The location is incredible, I recommend spending a couple of nights in this little island
The lack of shade in the beach, I suggest to put a couple of sun shades or plant some more trees

Amazing place, amazing staff. You really get the feeling of being on a desert island. Perfect for disconnecting and experiencing a true island lifestyle. Food is amazing, and the people from the small village are very welcoming. Will repeat for sure!
Nothing, is perfect as it is.

Bliskość wody i spokój.
trochę za wysokie ceny jedzenia.

Palvelu oli hyvää ja ystävällistä. Huone oli juuri semmoinen kun varatessa oletettiin. Kuljetus onnistui hyvin saapuessa, sekä lähtiessä. Itse Darocotan on todella kaunis saari.

It is the perfect placeq for someone who is not looking for a crowded touristy place but wants to enjoy the breathtaking beach and the excellent company. Bungalows instead of moldy rooms, facilities are really taken care of and the common place is the best part of the camp! The mood is really chill, relaxing yet always interesting with talks, cardgames and the shipwreck that is just 2 minutes away from the shore.
Even the people staying there were super nice, such as tge people working there - as a solo traveler, it is very important to me! Of course Andy was the nicest but everyone knows it🥰
The matraces were a little thin and the plugins were not in a conveniant place to get to easily. But in the end i barely used them so it was ok🤗

Beautiful beach with good snorkelling at the ship wreck on your doorstep. Good value for money on a small island.
Would be good if there was more shade available during the heat of the day (whenever the sun is up!) as it can be quite a busy place with day tours and visitors.

We had a fantastic experience at this accommodation on a small tropical island, providing nomadic conditions that allowed us to experience what it's like to be shipwrecked. The staff is extremely friendly, the food is superb, and one truly feels like they're in paradise. However, it's not suitable for those seeking comfort and who are afraid of animals, as in this place, we are the guests, and the animals are at home.

To samé i s odjezdem z ostrova.

beautiful place, great beach or coral reef. great service, the owner of the resort, Tom, is a very helpful person

The food cooked by the chef was delicious. We especially loved the lumpia, chop suey, and veggie noodles. The island of Darcotan was extremely beautiful and the staff were very kind as well as helpful.
There were not any other establishments on the island other than Backpackers so be prepared for that. There was no electricity on the island until 6 pm and no wifi.

Wonderful island and I loved the beach hut. Andy the receptionist was outstanding and always available to assist. It back to nature kinda thing, the bed has a mosquito net, so it kept all bugs away. Not sure why people complaining about the ants etc. it’s not a hotel room it’s a beach hut.
There was a staff party (manager partying, and walking around visibly intoxicated) with loud Filipino music and laughs behind the curtain at the reception area. Guests come to this place to relax and listen to nature. I’m sure Tom, the owner will address this matter.
Also workers would start sweeping leaves around the hut as early as 5:50 am. This was way too early, maybe 7am or after would be more appropriate when more or less everyone would start waking up. It wasn’t a big deal but I thought I would mention it.

This place was absolutely amazing. You are literally on a tropical paradise island with the most spectacular snorkeling seconds from your hut. The facilities are basic, but that adds to its charm and the feeling of being out in nature, in my view anyway.
6.0
1. There is a minimum set of products - chips and beer. You can also order a few dishes, such as fried fish.
2. Sea stars lie in the sea literally 20 meters away.
3. Transfer to El Nido is well organized.
1. The hotel area is very small and all the buildings are practically right next to each other.
2. Very noisy neighbors and roosters that scream all night long.
3. Many stray dogs around the area.
4. Coconuts are not cleaned up from the palm trees, and hammocks are tied to them, so people constantly walk around them - it is very irresponsible not to remove them.
5. There are no mirrors anywhere - it's impossible to get ready without one.
6. Often there was no water in the shower after 6 pm.
7. There is no privacy in the toilet, everyone who approaches the door can see you through a 3 cm gap in the center of the toilet bowl!
8. The toilet seats are not covered, so it is assumed that you will sit bare-bottomed on a wet and cold toilet seat.
9. Electricity is only available from 6 pm to 2 am.
10. There is no WiFi, and mobile phone signal reception is very poor.
11. There are no fans in the rooms, so it's very stuffy to sleep at night.
12. Rooms for two people are quite cramped.
13. There is no hot water.
14. Water pressure is very weak, and to wash off the sand, especially from your head, you have to take a very long shower.
15. You have to change the water to flush your feet by yourself.
16. Sand is everywhere on the hotel grounds and constantly gets into the rooms.
17. Ants are everywhere - underfoot in the sand and in the rooms.
18. There is no hand soap.
19. Food prices are quite high, averaging 2000-3000 pesos per day for two persons.
20. Payment for the bar is due upon checkout, with possible errors and no possibility to pay by card.
21. There are no rain covers, so the table is always wet and dirty.
22. There are no beach loungers or beach towels on the beach.
23. Karaoke with sad songs from the staff is a strange decision to entertain guests.
24. The huts do not close and there is not even a door - only a curtain.
25. It's good that there is a transfer, but if you are coming from Puerto Princesa, it is almost impossible to make it by 12:30.

This place is all about its location. It is a paradise island with very basic but clean facilities. They help organise transport to and from the property and the staff on the whole are very nice people. the cost of the transport from El Nido in a shared car was 500 pp. we didn’t need to pay extra for the boat but saw people coming and going at other times.
the Island itself has an incredible beach with crystal clear water. You stay in one of 8-9 beach huts which are on the beach. the huts are tiny but have a bed net so didn’t get bitten too much. there is amazing snorkelling off the beach. would recommend seeing the shipwreck straight ahead but also the corals on the left corner of the beach. they provide some snorkelling equipment. Food and drink is provided on the island at a cost and is decent. would recommend telling them
to use less oil from the start. the food is costly but the low cost of the accommodation makes up for this easily.
cats and dogs near the property. dogs sometimes sit by you whilst you eat in the evenings which I don’t like personally. one night a cat snuck into our hut and was right next to the bed!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Backpackers Island Beach Camp and I must say, it was an excellent surprise. The fact that I had a room right on the beach of an almost deserted island was exactly what I needed for a peaceful holiday.
The hotel staff were amazing and made my stay even more memorable. They were friendly, welcoming, and always went the extra mile to make sure that I was comfortable. I would like to give special thanks to Andy and Noel who were truly exceptional. Their tireless efforts and dedication to their work really made my stay fantastic.
The accommodation was simple but comfortable, and the location was absolutely stunning. Waking up to the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze was just what I needed to recharge my batteries. The hotel also offers a variety of activities, including island hopping, snorkeling, and kayaking, which made my stay even more enjoyable.
I highly recommend the Backpackers Island Beach Camp for anyone who wants a peaceful and tranquil holiday in a beautiful setting. The staff and location are unbeatable and I can't wait to return. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making my stay so wonderful.

wonderful island with great beach and snorkeling right outside. the water was probably some of the clearest I’ve seen
the food was quite bad, the only thing that was good was the fish. there are two roosters only a few meters from where the bungalows are which start making noice at 3-4 am. and even if there is quiet time at 10pm the staff are up talking loud and laughing until after midnight two out of three nights. also very noisy at the place, super loud and bad music playing so you can’t read a book or relax during the day, and often staff playing loud video games or watching TikTok when we were waiting for our food or eating.

Everything was amazing, what a beautiful beach just next to our room. Incredible experience

Beautiful location, right on the beach with a shipwreck to snorkel out too. The meals are tasty and substantial.
The snorkels at the hostel are a little used, I’d recommend taking your own. Getting to the island will cost you around 1000-1500php (understandable given the location). It can be a bit noisy.

Wow, what an amazing experience! I was a bit worried about bugs and not getting sleep during the stay but neither were an issue. Excellent experience for a night or two!

Very nice place to snorkel
Be ready to pay for a ocean view hut and have a last row hut. Management of the hotel is just silent and can’t do nothing about it.
when we stayed there, it was a big group of people, so can’t sleep at night and by the morning 5am they woke up everybody as they were veeeery loud.

I liked that they had a basin to wash your feet before entering your room
no pressure on the shower
the staff wasn’t the friendliest
a bit expensive for what it is

It's in a paradise island!. In front of an amazing beach.
So the place!
It's maybe too basic. A bit of more shadow zones could be also nice.

All personnel kind ad helpful, especially Dom and Andy, working so hard to make our stay awesome.
Paradise like location that you have dreamed but didn't know it existed.
Beautiful and comfortable huts.
Bathrooms and showers very clean and practical.
Small size of the structure makes the experience very nice, quiet with stilll some very good time with the other clients.
Snorkeling absolutely fantastic with a shipwreck on the beach. Don't hesitate to go Snorkeling also from the beach in front of the village, there are huge colorful corals and multicolored fish. We could swim with a giant turtle 🐢 met when kayaking in the next bay after the village.
Food is very well prepared and good. Some complain that they had to wait... sorry for them, most likely they had an urgent appointment 😅 .
Snorkeling equipment provided, kayak for rent much cheaper than in other structures around.
The 2 only others "hôtels" are accessible for a drink, lunch or dinner... this allows for variety...
Transfer by boat is free of charge if you do during check in/out time.
Tom is very reactive with messages to give you all information you need.
For us one of the best travelling experience ever!
We hate... that we had booked only 3 nights!

Wonderful place, helprull staff, tasty food at very good price. Crystal clear water - very good for tke snorkeling. The only camp on the island where you have an internet access if you have local sim card. Spent there 3 nights.
Everything was just perfect. Definitely come back when back in Philippines.
