This is a fantastic B&B - great location, clean, homely and lovely staff. Notable attention to detail with provisions and furnishings. Would highly recommend!

Excellent position for town centre, many takeaways chippy etc just around the corner
No onsight parking managed to park outside on road after working day had finished otherwise its a 10-15 minute walk across town centre from public car park

The property was beautifully presented and immaculately clean. The location was close to the centre of town. The hosts Iain and Jack were very friendly and helpful and resolved a small issue we had promptly. The room had a lovely ambience, we arrived to classic fm on in the room. There were numerous quality toiletries available to use. There is a stunning drawing room where you can sit and relax or read. Good base for exploring Dartmoor.

The breakfast was tasty. We were made welcome with flowers in the room and Classic FM on the radio!

This was the most relaxing and wonderful few days in as many years as I can remember.
The lads were so attentive and helpful.
The drawing room a haven with a beer and a book.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were pristine and the bed so very comfortable.
No stone was left unturned, with a pletherer of creams, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and potions. A tea and coffee station was wonderful.
But the decor of this home was just perfect.
A perfect stay- and amazing value.
There was NOTHING not to like

Iain and Jack were the absolute stars of One Drake Road, and everything was extraordinary, so that’s saying a lot.
They are jovial and warm, welcoming and familiar and they gave us the best advice for every facet of our stay. They are the Devon and Cornwall tour guides that we didn’t expect, but certainly needed and we are SO grateful. Every time we left or arrived, the boys would pop their heads out of the front door to make sure we were all sorted. Having this sort of service made it feel like a 5 star hotel.
The property was also INCREDIBLE. We didn’t want to leave. It was clean and comfortable and homely, the boys have done an exceptional job on the design. It feels like home, but better decorated. The toiletries were out of this world. I didn’t need to wash my hair, but I did, because smelling like geranium felt like an opportunity I shouldn’t miss out on.
We cannot wait to come back.

The house was furnished to a very high standard, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The location was very central, with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. The owners were very friendly, apart from the incident below!
There was an uncomfortable moment when I opened the sash window in the room. It was very heavy, and could have injured me had I not been very careful. Only later did I see the sign advising guests not to open the window.

Breakfast was good value, sausage muffin and crispy bacon muffin delicious. Free to come and go as we pleased. Treated as family, nothing too much trouble. Being able to have use of drawing room was bonus, encouraged to invite our friends in for coffee.
Car parking near the house is a problem. I'm struggling to find anything else we didn't like. Oh it rained every day.

We received a super welcome from Ian and Jack. The history of the house is fascinating, making the stay that bit more special. We were in the apartment where the fragrant welcome strikes you as you enter. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished, retaining a rustic charm inkeeping with the period of the house. The small 'kitchen area' is all you need, great fridge too. We were able to use the living room upstairs, so felt as if we were more than just guests. Ian and Jack are the consumate hosts, with nothing being too much to ask. If you're staying in Tavistock, this is the place to stay.
Parking was hit and miss outside the house, but we were fine with that as there are cheap carparks nearby. We did park the car in the available spaces between 16:00 and 10:00.

I highly recommend this beautiful guest house to anyone visiting the area. The owner couldn't have been any nicer when I arrived, spending time showing me around and explaining where everything was.
The location is right in the heart of Tavistock. So everything is all within a short walking distance.
The room was lovely with the most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in. Everything was exceptionally well presented with high standards of cleanliness.
I really couldn't recommend One Drake Road highly enough.
As you can probably gather from what I have written previously I really struggle to find any faults.
The only thing which I found slightly annoying was the guests in the next room. They were a tad loud when they arrived back in from town. However, thankfully it didn't last long and soon the old house was silent again.
That was just individual guests though and shouldn't reflect badly on this wonderful guest house.

Breakfast good but would have preferred option of butter for croissant. Also, only 1 standard tea bag in room and no sugar for my 3-day stay.
Noise from other rooms more evident than expected. Unfortunately, a very noisy Japanese guest could be clearly heard talking at length on the phone at 7.30 two mornings running.

A great venue and location in the pretty town of Tavistock. Opulently decorated throughout with comfortable beds and good facilities. Hosts were friendly and helpful but not intrusive.
There were no sugar sachets with the tea and coffee ( a minor detail) and I would have liked a box of tissues.

Self check-in. Interior design. Bathroom. Toiletries.
Bed was slightly too firm for me as a side sleeper (my husband was fine). It would have been a bit easier to eat breakfast as a family at a table in the drawing room, although the sofas were comfortable, it was slightly awkward. The ambience overall was lovely though, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

we popped out for breakfast.
Jack was brilliant though in allowing us to use a corner of the fridge for milk etc., thank you!!
Ooh gosh, difficult to add anything at all.
We just loved it all. Maybe a slightly thicker mattress topper, (though difficult to keep clean, I am sure.)
