The cabin is located just 3 miles south of Grand Lake, only a 5 minute drive into town. Venture into Rocky Mountain National Park, located just 6 minutes away or be at the slopes in Winter Park in just 35 minutes!
Our 140 sq ft cabin will give you a taste of tiny living at it's finest. The cabin is stocked with all of the essentials including basic toiletries, towels, linens, and cookware. There is also a small beverage station featuring coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
One parking space is provided per booking. If you plan on bringing a boat/trailer, please inform us ahead of time so we can accommodate a parking space nearby for you.
Things to note: Because of the cabin's easy access to roads, this cabin will not offer absolute silence and seclusion and may not be the place for you. You will hear highway noises during your stay. The cabin has been equipped with a sound machine for you if you are sensitive to the noise at night. In winter, this proximity is appreciated by guests because of the snow. Like most mountain homes in this area, there is also proximity to neighbors.
The cabin has a key-less entry lock. A code will be provided upon booking.
We recommend having a car to get around during your trip. There is phenomenal hiking, wildlife, skiing, and hot springs all within a 30 minute drive (or less) of the cabin!
If you are traveling during the winter months, December through March, we highly recommend an AWD or 4WD vehicle so that you don't have any issues getting over Berthoud Pass. Winter weather can start as early as October and go as late as May. Please check the weather and plan ahead!
For severe weather, we do have a strict cancellation policy as defined by Airbnb. However, we are sensitive to those traveling in the mountains when the weather is capable of shutting down the roads. If highways are closed due to severe weather, we will provide at minimum a partial refund for the night(s) affected by closed roads. If the highways are open, the remaining nights will still be charged full price. Typically, roads are not closed for more than 24 hours at a time.
There is a $300 deposit for the cabin. It is not charged to you upon booking, only reserved in the case of damage or theft. If something gets damaged or broken, please let us know and we will figure out a solution.
**There are two main routes into Grand Lake if you are coming from the East. The quickest way is to take I-70 to Berthoud Pass. Denver to Grand Lake is a 2 hour drive. The second route, over Trail Ridge Road through RMNP is more scenic and costs $25/car. If you drive from Denver, over Trail Ridge Road and into Grand Lake it is about a 3 hour drive.
**Please note that Trail Ridge Road is closed throughout the winter as most of the road is above treeline. Please visit https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/road_status.htm to check daily closures of the road.
Please note that if you cancel a booked reservation, and it is within the timeframe for a full refund, you will receive the refund minus the credit card processing fee of 2.9%.

Property looks nice inside and out, No where to hang clothes at all. No where to put suit cases. Hot water doesn't last long. Was told by host only 20 gallon hot water heater. Dust from dirt road comes in when front window is open . Cabin was Clean. WE were on given only 2 wash cloths and 2 towels for 5 nights. host had 2 more dropped off later. No instructions for hot plate to cook on. We had to contact host .If all of thing's were better we would have enjoyed our stay. I hope this helps everyone who stays in this cabin

The cabin was lovely. Comfy bed, clean, great location and contact with Jordan is easy. Highly recommend if you don't need a lot of space for a short getaway to Grand Lake and surrounding areas.

Cute tiny cabin with everything we needed. Perfect for day trips into the park. As described, close to the main road so there is some traffic noise which dies down at night.

Tiny and no place to place luggage for 2 people.
Door to the bathroom was broken so no privacy.
Microwave slide out was funky.
Was not worth the price we paid.
But Grand Lake is beautiful!

was great, right next to grand lake, unfortunately that trail ridge road was closed so there was no way to get to Estes park in less than three hours. But very cute house, retains heat well.

My Husband and I had a great time staying at the Scarlet Paintbrush! It is a little piece of history that was tastefully decorated and cozy.
Check-in was easy, there were plenty of heating options, great selections for streaming movies/TV and we had everything we needed to cook a meal. It was very close to the activities we had booked while in the area and it was easy to find. The communcation with the host, Jordan, was the best I've experienced at any short term rental and she made sure we had all of the information we needed. We look forward to bringing our family here and staying in the other cabins on the property at Wild Acre Cabins! 🙂

Super cute and cozy little cabin! All that you need is there; the host answers questions almost immediately! 8 minutes to Grand Lake; a little near the highway but traffic thins out after nightfall. I really enjoyed my stay there, and will definitely book it again if I'm in the area! Cool enough at night to sleep well; just leave the windows open after sunset and turn the fan on.

We had a great time at the little Cabin! It was perfect for the two of us! I loved the noice maker with the rain sound and the apps on the TV. We were close to Granby and Grand Lake. We spent time in both! Even being close to the road it was still nice and quiet!

I loved how Jordan replied so quickly on any questions we had. I loved the decor and the "Thank You" little bag that was left for us. We plan to go back this summer, hopefully they'll have some open dates in the late summer.

The cabin was excellent. It had everything you would need. The location was perfect. I wasn't disturbed by the cars passing by because there wasn't much traffic at the time I was there. I would definitely recommend Wild Acres to my friends and family. Grand Lake was a great little town and great people. :)

Great little cabin with a gorgeous view of the lake and mountains. I wish it was a little further off the main road, but that didn’t make the getaway any leas special. The host was excellent. The property was pristine. Great access to Grand Lake and RMNP.

This sweet little place was just perfect for us! It is very well thought out and organized. The front deck was perfect for a morning cup of coffee. Beautiful views and close proximity to shops, restaurants and the lake.
