogs. The narrow stairs posed a bit of a problem for the elderly in our party who would have benefitted from a handrail on the wall side. There did not appear to be an extractor fan above cooker. Parkng outside the house is not guaranteed, some days better than others, but certainly a house we would like to book again.

Our third visit and we would definitely book again, so that speaks volumes. We love the village feel of St Helens and the location and facilities of The Moorings. Spacious property - plenty of room for 6. Residential neighbours either side so it feels very homely. Future visitors will not be disappointed.

Beautiful house in a lovely area of the island, cleam, well equipped house with plenty of space for our 5 person family. Nearby pub is excellent although St Helens needs a coffee shop up and running again!!

Another very enjoyable stay at The Moorings, thank you. Clean, warm, comfortable and cosy. The new cooker was easy to use, the shower, hot and strong, all the rooms warm and cosy, the conservatory particularly so in the afternoon.
A five minute walk to the pub, a bit more to the shore and overall a great location to get out and about on the island. Bembridge, a picturesque 20 minute walk around the bay, for Fish shop, bakery, farm and good coffee shops. Ryde, an interesting bus ride via Seaview, plenty of shops, lovely promenade with great views across to Portsmouth and recommended, The Chocolate Apothecary and Moncton Arts for good coffee and cake.
Thanks again, for a great stay.

We had an amazing weeks holiday staying in this property. It is a bright, airy and stylish house. We’ll equipped and homely. A great location too. We were very lucky with the weather so actually didn’t need to venture very far. The beach, a few cafes and a pub more or less on your door step. We will be back.

A lovely stay
Opened the front door and was thrilled straight away. Conservatory was a real bonus to relax in. Comfortable beds. Our stay was during the quieter month of May so we were able to park right outside every day.

Great House, Great Location
Had a wonderful Easter week at the Moorings, the house is perfect for a family of 4 and a dog, plenty of space, very clean, tastefully decorated and very well equipped.
Parking was a slight concern but turned out to be fine.
Only gripe is with Island Holiday Homes, not the owners - We left our dog in for an hour or so while we went to a restaurant on our last day. Whilst on the way back to the house, received a call from Island Holiday Homes stating that they had a complaint form a neighbour that our dog was barking incessantly for hours on end and that we should have not left our dog unattended in the premises.
This is at odds with the guidance provided with the owners that clearly state that dogs can be left unattended so long as they are kept in the cool of the dining room and not allowed access to the rest of the house, which we adhered to - Clearly Island Holiday Homes need to work closer with the owner so as not to contradict guidance. as a result we felt uncomfortable staying at the house and left earlier than planned resulting in increased ferry costs.
It is a shame that such a perfect week was tainted at the end of the stay, but we would heartily recommend the house to anyone We love St Helens and Bembridge and the Moorings will be our first choice when we next visit!

Glad We Came Back!
We stayed here just before the pandemic in February 2020 and always planned to return as we were so impressed. The house was even better this time - very tastefully redecorated (gave me some ideas on interior design!) and I especially loved the variety of quirky lampshades throughout. We visit the Island often to visit family and the Moorings will definitely be our second home. Big thanks to Island Holiday Homes for their excellent customer care - we had to reschedule our visit from February due to the storms, and this was done sympathetically, efficiently and at very little cost - I was so impressed with the service provided

Cosy Winter Stay
The house was really clean and nicely decorated, with good wifi and some board games in the conservatory. Having a living room, large kitchen diner and also a conservatory meant there was plenty of space to find a quiet corner, or spend time together. We felt very comfortable there. The house itself and the road it was on were quiet (the whole island was very quiet at that time of year.) We had a very nice walk to the nearest beach, fish and chips from the mobile van that visited the green and we enjoyed looking in the second hand bookshop around the corner. The nearby village shop was useful for bits and pieces that we needed.

A fabulous family home in a great location!
We had a fabulous time staying The Moorings back in August. It really was like being home from home! The Moorings is a very well quipped house that has a homely feel with lots of comfort. The surroundings were outstanding and it’s very well located for exploring. We even made friends with the neighbours! It was my first time on the Island and I can honestly say I’m smitten! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.

A wonderful chilled stay in St Helens
The Moorings was a fantastic house and St Helens provided an excellent base for our adventures on the island. We stayed at the house with 2 small boys and the bunk room worked well for them as did the conservatory for a large play space.
We also brought two dogs and the set up was great for them and the Duver being just down the road was perfect for walks. It was also really good to have a dog friendly beach to use at St Helens so they could cool down in the hot weather.
The house is beautifully decorated. Only slight negative was that the bathroom was a little basic and with 4 adults using it got quite tired after a few days. The shower was powerful but the controls were tricky to use with wet hands.
We were blessed with warm weather during our stay and missed having a BBQ to use in the lovely garden. I tried to cook steaks etc in the kitchen on the hob and the smoke alarm kept going off every few seconds as its so close to the kitchen, so maybe that's a small improvement that could be made. Other than that, we loved it and had a really happy time there.

The house was clean, thoughtfully decorated, well appointed and very comfortable. The kids and grownups all enjoyed it and felt very at home. There’s a great pub about 5 mins walk away and the beach can be access via the coastal path at the bottom of the hill. We’d stay here again.

Beautiful house in great location
A beautiful and very well looked after house that was perfect for our holiday. Everything was of great quality, from the furniture to the crockery. The extra touches such as a dishwasher and washing machine made travelling with a young toddler so much easier and the conservatory became our favourite sun spot. Would love to come back.

A fantastic stay!
This was our first visit to IOW as a family and it didn't disappoint! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The house is in a fabulous location and has everything you could want! The information provided by Sara & Tom of what to do, where to go was so useful, especially for finding the dog friendly beaches! We were also really lucky with the weather which topped off a lovely, relaxing week!
We will definitely be coming back!!

Excellent family holiday
The property was very well set up for the family of two adults, three children, 6years, 3years and 1year and the dog. There was no problem parking on the road outside and ideal layout of house and enclosed garden with garden furniture. We brought our own BBQ. Would definitely use again.

Fantastic holiday at The Moorings is St. Helens
We had a super holiday staying at The Moorings, St. Helens. The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We loved the conservatory and garden also. We would definitely like to stay again, St. Helens is gorgeous and a very good central point to visit the rest of the Island. We can highly recommend it!

A great family house in St Helens
The house felt spacious, was well equipped and very clean. It was tastefully decorated and had a lovely little garden out the back with furniture to relax on and eat outside. Great location near the green in St Helens and a few little shops, a great restaurant and a pub. Super spot to walk down to the Duver and beaches. As a family of four, this house was perfect for our needs and we would definitely recommend it.

A excellent place to stay
A lovely, warm, clean house that we would love to use again when we next visit the IOW. St Helen's is an ideal location for us as some family members live either in or close to the vlllage. But St Helen's is also a lovely quiet village in itself, with good views andwalks including a 5 minute walk to the beach. Our dog was very happy!
All parts of the island are accessible from here by road and as well as a well supplied village post office/ general shop / cafe, a supermarket is 5 minutes drive away. The village pub is busy with lots of activities such as music nights and pool table, but it also overlooks the village green and cricket pitch allowing you in the summer to sit outside and enjoy the view, cricket and your food and drink. Not bad eh? Although the pub does face fierce competition for good beer and food locally with The Village Inn and The Crab and Lobster in 5 minutes drive down the road(1/2hr walk) Bembridge (both well worth checking out and also dog friendly).
The Moorings was a lovely house, great kitchen and bathroom with warm comfortable sitting room and bedrooms and generally 'well done out'. We particularly appreciated the helpfulness of the owners and Island Homes in notifying us and then offering at the last minute, flexibility on our dates of stay due to the bad weather. As it was, we were only delayed by a day, but their understanding made the trip much less stressful.
Thank you and hopefully, see you again
