About this house rental

Fantastic house with large fenced yard, across the street from beach and walkover. Two blocks from local market, four blocks from Folly pier and center of town. Protected outside shower with hot and cold water to wash off the sand between your toes! Great ocean views from two decks. Enclosed back porch/sunroom just off the kitchen which leads down to the grill. We also provide baby equipment (high chair, baby gates, pak'n'play) so it is one less thing to pack.
Spacious eat-in kitchen with a great farm table which seats 8 people and updated stainless appliances and granite counter tops. There is cable TV in the first floor bedroom, living room and 3rd floor. There is a nice GE washer and dryer in the sunroom/enclosed porch on the first floor. The house also has wireless internet service and central heat and air conditioning. There are children's beach toys, boogie boards and one beginner surfboard for tenants use as well as beach chairs and a beach umbrella. Avoid the hassle of the paid parking lots in town and park your car in the private off street parking at the house. There's no need to drive to explore all the cute shops and restaurants since it's an easy stroll to Center Street and the Folly Beach Pier. Our yard is large by beach standards and completely fenced. There are double gates at the driveway entrance which are able close. There is an outdoor propane grill to eat all the great beach cookout meals.

There is a separate storage area for house keeping use only. This space is not occupied or for rent and is not included in the square footage of the rental house.

This house is fantastic! Everything is so walkable & with 5 of us, there was plenty of space. This house has everything you need for a beach vacation - chairs, cooler, tents, games, surf board, boogie boards, and a beach wagon. Restaurants & shops a short walk away. We will be back!!

The Swell Cottage met all of our expectations and provided us with a wonderful beach vacation at Folly Beach. The house is beautiful and was perfect for our family of five. It was very clean and bigger and roomier than we expected. The view from the decks and the very short walk to the beach made all the difference. The house came with comfortable beds, a large supply of towels to use, and all the necessities needed for staying in the house (soap, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, etc). Although we brought all of our beach items, the house also came with a huge supply of everything you would need for enjoying a day at the beach like beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, beach toys, etc. My kids also enjoyed the outdoor corn hole and connect four games. Our family also loved our short evening walks to all the downtown shops and restaurants at Folly. We had an amazing week at the Swell Cottage and would love to stay here again!

We just spent a week at the amazing Swell Cottage (2 adults; 3 kids--12, 13, 16). The Charleston Low Country with its fabulous beaches is my favorite place to visit. I hope to live there one day. Finding a place like the Swell Cottage only enhanced that feeling. The location is perfect--sitting on a large lot, directly across the street from a beach access, while being close enough to town and the pier to walk without issue. It was so well stocked with plenty of towels, beach gear, kitchen supplies, games, and more. The pictures and description are accurate to what I experienced. It felt like home the minute we walked in. A highlight was the private outdoor shower. After a day at the beach or a long run in humid weather, nothing beats an outdoor shower. OH, and the deck space is amazing. The 2nd floor deck had great furniture and stayed shaded throughout most of the day. Coffee and/or cocktails on that deck with an ocean view and breeze was fantastic. I spend a lot of time researching places and I recommend this beach cottage without hesitation. I did not want to leave.

Great location and huge yard with palm trees and plants. You can see the ocean from the second floor and hear the waves at night. We were able to walk into town with no problem. The beach was only across the street. Our 4 year old loved the loft for sleeping.

We loved this house, it has so much character. It's kinda quirky, but in a good way! Great porch with ocean views. We sat out there all the time - coffee, cocktails, reading, dinner. Great people watching as you can see the beach access easily from house. Outdoor shower is fantastic. I took every shower there. House is well stocked with trash bags, handsoap, detergent, starter paper towels and toilet paper which is nice. The location is so convenient to everything.

I’ve lost track of how many times we have rented this house. It is in a great location, right across from beach access. I spend most of my time on the porch watching and listening to the ocean. It has a great fenced yard for kids to play in. Everything you might need is stocked. Including beach chairs, toys, boogie boards and a cooler. I could go on and on. My family loves this house. If you’re visiting Folly Beach its a perfect spot to make lots of memories.

We loved our stay! The location was spectacular, close to restaurants/bars, Bert’s market, tennis/picklball/basketball courts, and the beach. This prime location is in a quiet residential part of the island. The listing description is accurate. We hope to visit again.

We had a great time week relaxing with family. The house was clean and comfortable. Had all the beach amenities you could want. Enjoyed the Weber grill for some burgers and hotdogs one night. Great location to walk to local restaurants and close to Charleston. Would definitely stay here again.

This house is in the perfect location! You can see the ocean from the balconies & it’s a short walk to town. The downstairs bedroom is very small which may be difficult for 2 people. There are lots of stairs & only showers, no tub. It was a great place for us to stay!

We had a lovely 3 generation stay at this well-appointed cottage. The location was amazing with convenient access to the beach, parking for 3 cars, and beautiful patios with amazing views. There were more beach chairs and umbrellas than we could possibly use and everything was in working order. Very happy with our stay!

It is rare to be surprised that a property is bigger and nicer than the listing suggested. This is one of those! We had plenty of room for our family of 4, with 3 bedrooms and a sleeping loft that we weren't expecting! The location across from the beach was so convenient. And the house is far enough from town to be quiet, but a quick walk. Lynn was a wonderful host. She even mailed 2 bathing suits that we left behind! We will be back!

Perfect location for beach activities (surfing, boogie boarding etc), everything in the house worked well and all bedrooms are comfortable and quiet; there is a lot of traffic outside but we could not hear it from inside the house. Parking is a jungle so having our own car spot was a blessing. The beach is crowded but spacious enough to always have good space. Would definitely recommend for active families

We loved our stay! Great location to town and restaurants and easy walk across the street to the beach! Very clean house with everything you will need for the beach! We brought our own chairs, but there were some there and we borrowed their boogie boards which were a big hit! We rented bikes and rode them everywhere we went on the island. We also drove into Charleston a few times....super easy 20 min drive! Definitely recommend this property! Thank you to the hosts! Great communication letting us know everything..super easy! Great week! We are sad its over!

My husband and I had a great week at Swell Cottage. We’re in our mid-late 60s and it was in a perfect location to access the beach and downtown area w/o moving the car. Lynn was very responsive to any questions. Easy drive into downtown Charleston as well. Owners go the extra mile to provide more than your average rental. Would rent again.

This place is absolutely amazing! We’ve stayed on Folly many times, and this is by far the best place! You cannot beat the location! We had our three kids, ages: 4, 6, and 8. It was so easy to just walk across to the public beach access. All the beach supplies the house provided were worth their weight in gold! Chairs, umbrellas, toys, boogie boards, etc. We were all very comfortable in the house. We don’t have one single complaint about our trip! Lynn was amazing to work with and responded very fast to whatever we asked her. We’ll definitely be back to visit Swell Cottage!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. We could see the beach from the back deck, and just a short walk to the beach. Within walking distance to all of the restaurants and shops . It is also a short drive into Charleston. I highly recommend this cottage.

We had the best time at Swell Cottage. You are steps away from the beach, with a big yard for playing, and a great layout for multiple ages. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed.
