Good location, relatively close to bus terminal, restaurants, and food shop. The owner speaks English and was helpful in arranging transportation and advising where to change money or buy food. His restaurant taste is different than ours, but the other advice was very useful.
Our room was upstairs, small and was terribly hot with its metal roof. It is called "deluxe room", but it certainly is not that. The "inner courtyard and patio" view means looking at the grey roofs below. There were no chairs to sit on and no shelves or any place where we could put our stuff. We were promised to be moved to a ground floor room the next day, but it has not happened.

Staff was helpful and friendly
The air/heater was both noisy and leaked condensation

Good value for budget travelling. Beautiful garden.
As might be expected at this price range basic accommodation could do with an update.

Owner went above and beyond to assist us reach airline company by phone regarding rescheduled flight to Buenos Aires. Location is great, front garden is nice. Amenities were clean, room with wooden ceiling and floor provided a pleasant rural feel.
Complimentary coffee and shampoo would have been nice.

great location, easy walking distance to the bus station and restaurants. The owner was brilliant, very helpful and informative. Good wi fi.

The owner was cheerful.
There was no water in the shower or in the sink if other guests were taking a shower. The owner explained that you also have to turn off the air conditioning to take a shower as there was limited electricity to run the systems. The only window in the bathroom opened into the office - little privacy.

Good value for money. Really friendly and helpful owner. Some ants and cockroaches but I guess you have to expect that in this area.

Comfortable and good location and clean.
Good value
I arrived out of hours and had emailed ahead to say that I was going to be late
Even so it took a long time to get hold of someone to open the door, I thought that I was going to be locked out and would need to find a different hotel.
They were extremely nice and polite, but would have been useful to have not to bang on random doors in the hope of finding someone to answer

Sitting outside
After reading the outstanding reviews about this place we decided to
book the apartment with 2 bedrooms for 3 nights for just the two of
us.
Upon arrival the owner Blas, gave us a friendly welcome and gave useful
advice on how to get around.
Entering the apartment we found the interior to be more basic than we
expected. Although in fact spacious, there is simply no comfortable
seat to rest after a busy day out. For that, the small garden is
certainly more appropriate unless the mosquitos are out. The lighting
in the unit is functional but distinctly disagreeable to us with
fluorecent or bare led armatures.
More important than these minor issues is that the shower heads are (to
us) bizarre versions that heat the water electrically directly within
the head. Electrical wires are fed from the wall into the head with
truly minimal isolation. The combination of water, a humid environment
and high voltage electricity is one that should make even somebody
without a MSEE cringe. I decided not to take showers at all! In
bathroom #2 the shower head didn't heat (defective?). We might have
been tempted to take cold showers if it hadn't been for the presence of
a family of 'uninvited guests' (see picture) that apparently had easy
access there. We kept its door firmly closed...
The kitchen seems to be a smaller and rudimentary one rebuild upon an
older base. Unfortunately that left an unmarked, dangerous height
difference that you can easily trip over esp. in the dark and hurt
yourself. There is no coffee making facility as advertised, however we
were kindly offered to have (foc) coffee across the road. This is no
replacement to making coffee whenever you want. The badly corroded gas
bottle in open view underneath the furnace does not inspire confidence
for cooking which we did not attempt.
Finally, be warned that, as mentioned on the Booking.

The location was close to the main drag, but that was also a noise detriment. Parking was onsite.
Bed too hard, pillows too soft (I realize that both are subjective and hardly any single bed or pillow will suit everyone). Dangerous shower head with built in water heater that had exposed wires (see photo). Yes, the wires had electrical tape on them and maybe I'm being a bit paranoid here, but I can't imagine any electrical inspector OKing such a situation and I'm not about to get into a situation with even the slightest possibility of electrocution. I do hope the owner will correct this problem for future guests. As a contractor, this wouldn't be a difficult or expensive fix. Also, one couldn't run the AC or use the shower at the same time (no problem because there was no way I'd use that shower). The worst part was the extreme motorcycle noise that lasted nearly all night. A white noise machine and earplugs had minimal effect. A double pane window would make a huge difference. Ultimately, we decided to leave after one night and I thank Booking.com for negotiating with the owner so that we only paid for one night. The check out was brusque, but not unfriendly. I should also point out the owner's insistence on taking cash which forced us to pay approximately a $10 ATM fee; he also insisted that we could get the VAT back. Mr Blas comes off very friendly upon arrival, but his comments about VAT reimbursement are simply untrue based on my research; it appears that he's skimming that VAT for his own personal use and thus adding 20% or so to his bottom line. I would avoid this place at all costs. The following night we wound up in a lovely hotel suite on the Brazil side for the same amount we paid at Posada Portal.

The owner is super nice and helpful. He a genuinely nice guy. The rooms are fine for a budget stay. The AC’s blow cold. The wifi works well. The Netflix stopped working at some point and there isn’t much in the way of English channels. But one wouldn’t really expect that I suppose. The beds are comfortable. As budget hotel go, this one is pretty good.
