الشقة مريحة جداً وقريبة من المحال والكافيهات، كما توجد سهولة في الوصول إلى الموقع. النظافة عالية ومدخل العمارة نظيف ومعطّر. أكثر ما أعجبني هو تعامل المضيّفين. الأستاذ خالد مضيّف كريم ومحترم ولديه فريق عمل رائع وخدوم. بالتأكيد ستكون Smile Apartment 2 هي وجهتنا كلما زرنا القاهرة المحروسة. أوصي بها.

I definitely recommend staying in Smile Apartment if you want to be in New Cairo, which is growing!

Very modern, clean rooms in the perfect location. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The building is very secure and only accessible to those with keys, along with security cameras throughout the common areas for additional safety. Great room with private bathroom for a decent price per night.

The directions may be difficult to find for guests who do not speak or read Arabic. Other than the name of the building itself, the street name is in Arabic which left me and my driver guessing which exact building it was. Thankfully we found it from communicating with the host who responded promptly with the pin.

The apartment was clean, it had all necessary amenities (fridge etc), the staff was very friendly and helpful. Shopping malls nearby, American University was very close, 10 minutes by foot. Excellent value for money.

There are a lot of sites under construction in the area, not a lot of things to do besides going to malls.

Quiet place

This place is very quiet which is so rare in Cairo. Perfect to relax and have a good sleep! The owner Mamdouh was very helpful.

The room and the bed sheets were not as clean as I expected.

Recommended by all means! For me, it was a perfect accommodation during the conference at The American University in Cairo. For anyone attending any event at AUC, just the right choice. Just 10 minutes pleasant walk from Smile Apartment 2 to AUC Gate 4 (Pepsi Gate). At the same time, after my 5 days stay, and after talking to so many colleagues who stayed elsewhere in Cairo, Smile 2 appears to be a very good choice for anyone who comes to Cairo. 1. The Location: easily reachable by car from Cairo International airport, no need to go through the heavy traffic in the city centre. Less than 30 minutes’ drive by car or taxi. A quiet little street, less than 100 meters walk and one is on AUC avenue, the University is just across the road. For those doing sightseeing in the city centre: around 45 minutes by taxi to Zamalek island, for example. Make sure to double the time during rush hours if there are meetings/events to be on time for, just in case. Cairo traffic may be unpredictable. And still: the apartment, the service, the value for money, and most of all, the owner and his staff are so great, Smile 2 is worth choosing even if one focuses on the city centre. 2. The neighborhood: decent and safe any time of the day. The part of New Cairo next to AUC campus still has some areas being developed, but overall, it already has everything: the shops, the cafes, good roads and very nice sidewalks next to AUC. 3. Apartment quality: excellent room. Very functional. Comfortable bed, the just right mattress, pillows and blanket – I have always slept well. No noises, alien smells or whatever. Very clean laundry and room itself. The sink, the shower, the air conditioning- in a word, everything in good working condition. There was a fridge, a microwave oven and an electric kettle in my room. Just remember to get teabags and sugar if needed. 4. The service: great, responsible and highly responsive owner and staff.

Since there is no Smile apartment sign by the entrance, and there are in fact two Smile apartment properties, 230 meters away from each other, it might be a bit of a challenge for the taxi driver to find the one you need, especially if one checks in at night. The fix for that: ask the owner which one you are given a room in before arriving, and save a screenshot of the googlemaps directions for the taxi/shuttle driver upon arrival. It is very helpful that at least 1 staff is on duty by the entrance 24/7, that is how I understood I reached the right place at night)

Smile Apartment, the best name for the best place.

The staff was very helpful and welcoming. Mr Khalid welcomed me himself, and the room was very clean and tidy. The area is fancy and there is no noise. The apartment is close to many malls and facilities. The price is very reasonable given the level of elegance and also compared to similar properties. I strongly recommend staying there. An experience that I'll definitely repeat.

Lot of amenities and easy to communicate with host

The host was very flexible. I had a sudden change of plans and he was open to a partial refund. I didn't expect to receive any refunds since I had cancelled during my stay there. The room was nice and had many amenities. Has everything you need to be comfortable in your room.

There are non smoking rooms, but you can still smell cigarette smoke coming into your room from other rooms in the building. This is hard to avoid with any place because everyone smokes inside buildings in Egypt so you'll be hard pressed to find a true smoke free building. Not really a con for this place since it happens everywhere.
