Quiet little spot with plenty of room for us and the doggo.

The little place is nicely set up and cosy. The close proximity to the reserve and access to little lake side walks was great for the kids.
Handle on the fireplace needs a bit of attention, but apart from that we were very happy.

Had a great stay - outside area needs a good clean up - had a few problems with cockroaches and mice running around
Great value for money
Great location

The house was cosy, comfortable, clean, dog-friendly, fully fenced. Field next to the house great for running the dog, the house is very close to the lake with easy boat access.
Lots of toys and kids dvd's.

What a spot, so quiet and relaxing. We had family book next door and it was so nice going between houses for meals etc. Planning to come back and stay for longer.

The process of booking made me want to cancel - it sounded so unfriendly - bring linen, bring tea towels, bring soap, bring tea and coffee, we might have some toilet paper for you - no cancellation refund, clean up after yourself - aligned with extra charges for cleaning and service on top of the cost. Very off putting. The actual stay was great - lovely house that we all fitted into well, a well stocked kitchen for cooking - firewood - a few necessities in the kitchen - a lovely place to stay - so - I suggest doing something about the initial process - if I hadn't wanted a holiday so badly I would have been really put off - oh - and what's going on with no more than 180ks on the trampoline - I've never met kids that big....

We stayed with our 4 kids and 2 dogs, and had a wonderful time. The house was easy to use and had all we needed. The hosts Steve and Nicole were amazing, and gave us local knowledge on activities and walks in the area, and provided bikes for the kids, and our kids were also given rides on their motor-buggy around the reserve, which was a real unexpected highlight. Very friendly people, and we'll be back again :) Thanks again!

Best bach for a family escape
Lake Tarawera and the Cheeky Tui cabin were just the respite our family and dogs needed from Auckland. Fishing and swimming access were just a few minutes walk away. Mountain biking and walking tracks were close by in the beautiful lakes area. We felt like we were in the country but near enough to conveniences. The bach had everything we needed and was very comfortable. It was particularly great for our dogs with the park next door and Otomutu reserve. I highly recommend this classic Kiwi bach.

We love this spot. Home away from home in a truly stunning part of New Zealand. We were warm and cozy even though we had a couple of chilly days. So much to explore on the Lake Tarawera area as well as in Rotorua. Pickle the Pug was very happy to be included in the holiday too. We met the owners Nicole and Steve who were staying in the Fidgety Fantail. Super helpful and friendly. I really don’t need to give high recommendations. Anyone who has stayed here before knows what a great place it is.

Great space for small children - our 2 year old loved the tramp, outdoor toys and duplo! Very relaxing and peaceful property.

What a fantastic place to stay, we had a few people so were grateful for the extra 2 cabins.
Loved the location, the kids could go to the park right next door, the outdoor shower was such a buzz, the house itself had everything we needed to put on a dinner for over 10 people. Lots to do, very comfortable accomodation, will definitely be back, thanks heaps.
