Introduction ; Our loft style villa is surrounded by native bush land with access to resort facilities and is your gateway to iconic World Heritage Listed K'gari (Fraser Island). Barge your 4wd to the resort or walk on. Once you are here you are steps away from your K'gari experience. The resort and villa is great for couples and families alike. Space or privacy, romance or adventure, get pampered or DIY fun - it's up to you. Come see what you have been missing.
Our Property ; Sapphire 535 is open and airy in the summer and warm and cosy in the off season. You can't help but relax in this award winning eco designed space. The best value for money on the island. Nothing but trees and the Sandy Straight are in your view from the balcony. Inside it's all island comfort. Everything you need for R&R or unwinding from a day hiking or touring around the island. The master bedroom is roomy and bright with a comfy queen size bed and plenty or cupboard and storage space. The second bedroom is a loft with a queen size bed. A built in ladder gets you to the private nest and it has plenty of room for the occupants. There are two pull out couches in the living room just in case you get those drop in guests. We do however recommend that you are comfortable with children using a fixed place ladder for access - we suggest children that are 8+ - but that is up to you. Linen and towels is provided.
Guest Access ; Several 3 car parking bays are within a short walk to the villa. We are a 5-minute walk to reception and the resorts amenities (as the villa is elevated in the tree line the walk does have a manageable hill in it). Depending on how you are travelling you will need to book a barge for your vehicle or the ferry if you are walking. All the resort facilities are at your disposal once you get here. Access your Villa via a lockbox and start your vacation once you are past the door. K'gari (Fraser) Island is a wonderful and special place and we are proud to make it available to you. We suggest you do a little research by searching K'gari Island, Queensland and Kingfisher Bay Resort so you can develop your own opinion and plan on how to enjoy it. There are walking trails, beaches, fishing and sports and recreational activities all at your fingertips. You can book any of them at the resort. Friendly informative rangers and island tours are all available for enjoyment. Regardless if you adventure, exercise or exercise your right to just relax you can't go wrong doing it in our villa or any of the villas in the resort. We are happy to share our experiences and ideas once you confirm your booking. If you don't already have one and want to adventure on the island you can rent 4WD in Hervey Bay. WhaIe watching, island and walking tours can be booked at the resort or from one of the many great tour operators from Hervey Bay.
A Few Other Details ; Getting to the villa - Once you arrive at the resort drive to the one and only roundabout and head up the hill. The second road in the right is William Edwardson Lane. Go up William Edwardson Lane. Villa 535 is in the second set of villas. Park in one of the many bays and head to 535 . It is about a 30 metre walk from the parking space with no steps. Keys - the keys are in a lock box on a post near the door. We will provide you the code prior to checking in. BBQ - there is a BBQ and utensils however it is BYO Gas Bottle. The villa is air conditioned so if you want to keep it cool and comfortable on hot days (or warm on the rare cold ones) we suggest you keep the doors and windows closed to keep it at the temperature you like.

Spacious and quiet villa that had everything we needed for our 6-night stay. Great value for money. The washing machine and dryer was much appreciated! Our children (7 and 9) slept in the loft, the ladder is steep and I wouldn’t feel safe with smaller children climbing up and down. A railing attached to the wall would make it a bit safer in my opinion. The kitchen was well equipped but we felt the villa could do with a very thorough clean, the floors and kitchen cupboards looked a bit grimey but it definitely didn’t stop us from having a wonderful stay.

I would highly recommend this property. Tom our host communicated quickly when we booked last minute and he provided us with a very clean, incredible space. The apartment is very large, very well equipt with serene views and in a peaceful setting. We could not have hoped for more! Thank you Tom for enabling us to have some much needed R & R. The only thing that this property has is its location. The unit itself is extremely dirty. The unit requires a complete makeover, there is dust and mould in most Areas. The kitchen is filthy, you cannot cook with any of the cooking appliances, they all need to be thrown in the bin. The state of the kitchen wouldn’t pass a health inspection by any means. The air conditioning is full of dust all over the filters. The lounge covers need to be thrown in the trash. The shower screen is unstable, and it doesn’t close and it is extremely dirty and has mould in all areas of the shower bath combo. On arrival the unit was apparently cleaned and on entering the unit there were ants all over the kitchen bench and we had to spend an hour cleaning the kitchen and we removed the bin to the veranda. The sliding door to the veranda was so hard to open and it was extremely heavy to even open. It requires new wheels on the door. Everywhere you looked was dirty. This unit requires a complete makeover and throughly cleaned and inspected before it should be allowed to be available for holiday rental. The owner should take responsibility in sacking there cleaners and the owner should be ashamed in allowing this property to be listed with Wotif. Wotif to protect your reputation you should inspect this property and make your own decision to see if it meets any standard. I personally do not recommend this property in its current state for holiday rental. I have taken several photos to justify review

We had a fantastic time at Kingfisher. The accom was great, well maintained. The loft stairs can be a little scary if you have young children but it is well noted in the description for this accom prior to booking. Heaps to do at the resort and on the Island overall would highly recommend. Thanks to the owners for making the process seamless.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay in this huge villa that felt like we were in a treehouse. Everything was well catered for, comfy beds, air conditioning. The owner Tom was very responsive with any questions we had. Although the villa wasn’t too far away from the actual resort itself, the only downfall we had with the property was it’s located up a very steep hill! Would be awesome if there were golf buggies you could hire to get up & down the steep hill. We were lucky enough to have the rangers in the resort offer us a lift back to our villa a couple of times. But other than that, price wise it was fabulous!

The property is in a great location. The cleanliness had a lot to be desired. The fans in both rooms and the aircon filters looked like they had never been cleaned so Much dust. The aircon in the main bedroom did not get cool. Friendly staff on the island. The food was over priced and average. There are cooking facilities in the unit. Would advise take your own

We got a 4wd tour from the resort to Mckenzie lake and it was absolutely breathtaking! loved that we could use the resort pool as well. the furniture is quite dated/old but I guess it doesn't really matter too much. we really enjoyed our stay! will book again :)

We had such a lovely time there! The deck facing the trees is so calming, we love to chill there after a day's adventure. The kitchen is very well-equipped that we ended up cooking a lot! Highly recommended! Some light bulbs need replacing.

Fraser is a jewel and natural beauty right on our door step Simply stunning Beauty Spot tour was fab canoeing on our last day was magic In all we had a wonderful 3 nights 4 days of walks ,scenic flight ,4WD trips ,night walk fishing A great stay
