The host was very accommodating and want to stay an extra day

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin it is secluded but close to lots of attractions which is what we were looking for and the sound of the babbling brook was so relaxing and we enjoyed the fire pit and had an endless supply of wood. The only thing is only one window has a screen the others are either missing or ripped but since it cooled down at night it wasn’t a problem.Its a great place to stay if you want to be secluded and enjoy an older cabin.

Restful and easy to get to where we wanted to go. 6 of us had a great time. This was our 2nd stay her.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here, but would not return. The cabin is extremely rustic, no wifi or cell phone signal, but great heating system. Host was very kind and had the caretaker meet us to let us in and show us around. The brook behind the cabin was a major highlight! Location is close to a lot of hiking and skiing.
The bedding was stained in multiple places, when I looked for additional bedding to replace, it was also stained. The cabin also had a very strange odor, as if someone had been smoking in it and sprayed a bunch of chemicals to cover it up. Host asked us to bring our own drinking water, but later discovered the tap was completely safe and that some folks said it tasted metallic. No trash removal on site, must take all waste with you.

Close to everything, but you are remote and private enough to enjoy the river and quiet location.
Owner is very nice.
Plenty of room for a family.

Host was communicative. The listing is accurate in that the cabin has a retro feel. We loved making a fire in the fireplace. The brook behind the house is beautiful to listen to. It is conveniently located where you are close to town but secluded enough to feel like you’re in the woods.

Our stay was FANTISTIC, me and my 4 buddies had a great time. We were on motorcycles and the location was great for that. Just down the road from the Kanc, not to far to Conway. Easy to get to where we wanted to ride. I would HIGHLY recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a quiet place to send time in the Conway area. If still availlable next year me and my friends will be back.

We were very pleased with the cabin, There were a few coments we made to help the next people comming in . we wish we had axcess to one of the grills, we found beaters but no mixer,also a set of bowls would help. The beds were very comfortable, we loved the sound of the brook. Very relaxing.

The property is very nice overall. The cabin is rustic and being so close to water you do expect to have some dampness.

Great privacy and perfect for our 2 dogs. The stream is wonderful tho it makes things damp in the house

This house is exactly as pictured. It is rustic and quaint, a step or 2 up from camping. The location is lovely with the bubbling brook. There is a "pool" in the brook right behind the house for cooling off in. There are tubes that you can use to bump/float down the brook to a second sandy area. It is quiet and down a dirt road off the main street. There is an unused quarry road next to the property which I hiked up with the dog and we even saw a bear at the top!
The location is central with easy to access Conway/N. Conway and the amenities there. There is NO WIFI (as listed in the description) and VERY LITTLE SERVICE for phones/internet. There is a small TV with a few channels if you need that. The kitchen is clean and stocked with anything needed. There is a double bed and a twin over double bunk bed in one bedroom and a double bed in the other bedroom-the double bed mattress is over a smaller boxspring which was fine for one sleeper but may be harder for 2. The bathroom was clean but dark in the shower. There is a nice screened porch stocked with firewood for the fireplace or outside firepit. There are a few folding chairs as well.
My only real complaint is that most of the screens in the house were broken which made it impossible to open any windows for some breeze. We stayed on a very hot weekend and there is no AC. There are fans provided however which helped. Bring bugspray in the summer as you are in the woods! Have fun :)

Great cabin not fancy, but perfect for us! Love the area. Only request would be for the owner to be able to list the available dates accurately and in real time! We will rent this getaway a third time soon! Thanks for having us!

We had a wonderful winter getaway. The granite fireplace is more than enough reason to book. The pup loved it as well.

This is a nice cozy cabin. It’s what you need, none of the fancy nonsense.
If you’re looking for a WiFi enhanced experience with a big screen tv you’re probably not looking for a cabin in the woods in New Hampshire anyways are you?

We stayed at this cozy cabin for the Christmas and New Year holidays. The property was located far from the busy highways in a secluded area with no neighbors, the only thing we could hear was the serene river flowing alongside the cabin. The host made sure we had everything we needed, and the driveway was properly cleared of snow for us. There was an abundance of firewood to use to keep us warm and the fireplace was very well built to prevent smoke from entering the home. There were a few cable channels that kept us entertained, but we wished we brought some dvds to put in the player when we came back from town. North Conway area is great for antique shopping and skiing. It's has an abundance of mountain and sporting stores. There is a small beginner mountain 20 minutes nearby called King Pine. We would definitely would want to come back in the future.

The location and seclusion of the property are great, it is rustic cabin nothing fancy but the beds are in need of an upgrade very old uncomfortable mattresses throughout the cabin - I ended up sleeping on futon couch in the living room - we had a dog with us who loves water so the brook running through the property was very nice but overall cleanliness was not great - outdated food in the cabinets and refrigerator, extra pillow in the closet was all stained from use, some sand in the beds upon arrival.

My family and I had a great time staying at this cottage while visiting North Conway for an end-of-summer weekend getaway. We brought our one-year old and two dogs. It was easy to find, despite being on a dirt road not marked. Thank you owner Barbara for fantastic communication. We met housekeeper Amy upon arrival and she was a delight, ready to show us all we needed to know about the cottage and property. Thank you Amy for thinking of our little one and leaving some toys and books to play with. The cottage has a very vintage feel, down to the old books on display, and a quaintness that really makes the cottage charming. The brook behind the house was beautiful, making such a peaceful sound to take in, especially in the morning with some coffee. The dogs absolutely loved it. I have some recommendations: warm white lightbulbs in other words yellow color light in all fixtures would be a good improvement; some were white light in odd places (living room among other places) which is too bright on the eyes and less conducive for relaxation IMO. Lastly, we did not find wireless internet, which were were expecting since it was on the listing (not that we needed it, unplugging was a welcome addition to our getaway). Overall, a nice place to stay very close to Kancamagus, we had a pleasant experience. Thank you for opening up your cottage to us.

Nice little cabin in a dead end road and only minutes from everything North Conway had to offer.
6.0 / 10.0
Pros:
* Cozy - especially the living room.
* Fully functional kitchen.
* Fully functional bathroom.
* No issues with ants.
* Close to North Conway.
* Fresh towels and linens.
* Main bedroom bed is super comfy.
Cons:
* Windows are antiquated - some windows open, some have screens, some can't open. Should be replaced.
* There are two fans in the house. We had to purchase an extra to try and cool down during the evenings.
* Couches in the living room need steam cleaning and then a cover that can be washed after each stay.
* Pillows and blankets on the couches need serious cleaning or replacement.
* Cleaner that is hired does not vacuum, wash floors, clean cobwebs, sweep floors, etc.
* Back bedroom mattresses on bunk bed and queen are very uncomfortable. Need to be replaced.
* Chairs in the living room need steam cleaning and a cover.
* Living room lights (side of couch) and back bedroom light need servicing.
* Oven needs cleaning.

Barbara provides a warm welcome to her private cottage by a fun Brook. The Brook was a highlight of the stay for the family and our 2 dogs. It was far too warm to have an indoor fire but there’s an outdoor fire pit to use. I would rent again. There are a couple free standing fans in the cabin to help cool it down. Also, the Saco River is a must do as well.

This was a great place for us to stay with our dog. Rustic and relaxing. Close to great restaurants that were dog friendly. The owner met us and gave great recommendations.

Great place
House was exactly how it was listed. Barbara was great about communication and Amy who manages the property was very nice. She brought the kids sparklers which they loved. House came with plenty of firewood and was very clean upon arrival. House is basic and peaceful which is exactly what we were looking for. nice little hiking trails behind the house were nice to go on walks. Overall great stay. Will definitely go back.

Camping Cabin Style
This cabin was perfect for our family. Surrounded by nature and set back from the road, this cabin was very quaint, rustic and comfortable for our family of seven. The running brook behind the cabin was peaceful and picturesque. We were just minutes from the Lower Falls and Diana's Baths as well as shopping, minigolf, tubing and many other fantastic family adventures. If you want to watch some TV, I would definitely bring a selection of your favorite DVD's. This cabin is not high-tech, the cell signal is not strong and there is no Wifi. If you are a coffee drinker, bring ground coffee. The Keurig does not work. The fireplace is wonderful. It was slightly chilly during our stay, and they stock the porch with plenty of firewood with an axe to cut it down to smaller pieces. Some of the beds, blankets and pillows could use a little upgrade, but for our two nights, we slept comfortably. Although there is a $50 cleaning fee, you are required to take your trash with you. This was our only major complaint. We strapped our trash bags to the bag of our Yukon and had to carry it back to our home in Connecticut to dispose of it properly. We were not made aware of any locations close by where we could dump it. We would love to return to this cabin and will definitely recommend it to others who may be looking for lodging that is similar to cabin style camping.

Maintenance and cleanliness was poor
We had a great time by the big fireplace. Unfortunately there was no heat the whole time we were there and the place was not very clean. I appreciate Barbara's communication, but overall I have to say the stay was just ok.

Secluded
I thought Barbara was great at communicating. The cabin was good but furniture was uncomfortable and none of the doors in cabin were secure but appliances were good. Except oven was so dirty decided against cooking a frozen pizza. Loved fireplace really warmed up living room. Central heater was really loud . We went up to ATV and snowtube and cabin did the trick to relax and unwind no wifi and tv was like a computer monitor size which kids weren't happy about but I did enjoy the place except for the uncomfortable furniture

Great place!
My family and my dog stayed here for about a week. It was nice and quiet. The owner was friendly and made sure everything was set for us. There was a river in the back which was peaceful. Loved the trail in the back that led to amazing views! The house was nice and clean. Great location! We will definitely stay here again!

Peaceful getaway
Overall it was not a good experience, the furniture and beds were very uncomfortable and no tv . The brook was very peaceful though. I think with a few upgrades it would have been perfect .

Horrible, unsafe place
The beds were impossible to sleep on, it was Luke sleeping on the floor. The back bedroom ( the one the children sleep in) doesn’t have any heat. The outside lights did not work, extremely unsafe for being the only house on the street in the middle of the woods. It was not a relaxing vacation at all.

Mice droppings everywhere
We were welcomed by the owner who was incredibly friendly. She walked us around and answered all of our questions. The 2nd bedroom had no heat and was very dirty. The kitchen sink had mouse droppings in it and on the counters. Mice droppings were in the utensil drawers and all over the stove, window sills, kitchen table and on the floors. In the only heated bedroom there was a mousetrap out in the open with mice droppings all around it. We spent the first night cleaning because we were unable to find something else to stay in. The heating duct was off its spot and the heat was not going up the vents. We were very disappointed and disgusted as to how anyone could rent a place in this condition. We have written to VRBo and sent along photos
