About this house rental
Beautiful new home built in 2016 with 5 bedroom 3 bathroom near Lake Michigan.
Come enjoy Door County's quiet side and still be close to the hustle and bustle of the peninsula. Enjoy a morning on the deck sipping coffee with the birds chirping and the sun coming up over the trees but be careful this place has a way of tranquilizing you and morning can quickly turn to afternoon. The panoramic view with floor to ceiling windows allows you to view nature at its finest. Almost every morning you will be greeted by the deer as they graze in the surrounding fields. Turkeys as the make there way across the land. And brown sand hill cranes frequent this area. Along with many birds, squirrels and an occasional rabbit.
Located in the farm country of Clay Banks just a short distance from Lake Michigan is our “Clay Banks Retreat.” Here you will enjoy a spacious, 3500 square foot custom designed retreat with all the amenities of home. Four bedrooms, 3 with queen beds, and one with a king! The spacious design boasts a sunroom with front door thats open to the great room with cathedral ceilings and large panoramic windows and a 55” Smart TV. The huge custom designed and built dining room table easily seats 12! A full chef’s kitchen with black cherry cabinets, a farm sink, granite countertops and slate stainless steel appliances will make you never want to leave. Large pantry for storage. Take a look around, you can see the black cherry and ash woodwork which was cut and logged from this very property in 2005. The walkout lower level features a large family room with a 50” smart TV and two bedrooms,, two full bathrooms and the bunk room.
Included with the Clay Banks Retreat is wireless WIFI, Netflix, a fire pit and all kitchen appliances (Keurig, Mr Coffee type coffee maker, griddle, toaster, mix master, electric frying pan, crock pot, washer and dryer and a gas grill and fire table on the deck).
Less than an hour from Lambeau Field and only a short drive from Northern Door County the Clay Banks Retreat is the perfect place to spend your vacation, the only regret you’ll have here is that you have to leave! T

This house was a perfect home for our family of 7 adults and 4 grandkids. It was spacious, clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with everything and anything you may need, including a large table big enough for all of us to have meals together and to play games on. The family loved the bonfires and outdoor games and the grandkids loved playing with all the toys that were provided. We loved visiting Door County parks, beaches, shopping and Pirates Cove! Our host, Darelynn, was excellent. She was so kind to allow us to check in early, she was so thoughtful (having beach towels for all of us, extra chairs, beach bags, etc.) and she was great at communicating all that we needed to know about the property, home, etc. In the home, there was a sign on the wall that said, "God's County". This home and the area truly felt that way. We highly recommend this home and plan on coming back to visit in the future.

We had a wonderful weekend staying at this property. It was clean, in a great location and slept all 16 of us very comfortably. We were just outside of the hustle and bustle of Door County, just 2 miles from a beach but also close enough that it took only 20min+ to get into town and enjoy those areas. We utilized the outdoor games available. The host was prompt on answer any and all questions.

This home is beautiful, peaceful, and so well suited for the needs of all ages. A main floor with a walk in shower for the great grandparents to the downstairs super fun bunkbed room with beanbag chairs for the kids, very comfortable gathering areas indoor and outdoor, and indoor and outdoor games suited to bringing the generations together, this was a home we so enjoyed for our reunion. The kitchen is very well stocked for your cooking needs, and Darelynn is such a gracious host who has added the thoughtful touches to make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable. We can't say enough about what a great property this is. We were nine women who spent five days enjoying Door County, and this house was perfect. Gorgeous house, large yard with a fire pit. Plenty of beds and bathrooms, all immaculate. Our Host was very helpful with recommendations, communication was easy, and everything went smoothly.

My husband and I booked this wonderful home to spend some time with our 3 grown children and their families - there were 13 of us all together. The house , property and amenities were perfect for us. We had plenty of room and the kids loved the bunk room. The house was so well stocked! Plenty of everything you could think of including all kinds of indoor and outdoor games. We had a great time exploring Doir County and then coming back to hang out at the house.

From the moment we turned down the driveway we felt welcome. In every part of this beautiful space, both indoors and out were places to gather, sit and enjoy. The house was so well equipped from the kitchen, the bathrooms to the cozy sleeping spaces. The pool table was hit with young and old. And the rousing games of Corn Hole, bean bag toss were great fun. Quiet conversations were had both around the fire table on the deck and the great fire pit in the yard. The welcome book was filled with all the pertinent details for a great stay and Darelynn was available for any questions we had. We enjoyed our time all together in this wonderful home. Thanks for making it available to share and the memories made will last a lifetime.

This property is fantastic! The host has thought of every detail. The house is fully stocked. We had a group of 15 people and it was a great size for our group- plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. We had 7 kids and they loved sleeping in the bunk bed room together. The pool table was a hit with everyone. The host has so many indoor and outdoor games that the group was well entertained throughout our stay.

This is a beautiful property! It looks exactly like the pictures. Honestly, first VRBO, and we have stayed in a few, that had a clean grill!! Everything was clean, there are many pots, pans, baking dishes etc.
We saw deer every night and turkeys! We didn’t want to leave!!

Clay Banks Retreat is an amazing property and a great place to host a gathering. The house is extremely clean, has a fully equipped kitchen (plenty of cups, plates, utensils, etc), and is well maintained. The open floor plan with kitchen, dining room, and living room is perfect for everyone to be together. While hanging out in the kitchen we saw many deer roaming the fields. The bedrooms are spacious and beds/pillows are comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and spacious and have plenty of towles. I highly recommend this property.

13 of us ( children and grandchildren), spent the Labor Day Weekend at the Clay Banks Retreat. We all found the house to be very lovely and accommodating for all ages. Great Property
The home was perfect for 13 of us that stayed there over a long weekend. Plenty of room for the adults and for the younger kids to have some of their own space as well. Great location just outside of town so that you can get away from all the people in town and relax under the stars. Very clean. Just a great place to stay all-around.

Perfect Destination!
We had a wonderful time staying here for a family reunion in Door County. The house was perfect in every way: spacious for a large group, clean, comfortable, and with every kitchen utensil imaginable available. It's a bit off the beaten track (i.e. 30-45 min to most key places in Door County) but that's what we loved about it. You haven't experienced true "peace and quiet" until you've stayed here!

Perfect Large Family Home
The house was even better than advertised. There was plenty of warm inviting space for everyone. It was a little far from much of the rest of Door County, but we knew that going into it. The table comfortably sat 10 of us for meals. The teens loved having the big bunk room to hang out in.

Had a great time
We are celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary this year and did it by taking our 3 adult sons and their families to this perfect spot in the country. It is easily accessible to Sturgeon Bay.
Highlights were walking down to the beach and seeing deer in the fields, kayaking, jumping off the cliffs, shopping in Fish Creek, Maritime Museum in Gills Rock, etc etc. There is so much to do and see.
Darelyn's house is beautiful and has everything we needed. We had 8 adults and 8 kiddos plus my brother and his wife from St Paul surprised us for a couple of nights. We had plenty room to eat, play, and sleep. The "bunk room" was perfect for "cousin time". The kitchen has everything you might need. After dark on the back deck provided an amazing star show. The fire pit had chairs enough for everyone who wanted to do s'mores or pudgie pies. We are already looking for dates for next year.
The one and only glitch turned out to be a blessing. The garbage didn't get picked up before we got there. I sent a message to Darelyn and she and Tony brought out extra garbage cans for us that week end day so we got to meet them.
