About this house rental

The house features living room, bath, and kitchen with huge rock fireplace. On the lake side is multilevel porch with propane grill overlooking a pier for easy docking. Holly Park Marina is 5 miles away. Upstairs TV room with a day bed. 2 bedrooms (one with a double and a queen bed, and second with a king and a double) and full bath. House can sleep 9 adults comfortably. All beds are up stairs. No smoking.

The back porch has a beautiful view of the lake; it was so nice to sit and relax with a drink looking out at the water in the evening. Also very easy to launch a canoe from the shore.

Hot tub doesn't work dryer doesn't work black mold in the shower bats n the chemney other people soap in the showers smh gps didnt bring me all the way to the house and the little sign with the address could have been bigger. Upon arrival it was a beautiful site. Exactly like the photos on line. The cabin is beautiful inside a little snug but beautiful. They supplied all dishes needed for basic cooking. The HotSpring Spa jacuzzi tub didn't work. They knew of it before my check in and didn't inform me giving me an option to cancel w/out penalty or reschedule. I tried contacting the host no answer left several messages and got no response until i contacted this site then and only then did i speak with someone who told me they knew it was out and someone would come fix it. They never showed. Then i was told these things happen they would refund me only $50. This was for my mom's 60th birthday she wanted to fish i was there for the hot tub. Was told i could get in the hot tub which was now a puddle of hot still water i declined if i wanted to take a bath i have tub at home for that. This was a false advertisement!!!! I should have been given notice of the out of commission equipment. There is black mold in the shower down stairs. Other peoples soap dishes were left there in the showers bats in the chimney couldn't get the dryer to come on 5/10 i wouldn't recommend

The lake house was nice but when we opened the freezer and fridge it smelled like fish. We prefer a king size bed because that’s what we have at home. The king size bed was not comfy, it felt like we were being swallowed up by the mattress. It was a very old innerspring mattress. The next day my husband and I decided to go in the jacuzzi/spa after fishing for a few hours. The water in the jacuzzi was low so we had to contact the host to see if we could add water from the hose. The second night we decided to sleep on the queen size bed because the mattress was a lot more comfortable. I woke up and my eyes were swollen, not sure if it was from the dust or if a cat had laid in the bed. I’m allergic to cat dander and 2 different kinds of dust mites. Needless to say, we ended up leaving a day early !

Dear Mr,Mrs Martin Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Arrived 13 and left 16th it was absolutely perfect we planned ahead and brought just about everything we would need.The home was Beautifully decorate felt like being at home and thats the way we treated it like it was ours. The view from back deck seeing sunrise and sunset was gorgeous we hated to leave but work is calling Monday morning.

This has been by far the best weekend getaway for a family. Very cozy and warm feeling interior with everything you need. Clean and kept up. I’d pick this 10 times over a 5 star hotel. Jacuzzi was fun, fishing, and swimming was great. Not handicap accessible but it didn’t cramp our style. Will be planning more stays here in future!

We enjoyed our stay! Downfall is the stairs but we managed! Recommendation is electrical hookups near pier would be nice for charging boat. We had to run two 100 ft cords to be able to do so! The two water moccasins that kept swimming near pier was a little intimidating! Other than that cabin was nice and the view was serene!!

All went well. The waterfront view from back porch ,the nice wood table and heavy duty bar high stools were awesome! Hot tub and having a boat dock and Dog Friendly were HUGE PLUS!!! However, just a few hiccups. Downstairs bathroom the water pressure in that shower was barely enough to get soap or shampoo off your body. It took over 5 min for shower to get warm enough to get in it! And the Downstairs toilet kept running several times and would not shut off! So those few items needed some attention. Had hot tub issues with temperature. I will contact host to expound. It was serene ,relaxing and there was friendly neighbors!

Love this beautiful lakeside cabin! It was quiet and well equipped. The sunrise views were the best part! We loved the hot tub and fire pit as well. The only drawbacks were how dark the cabin is (no real windows downstairs) and signs of rodent droppings in a cupboard (but never saw a mouse). This would be expected in a rustic, woodsy area though.

This is our second time staying here. The property is great. Myself, wife, son, and daughter stayed here for a Mardi Gras getaway while they were both on break from college. We brought our pups and this place is perfect for them. Large yard with lake access. We brought our boat and docked it on the wharf. The hot tub was awesome after a long day of fishing. The weather wasn't great for fishing, but we managed to catch a few bass and had a great time. Looking forward to staying here again. The property is in a very quiet and peaceful area.

We were wanting a cabin in the woods on a lake and that's exactly what we got. The lake view from the property was gorgeous, the hot tub was a fun perk, and overall it was a very relaxing weekend.

Overall I would say, it was a good stay. 2 things, I was not thrilled with. All bedrooms are up stairs and I am 78 with a bad hip. Not their fault, I just must have missed that in the description. Also, the temps are preset on the heat and air. We froze and had no luck turning the temp up or the AC down. I was impressed with the decor and antiques and wood work in the cabin. Beds were very comfortable. The lake level was down so no fishing off the pier but that is no ones fault. We had a nice time.

Beautiful woodwork, very neat and well supplied, hot tub was a treat. No WiFi and the Dish channels were very limited. Realy enjoyed the Public Library in Hemphill, and the Air and Space Museum was very informative. Martins has a catfish special on Friday and Saturday nights. Very peaceful.

Considering its delightful location, this cabin has a bewildering lack of windows. However, you'll probably spend most of your time on the deck, so it hardly matters. The cabin is well equipped and the hot tub is lovely. There was a state wide burn ban in place when we stayed, so we couldn't use the fire pit, but it's large and it would be a lot of fun to sit by a fire as the light fades over the lake. We had an issue with propane supply but the host was very responsive and helpful and did her very best to get it resolved. I'd come back with no hesitation.

Pros - Great fishing. We couldn’t keep the line in the water between 6-8 PM. Best stocked cabin I’ve ever stayed in. King size bed was very comfortable. Hot tub was awesome. Upstairs shower was great. Good water pressure. Very clean cabin. Right on the water. Great view. Cons - TV in downstairs living room is tiny. The “knickknacks” were everywhere, giving the place a cluttered appearance. Hot tub is not private. 3 other cabins/homes can see it. There is a “dome” camera on the back patio that if aimed at the hot tub would have full view of everything. Although the cabin is well stocked, there is no place to put your unrefrigerated food you bring other than the countertops. The owners need to set mousetraps. We had at least one uninvited guest. Overall - We had a great time. Not the best cabin we’ve been to, but far from the worst.

Perfect outdoor living area with a beautiful dock. Comfortable upstairs sleeping arrangements with living area. Shallow area around dock with little debris for splashing. DOG FRIENDLY!!! Comfortable downstairs living with homey kitchen. Decently stocked with supplies. Visit Living the Dream Guide Service and rent a boat or kayak and check out the trails. Don’t miss Gilligan’s On The Bend for some AMAZING Cajun food and friendly service. Didn’t manage to catch any fish, but the hot tub made up for it! Definitely plan to return!

We enjoyed our stay. Really enjoyed sitting on dock & in hot tub. The back porch has a nice view. The outdoor lights were out but owner responded he would get repaired. Be sure to bring mosquito spray. We loved how welcoming they are to dogs. Supplied dog bowls & a bed. Highly recommend arriving before dark. Finding the cabin is a bit tricky & so are lights inside as cabin is a bit dark. A flashlight is handy to have. If you're looking for a good place to eat breakfast, try Martin's Corner in Milam. Even though there were neighbors it felt private enough. Trees helped separate neighbors. Enjoy your stay!

We had such a wonderful time staying at the cabin. It was clean, and peaceful, and the hot tub helped relaxed all those stressful things in your life just go away. It was a great cabin and beautiful with all the antiques. And the best fishing dock that I've fished off of in years. You can fish day and night and still catch fish. All from bluegill, bass, to catfish. The ducks, Canadian geese, and cranes are beautiful to watch at sunrise and sunset. Love this please, we will for sure be back as soon as we can.

Everything was great. We were able to launch the boat close by and then keep it at the wharf on property. Clean and cozy space with everything stocked for convenient stay. The hot tub was great! The washer and drier are next to bedrooms! Our pups loved the beautiful property as well.

Our family rented this cabin for our Christmas vacation. The cabin was very cozy. My husband and I went with our three children and my parents and sister came and met us to celebrate Christmas. We really enjoyed the fire and the cabin and my husband and sons went fishing several times a day. The dock made things very easy and the hot tub was wonderful. We played games and sat and talked by the fire. The living room was small and only allowed for four people to sit at a time unless some of us sat on the floor, that was a bit of a bummer. The seating area upstairs was really nice and allowed some of the older adult children to watch movies and chat amongst themselves. Make sure you bring plenty of firewood for the indoor fireplace and the outside fire pit. We definitely plan to return.
