Very private location that should be sold as an experience rather than a simple hotel stay. There are 5 rooms on the island and you are far from everything. Private reef, where you can swim alone with fishes. Dinner and lunch looks like eating in a family house than a hotel chain. Really cozy atmosphere and good dishes. Breakfast amazing. Intimacy is guaranteed on this places and for less Than big hotel chain you can really live a dream.
Due to the fact that is on a Motu (island) and the closest location is 20 min by boat, I think that is impossible to sell the room without the half board packages. This rate should be included when you reserve because you do not have actually have choices unless you want stay without meals.

Location is absolutely outstanding. close to the barrier reef for incredible coral garden snorkeling full of fishes. Cabins were very private and spacious. Direct access to water. Able to see sunrise and sunset from the motu (island). they had kayaks and other water gear available at no charge. Maxime, who is in charge was very attentive.
The obligatory half board was very expensive and in our opinion it did not reflect the food quantity, quality. The first night we waited a whole hour to be served. There seemed to be one staff to cook for 13 people. The kayaks and paddle boards need upgrading. Everything else was outstanding. We loved our stay. We know there was a change of ownership and the new team are improving the place.

Impeccable service, superb location, excellent food, fantastic amenities.
There isn't anything I can think of that needs to be improved.

This was by far one of the best places my family has ever stayed in our life! The island was just beautiful! Max was extremely helpful and making sure that we all had what we needed. The food was great. The colors of the water around the island were breathtaking. We were able to snorkel right outside our room and see colorful fish and even some reef sharks. Truly an amazing memory that we will never forget our time there. Such a beautiful island!!

Great stay at this private island, private and spacious. Superb food. There is excellent snorkeling just at the doorstep, and so much marine life around the island. Definitely worth it.
There should be more selections for vegetarians.

The EDEN Private Island is simply stunning! Located on a remote Motu, very private and relaxing. Maxime and his team are very discreet and attentive.
Our bungalow was spacious, clean and offered everything you could wish for: a fantastic terrasse with view to Bora Bora (magnificent sunsets!), a hammock in the shade (very cosy!), bathroom, living room, bedroom with a comfortable bed.
You can borrow kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and snorkeling gear for free and explore the surroundings.
The hotel‘s restaurant offers a la carte lunch and a daily surprise dinner. We really enjoyed the food. Note: dinner is fish-based by default, but you can ask for alternatives if you don‘t eat fish. I usually don‘t eat fish voluntarily but gave it a try at EDEN, and I really enjoyed it. :)
We definitely want to come back here. EDEN was the biggest positive surprise during our 5-weeks tour through French Polynesia. The place is ultra relaxing. I recommend 3 or 4 night here if you have the chance.
No complaints at all. The place is perfect!

We so enjoyed our stay here! The sunsets were amazing, and we appreciated how removed and relaxing it felt to be out on this little motu. All the staff was so kind!
Recommendations for the future: would have liked a hairdryer available in the room, and ability to order a cocktail in the afternoon/evening outside of meal times

The bungalow was clean and nicely furnished. The bed was comfortable with soft linens. The water pressure was good even though the temperature control was uneven. This did not bother us. The Moto was well maintained and beautiful. We enjoyed having free use of the kayaks every day. The food was very good. The staff was friendly and warm.
The only negative we experienced was the structure of the excursions offered. The website did not give details on what was available. We had presumed that we could sign up for only the excursions that were of interest to us. When we arrived it was revealed to us that all of the excursions had to be done in one day as it was difficult to arrange for multiple boat trips for 2 people. Since we were unable to participate in all of the days excursion choices, particularly the snorkeling, but were expected to pay full price, we felt it was not worth it. We were told that the new owners would be updating the website to include the breakdown of the excursions pricing so that it will help future guests make better decisions on what they choose do while staying there.

We were greeted very well and that gave us a very great vibe of the remote island experience. Everything was exactly as described and illustrated for this hotel.
The waters around the island was super shallow to be able to swim without hitting coral. One would need to go far out to be able to swim in deeper waters.

Spent 3 nights at this beautiful place. It really is spectacular. Manu and Marine are fantastic as are their team. The food was divine, rooms very comfortable and to sleep listening to the sounds of the waves in the distance. Kayaked over to the uninhabited island, used the paddle boards, snorkelled and also did the day trip to Taha'a to take in the pearl factory, distillery, vanilla plantation and snorkelling in the coral gardens as well as lunch on another island. Most people seemed to do 2-3 nights. In hindsight, I really wish we had done 4 or 5. The feel reminded me of the Maldives of the 80s and 90s but with the added bonus of gastronomic food and hot showers.

Breakfast was croissants, coffee and eggs, plus hot chocolate for the kids. The manager and his family are very approachable and sweet. My kids enjoyed playing with their 6year old daughter.
The rooms are basic although functioned well enough. No AC. All rooms overlooked the water.

What an amazing experience! Our own cozy tahitian bungalow on a private motu, in a gorgeous lagoon, right by the coral reef, with sunrises and sunsets that blew our minds. We will long remember swimming with baby reef sharks and kayaking between 2 reefs... Our hosts Marine and Emmanuel made everything perfect including delicious, healthy meals. Pirogue d'Api has the advantages of an exclusive luxury boutique hotel with the friendliness of a stay with friends.
I had some work to do, so a faster internet connection would have helped. But I understand that mosts guests would prefer to disconnect in such a beautiful environment!

this property exceeded our expectations. the staff is so nice and thoughtful, the grounds are immaculate, the rooms are very clean and the beds are so comfortable with great sheets and the food is delicious! none of this easy to pull off on such a remote motu! we will be coming back.

Quiet and secluded small motu, surrounded by a gorgeous lagoon. Very comfortable cottage, delicious food, wine and cocktails, excellent service in every way. The lagoon was lovely for snorkeling, kayak, or paddle board. it was a heavenly place.
Nothing, we loved it.

Marie, Philip, Bernardo, Serge and the whole team was amazing - so kind, informative and pleasant.
Definitely one of the most amazing places we've been!

Exceptional staff, in particular Bernardo, who provided a warm welcome and arranged our tours. Our bungalow was beautiful and well-appointed, and meals were delicious. Being on a private motu with only 4 bungalows was a magical and unforgettable experience!

If you’re the type of traveler who values a magical, once-in-a-lifetime experience, reserve your stay at Hotel La Pirogue Api! There are only five bungalows total on this cozy, private island accessible by a 30-minute boat ride from the Raiatea airport (and located 10 minutes by boat from Taha’a. Everything here is picture-perfect and like a dream! The grounds are meticulously maintained and the bungalows are well-appointed with indoor and outdoor furnishings, including very comfy bedding and pillows, an electric tea kettle (with coffee, tea and bottled water provided), a mini fridge and soft, fluffy towels.
You will feel welcomed from the moment you arrive, and your every need will be attended to! Our hosts greeted us with fresh juice and fragrant leis upon our arrival, while our bags were quickly whisked away to our bungalow. We were treated to a French breakfast each morning and a delicious, multi-course French dinner prepared by Chef each evening. All tours were easily arranged upon request, including transportation from the island. At checkout, our bags were collected from our room and we were sent off with shell necklaces.
The intimate setting and amazing hospitality here truly makes you feel like you’re visiting relatives who just happen to own their own island!
We didn’t want to leave this idyllic place! We stayed in the Family Bungalow, which provided two beds and a twin-sized sleeper sofa. Situated at the end of the island, we had a panoramic ocean view to watch both sunrise and sunset from the floor-to-ceiling windows, open patio doors or balcony. We were situated less than ten sandy beach steps away from the island’s private, protected lagoon where we observed a gorgeous coral garden filled with tropical fish, stingrays, sea cucumbers, and reef sharks. We borrowed kayaks, masks and snorkels from our hosts — but we could just as easily simply stand in the lagoon and observe.
What’s not to like? If you find something to complain about here, you’re doing the whole vacation thing wrong!

This place is paradise on earth. Pierre and Aurélie are the friendliest, most detail oriented staff. Breakfast and dinner were of the highest fine restaurant quality. Best place to relax, snorkel, enjoy the sunset, and forget about any trouble in your life !
Nothing.

By far our favorite stay across our 5 island journey in French Polynesia. Room was spacious, private, with snorkeling access right off the deck. Staff incredibly friendly and the food the best we had in Polynesia.
There's very little not to like. Snorkeling and kayaking can be a bit challenging with the shallow waters so watch the tide.
