We could not have been happier (well, if they gave us a million dollars too)!!! The house was well off the road but a true 5 minute walk to many coffee/tea shops, restaurants, shops, and a grocery store. We ate out every night, had some drinks and walked home without worry at all. The local pub (Balmoral Bar) was super friendly and welcoming. The location allowed us to travel all over the Highlands! We will be back.

A beautiful cottage in the lovely town of Ballater. Could not have wished for a more comfortable base for the week. The cottage is very clean and well equipped and both owners and host were more than helpful and accommodating. It’s even better than it sounds honestly!

Lovely bothy that we used as a base whilst we fished on the River Dee. Tucked away off the Braemar Road but local enough to walk to the shops/supermarket/eateries of Ballater. Spacious, clean and tidy bothy that feels like its recently refurbished with car parking for 3 cars. I would certainly use again on future trips. Highly recommended!

Glenbardie Bothy was the perfect getaway for our family of five plus dog. Situated at the end of a gravel drive you could by miles from anywhere but in fact you are only a five minute walk to shops, cafes and restaurants.
The house itself has been renovated brilliantly with space for everyone to be together and also be able to hide away - with two teenagers this was ideal! The kitchen had everything you’d need and the utility room was great for being able to get some washings done after a day of gorge walking.
Ballater is a fantastic little town. We know it well and have holidayed there many times. Our dog had an absolute ball with the many different walks on offer - up hills, through forests and in the river!
I’d highly recommend a stay at Glenbardie Bothy, you don’t be disappointed.

Lovely, clean, well equipped house. 5 mins walk from the centre of Ballater. Lovely walks along the River Dee and Craigendarroch Hill are also 5 mins away and well sign posted.
There are nice shops in Ballater, including very good butchers, ice cream and sweet shops.
We will definitely come back again.

Another very enjoyable week in Ballater which really is a perfect base for numerous interesting walks around this corner of the Cairngorms. Angela made the booking process very straightforward and the accommodation itself is a very welcoming house to come back to after a day in the fresh air. Many thanks (again) - we loved it.

A really well laid out property with modern amenities and comfortable furnishings etc. Quietly 'tucked away' off a main road but very convenient for the village centre and a great base for walking and sightseeing in this wonderfully scenic location.

Had a great stay at the bothy with friends and dog Luna. Property is very modern but still gives you a cosy cottage feel. Very clean and well fitted out with all you need. Lovely drive up to the bothy so very quiet away from road. Great for the dog to explore the grounds in safety when closing the front gates. Close to centre of Ballater. Highly recommended.

This perfectly situated Bothy tucked back from the road at the bottom of Craigendarroch oozes charm. Beautifully furnished with slate and wooden floors and a fantastic open plan living space. We couldn't have been more comfortable. Highly recommend this property.

Visited the bothy during the first week in July. We are a family of five with children aged from 8 to 14 years old. The whole family had a fantastic week away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The facilities in the house are excellent with all our needs easily met; plenty hot water, cottage nice and cozy, beds comfortable and lots of space for the family. All in all a very pleasurable experience – highly recommended.
