About this house rental
Beautifully renovated 1920s bungalow located in Downtown Decatur, an easy 10-minute walk to Decatur Square. Amazing location, so close to all of the unique and wonderful Decatur shops and restaurants, such as Leon's, No. 246, and The Iberian Pig among many more. You can also walk to the Decatur MARTA station to ride to Downtown Atlanta, Mercedes-Benz Stadium or to the Airport.
3 bedroom, 1 full bath (with bathtub). 1250 sq feet in total, plus lovely front patio with seating for 6 and a large fenced in backyard with additional seating. 2 bedrooms have comfortable queen mattresses on an adjustable electric bed (head can be positioned upright for reading and relaxing) and pillows. 3rd bedroom has a twin trundle bed with comfortable memory foam mattresses. This third bedroom does not have window treatments (no blinds, no curtains) so you can wake up refreshed by the sun! Additional twin air mattress provided.
When requesting to book, please tell me a little about yourself, the purpose of your stay, and the "secret phrase." Your hosts are attentive and if you know what to expect, you will have a wonderful time!
This is a quiet, safe, family neighborhood located on a quaint and historic cul-de-sac in downtown Decatur. You'll see lots of lovely trees, see families and friendly neighbors when you venture out, and be so close to everything you might need (the grocery store Kroger is right around the corner). We love our neighborhood and ask that guests respect quiet hours from 10 PM to 7 AM. The front patio also "closes" at 10 PM given the proximity of the historic bungalows on this street.
Guests have full, private access to this home. Pillows, blankets, sheets, and towels are provided. There are several power strips throughout the home to allow for easy device charging. Bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap. Hair dryer provided. Washer and dryer free to use on site. Iron and ironing board located by the washer and dryer.
Full kitchen has paper towels, plates, bowls, ample silverware, measuring cups, spatulas, towels, pot holder, cups, coffee/tea mugs, stemless wine glasses, pots and pans, gourmet knife set for easy chopping, Ninja blender, two coffee makers (single serve and traditional), measuring spoons, as well as some essentials for the chef (olive oil, salt, pepper).
Living room has two comfortable and stylish modern sofas with ample decorative pillows and extra blankets for cozying up. A Smart TV is mounted above the decorative fireplace (guests can access Netflix, Hulu, etc. with their own login information). Fast, fiber optic WiFi is available throughout the house for streaming on all of your devices. (We do not provide Cable TV and there are no TVs in the bedrooms).
The majority of the home's windows have blinds with a couple exceptions. First, the third bedroom with the twin trundle beds and desk has short half-wall windows that do not have blinds. Second, the kitchen also has some short half-wall historic pulley windows next to the sink that do not have blinds on them but they let some lovely light into the space.
The entire home is smoke-free and pet-free. We even have an air purifier located in the living room space. This is a historic home with modern renovations to the bathroom and kitchen spaces, but it also has some historic "charms" to it that we'd like you to be aware of. The doors are historic and can sometimes stick (the twin trundle bedroom in particular). We encourage you to not fully close that door if you feel comfortable but we also provide a little toolkit to help just in case the door gets sticky during your trip.
Note although this is a one-story bungalow with no stairs inside the home, there are approximately 10 stairs that are required to get onto the patio and access the front door, thus this home is not wheelchair-accessible.
Decatur is a lovely city with everything you need right there. There are so many amazing places to visit within 15 minutes as well if you want a day trip. Fernbank, Piedmont Park, the BeltLine, Virginia Highlands, Ponce City Market, Mercedes-Benz stadium, East Atlanta Village. MARTA buses and trains and Uber are readily available here to take you everywhere you'd like to see. Read on to the Other Things to Note section to find the secret phrase (required for booking).
This is a standalone brick bungalow to which guests have full private access. Note that the driveway for this home is on the left side of the home when facing it from the street. It is the driveway that is linked to the front walkway. You can park for free in this driveway, which can hold approximately three medium-sized cars if pulled all the way up. However, be careful not to block the neighborhood sidewalk at the end of the driveway. Since we do not allow guests that are not on the reservation, we expect there will be enough parking for your group.
A lockbox contains keys so that everyone in your group can come and go as needed. Please always leave one key in the lockbox so that you do not get locked out by accident. Continue reading the Other Things to Note section to find the required secret phrase to book.
I am available for you during your stay. You will have an attentive and responsive host. I will message with you the day before and after check-in, and the day before checkout.
Please make sure you book for the correct number of guests because we do have a small $5 per night extra person charge past 4 guests. We have a 6-person adult max. In the case that you have more people because of children in the group let us know and we can take it on a case-by-case basis.
Check-in is any time between 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM EST. Checkout is at 11:00 AM EST.
Free driveway parking for up to three medium-sized cars is available 24/7. Parking is in the home's uncovered driveway (the driveway to the left of the home when facing home from street).
Our door knobs are antiques, be gentle and know that they might not always lock. The doors do close but I cannot promise that they will lock.
The houses are very close together. This house is a great fit for a family or a group of quiet friends. We will not be a good fit for groups that want to stay up late with music. The neighbor actively reports rowdy or suspicious behavior. The front porch closes at 10 PM to allow the neighbor to get some sleep.
We do not allow smoking anywhere on the property, even the front porch.
You will need to carry luggage up approximately ten stairs to get to the front entrance. No other stairs are inside the home. The secret phrase is "Decatur is greater."
Congratulations! You have read everything you need to know about this property in advance of your stay and before deciding whether it is the right place for your group. And, you've found the secret phrase ("Decatur is greater"). Please include this secret phrase into your message to the host when you send your request to book.
The person booking this home must be present for check-in. There is also an EXTERIOR-only facing security camera located in this home.

We wanted to be close to Decatur. The house location was fantastic in that regard and everything we needed.

We rented this property to visit my daughter’s family in Decatur. It was perfect for us. Close to Kroger, close to my daughter’s home, it’s on a nice quiet street. The house is close to downtown Decatur but we never actually went in to town. We only ever ate breakfast here, so can’t speak to the kitchen supplies - but it’s clearly been updated. We hope to rent it again next year when we visit.

Comfortable home away from home for weekend or 4 week stay in the area. Everything you could need for a private, quiet, relaxing stay.

Perfect location to explore Decatur
This is a lovely older home on a quiet residential street just a few blocks from Decatur’s bustling square and a MARTA stop. Easy access to Atlanta and Decatur.

Bungalow in the heart of Decatur
My family had a great stay. As a former Decatur resident, I would be hard pressed to think of a better location. A short walk from the Decatur Square made the stay extra great. We will certainly stay again when we visit Atlanta!

Comfortable House in Excellent Neighborhood
The highlights were an easy walk to downtown Decatur, a relaxing front porch, and a newly renovated kitchen. We rented this house for a full month and aside from a few hiccups (Internet was broken but quickly fixed, back yard wasn't mowed the entire time we were there), we really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely consider staying here again the next time we're in town.

Looking forward to staying here again!
This house is exactly as advertised. It is super clean with up to date and comfortable furnishings. Good wi-fi and a nice-sized smart tv. The kitchen was super fun to cook in. It is located in a charming neighborhood within a very short walking distance to great restaurants, cute shops, a nice yoga studio, grocery store, and public transportation. Excellent communication with the property manager. Super easy check-in and out. My 12 year old son wanted to stay forever. I kind of did, too.

Decatur square
We enjoyed the house and our stay. It is as advertised, clean and walking distance to the Square. Nice taste in decor, and very clean. As a word on improvement, I would have appreciated the entry details with a little more advance notice. With that said, I would return given the occasion; a big thumbs up.

Wonderful place in Decatur
This home was perfect! My parents and my family (husband and a 1.5 year hold) stayed here while visiting additional family who live in Decatur. This house was in a great location-- easy walking distance to both the square and groceries. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Decatur.

Just loved this little cottage. Super sweet location and quiet cul-de-sac street. The decor was terrific, and the pillows and mattresses were high luxury quality. Snacks, and lots of good kitchen gear to boot!

Lovely home - easy walk to downtown Decatur.
Four senior citizen girlfriends reunion! What a welcoming 3 Bedroom, one bath home - comfy beds, modern eat in kitchen, washer/dryer and off street parking. Loved sitting on the front porch for our Happy Hour and walking into downtown Decatur for dinner. Owner Alex made check in and out super easy. Can’t wait to stay here again.
