This place is ideal for any Kyoto vacation- a peaceful, beautiful, tucked-away group of small houses perfect for our large family gathering. Easy access to the city sites and amazing restaurants, including the incomparable Tsukioka.

A facility in a great, historical location of Kyoto to see temples and downtown within walking-distance; very nice hosts😎

We rented two of the houses for a party of 8, including one toddler. It was set up beautifully for us, spotless, and so comfortable! Or house had one bedroom with futon beds and one with Western style double bed. Kitchen was small but had everything we needed. A quiet back street (with a courtyard!) but easily walking to everything. And the goat was wonderful! Very accommodating and responsive! Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

We had a fantastic stay at this property in Kyoto. The location is quiet and peaceful but easy access to public transport and the rest of the city.
We stayed in 2 of the houses and they were clean and comfortable. Mika (the host) was extremely helpful throughout our stay and even helped us to deal with a problem we had with a restaurant booking.
Would definitely recommend 100%
Thank you!

We were personally greeted for check in and the process went smoothly. We loved the location as it was convenient to resteraunts and public transportation to see all the sites. The home has been in the owner's family for 15 generations and gave us the authentic Japanese felt experience. The owner was very hospitable and respectful.

Kei has a wonderful collection of properties that are central to everything you want to see and do in Kyoto. It was a fantastic homebase location. We rented 2 houses to accommodate our group, it was intimate and gave the space we needed for 9 people.
The property owner and assistants speak English fluently and are so helpful with recommendations and support. We couldn't have been happier with the experience. We highly recommend this property.

We are a great group of 3 families with kids ranging from 8 to 17. We stayed at Kei's property and had plenty of room for each family and to get together in the evenings. Kei, Satoru and Mika, were helpful and responsive. Kei and Mika met us on our day of arrival, to show us around and to show us how to work the appliances. The place is clean and comfortable. The area is next to shrines and temples, making it easy to walk to the sights. This was a perfect location with a very authentic neighborhood feel. I highly recommend this property and location.

Our family of 10 (8 adults and 2 children) stayed at the 3 clusters at this property. First of all, thank you Kei-san (the owner) for your warm welcome and hospitality. Before arriving at Uan, I had a numerous communications with Kei-san and he was very swift in responding to all of my questions. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere of the location even though it is in the middle of Kyoto where there are many tourists. Major sightseeing sites such as Kiyomizu Temple and Nijojo were within a short distance, and we enjoyed strolling around the Shijo area and ate a variety of delicious food at Nishiki Market. We were also grateful for your arrangement of taxis when they are scarce due to the fall tourist season. My family could not have been happier staying at Uan. We visited each other's houses freely and enjoyed the family atmosphere, particularly my grandchildren had fun with their uncles, aunts and grandparents. We recommend Uan for anyone who would like to experience authentic Japanese living. We give the highest mark to Uan! Thank you again.

We were thrilled to rent these houses for our group of teachers who were touring Japan. Kei Nakamura was very responsible and helpful, the location is quite good yet quiet in a lovely neighborhood. Houses were charming and updated. We would definitely rent from Mr. Nakamura again.

Our group of 21 booked 4 of the 5 houses, and it was absolutely the best stay during our 10 day trip in Japan. We regret not planning another night there.
Everyone house is unique and everyone loved all the space we got after staying in tiny hotels in Tokyo and Osaka. Each house had their own washer/dryer so that was a big plus! Just plan accordingly as a complete wash/dry cycle can take 5+ hours lol.
Kei was there to greet us at check-in and my only gripe is that the listing showed check-in at 11:00, check-out at 4 which should be reversed. We had some time to kill before check in at Kyoto Station.
We all want to go back to Kyoto just to stay here! :)

I cannot say strongly enough how great this stay was. We had excellent communication with the owner, on arrival he was there to provide detailed information. The places were stocked with everything we needed and the houses were clean. The location is just about perfect for Kyoto and we were pleased with the hosts response to any request.
Honestly, a stay in Kyoto doesn’t get better than this.
