Wow, nice room. Worth the money I paid for it.

Grei beliggenhet og greit rom for en natt.
Utsiden av hotellet virket dårlig. Knust glass i hoveddør og fliser som hadde løsnet i inngangspartiet.

The location is excellent for visiting The Anvil. There are no breakfast facilities.

Excellente prestation.

Arlan House was perfect for our little weekend getaway. The prior communication with Steve (the owner) was quickly answered and he was very accommodating! When we arrived, which was before the check in time, we were allowed to leave the luggage there which was super helpful as we were worried to have to carry it around all day. The cleaning lady was super lovely and just finished up. The room couldn't have been any cleaner! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom so clean it could have been used for an advert. Will definitely have a look again at Arlan House, should we return to Basingstoke.

I liked the location as it was close to where I was going each day. I liked the fact that Steve answered his phone when I arrived late and wasn't sure where to park as there were lots of spaces but only a small number were allocated to the hotel and I didn't want to pick up a car parking fine. There were coffee and tea making facilities in the room (but see comment below regarding supplies). There was also an unexpected and welcome addition of a refrigerator. Two free bottles of water were provided.
The bed felt cold and ever so slightly damp each time I turned in for the night. Although there was coffee and tea provided, there were no sweeteners, just sugar, and only three little tiny pots of milk which for a three night stay is nowhere near enough. As I didn't have time to buy milk during my stay this meant that the milk was used up the first night and I had none for the remainder of my stay. It's a small point, but when you've been out in the open and on the go all day from 7am till midnight, a nice hot cup of tea of coffee would have been welcome. It would have been good if the car parking slots were marked in some way (although talking to Steve he said he was restricted by the land owner). The front door which had a security lock (Good to see), but was left open constantly by other guests so anyone could gain access to the main building as there are no staff on site. Maybe a spring loaded door closer would fix this problem.

Great location
Basically a b&b with no staff, all PIN code log ins to building and bedroom. To me it’s priced the same as some really decent hotels with great service and facilities so not great value for what it is.
That said the location is very good.

We had the suite and a double room and were very happy with both. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and nicely designed. The kitchen in the suite had everything we needed and it was an ideal base for a families day at RAF Odiham (15 mins drive). We were within walking distance of Festival Place with a good choice of shops, bars and restaurants. We would definitely stay again when in the area. The shower was excellent and the bathroom was very modern and clean.
The only slight issue we had was we didn’t receive the key box details for one of the rooms. I rang the 24hr customer service line and it was quickly sorted so no real issue.

No breakfast available, but would’ve liked more milk pots for a cuppa had there been staff around to ask. Also the tv remote was a bit hit and miss. Very hot room overnight but very comfortable and well equipped.
Only one bedside table and the room got very warm during the night

Great location, easy to enter, clean, good parking.
Earlier check in and later check out times (2 and 11 would be ideal)

Comfortable spacious room, very comfortabke bed and great shower. Good to have a fridge too
Had to ring "emergency" number as we couldnt find keycode on second day. Lady really helpful but so difficult to understand due to regional accent. Then on return from breakfast and dhopping trip keycode didnt work. The cleaner extremely helpful and got sorted for us. Only other issue was lack of hot eater in middle of day when we wanted to get cleaned up to go to wedding. We would still recommend to friends though

Self service system suited us fine.
Close to restaurants and shops.
Nothing really to dislike. But could hear the TV from the neighbouring room.
