Quirky and quaint we had a lovely roof terrace
To much breakfast!

Very accommodating and generous host. The hotel is set in a beautiful and friendly village near the coast. There are well marked hiking trails from the village and there is a beach nearby. Our room was very clean and stocked with all we needed. There was a small shared kitchen in our section of the hotel (some rooms had their own) and it had everything we needed to prepare meals. We also had dinner in the restaurant, it was delicious, very reasonably priced, and of generous proportions.
The location of the hotel is really spectacular however, to get there you must take the GC-200 route which has incredible views but is somewhat terrifying to drive (or ride). They are building a new road along the northern section but it wasn't completed yet when we visited.

everything was great it was the best place i stayed on the whole island.
Nothing really, it’s more remote than i realised so just bring some basics with you and you’ll be fine.

Cheap.
Clean.
Good coffee.
Fridge in the room.
We actually moved out two days earlier without compensation and paid a new fee for a different hotel. Why?
The noise - the room door is single layer aluminum, so you can hear cars honking on the road right before the hostel from early morning to the night; you can hear every word from people sitting at the tables outside; on Saturday night, loud group kept us up past midnight. It is hard to enjoy the stay if one cannot sleep.
The privacy - when other guests walk buy they stare right through your window unless it's closed, and they can hear every word. Seating outside the room is in a shared corridor. Did I mention no sound insulation?
The breakfast - very basic. Warm potato omelette or warm ham-and-cheese sandwich are very basic and the same every day. When I asked for "black tea with milk" on 4 days, I got only black tea twice, and then twice hot water with milk in it, and a tea satchel on the side. No yoghurt, no seconds offered (just a single bun), no choice - no cheese, ham, just one flavour of cheap jam...
The rooms - again, cheap beds, cheap clothes racks, no decorations to speak of.

The room was small but very cozy, the bed was super comfortable and it even had memory foam pillows which is a great plus! The staff was so attentive and tried to help with everything, from bringing food into our room when we needed to work, to allowing us to stay a bit longer for checkout. The place was impeccably clean all around - the toilets, the kitchen, the rooms. Cleaned and disinfected daily. The communal kitchen was small but really had all the essentials. One of the two shared toilets was actually a huge bathroom with shower and a washing machine which was free to use together with detergent and softener. Really great!
The breakfast was plentiful, fruits, cakes, variety of a la carte sandwiches, juice, coffee. We were even treated to some free beers when we arrived.
El Risco does not have much to offer, but don't miss out on a 40min hike to Charco Azul waterfall and El Risco beach - a small piece of heaven with black volcanic sand (you can drive all the way to the beach).
It was a bit loud at times as the property is right on the road, trucks would honk before they enter the curve and some visitors and locals would sit down at the restaurant not minding that people are actually relaxing upstairs. But it was not too bad, I managed to sleep great without the earplugs even though I am a light sleeper.

Situated by a beautiful little hamlet the accommodation is surrounded by unspoiled mountains. For getting away from it all it is perfect, also, mountaineering (with 20 mountains in Tamadaba national park), amazing rock-climbing, surfing, photography, star-gazing and strolls along the rugged coastline. I enjoyed the fact there were no tourist traps, nightclubs, noise, hawkers, hustlers; instead just peace and quiet. The restaurant downstairs from the little rooms caters mainly for local clientele. The owners are unobtrusive, but extremely hospitable. I was moved from the twin beds room, the simple comfort of which suited me fine, to a double room which is actually better, with a cozier bed, larger fridge, bigger clothes rail and a wooden desk. I have been delighted so far with everything. I am not looking for city life on holiday, and love being surrounded by amazing geology and nature. I have been rambling, rock climbing, mountaineering and swimming, and visited nearby towns on the bus 101 Global bus. I love sitting admiring the view from the balcony having dinner and the amazing breakfast provided in the restaurant each morning, with fresh local fruit smoothies, fruit salad, sandwiches, coffee and a sweet. I would love to come again but there are no bookings available for a year, as I have checked. I believe there are 2 hotels in El Risco nearby, and will look into staying there in the future unless this more conveniently situated place re-opens.

Tranquility, tremendous scenery, natural beauty, hiking, rock-climbing, mountain pool, remote, and away from it all. Facilities, hot plate, dishes, washing machine, clothes line, well maintained, well-designed, attractive, spotless, simple, coat-hangers provided, balcony with table, breakfast is a generous feast, next to bus stop, pebbly beach nearby that is nice to walk to, though wild and rugged. Everything is perfect for me. I love it and am blessed for being here.
They don't do proper vegan food in the restaurant downstairs. They cater for vegetarians and flesh eaters only.

Great location for country walks, trekking, mountaineering, beach walks, rock climbing. Fantastic and very generous breakfast as always, washing machine cooking facilities, spacious, well equipped, laid back and relaxed. Very good value too.
all great

Breakfast included, clean basic rooms with comfy beds, bathroom with washing machine shared between three rooms. Some advanced hiking trails up the mountain and an easy waterfall trek close by.
Bit remote but this was also an attraction, the local beach isn't easy to access but very quiet.

The landscape at B&B and Apartments El Charco Azul is truly enchanting. During the day, the views are awe-inspiring, and the sunset scenes are simply breathtaking. A must-see for those seeking natural beauty at its finest.
B&B and Apartments El Charco Azul offers a peaceful retreat in a remote location. Ideal for those craving privacy and nature's beauty. The journey to the site is scenic but lacks night lighting, and amenities are a 20-minute drive away. Note that English proficiency at reception may be limited. If you seek serenity, this is a perfect choice, but convenience-seekers might want to weigh options.

Nice characteristic vibe of the apartment, very well kept. The balcony was spacious and the bed was very comfortable.
You have to go outside to use the bathroom at night, but since it was warm, it wasn't a big deal.

A very cozy apartment with an interesting layout and a nice terrace. Good facilities overall. The host seems to be a jack of all trades. The owner's resident hostel dog was a sweetheart.
The location is not the easiest to get to, unless you travel by car. Some traffic passes by so light sleepers may find this unpleasant.

Very clean and simple accomodation which is perfect if you're looking for somewhere reasonably priced to access the mountains. The room had a private fridge and good storage space and the free breakfast was a nice touch considering the price! The shared kitchen and bathroom were immaculately clean.
The accommodation is right next to the road so the noise can be a little disturbing early in the morning
The hot water in the shower ran out a couple of times

Great service. Low price.
Breakfast could have more choices.

The B&B is located directly at the bottom of the small village El Risco and only half an hour away from the only waterfall on Gran Canaria, El Charco Azul. There is a breakfast every morning consisting of fruit, juice, a sandwich (bocadillo) of choice (i recommend chorizo), coffe and cake, which was nice. To get to the next bigger city Agaete you drive around 25 minutes, there you find a bigger beach with sand and a lot of fish restaurants (Recommendation is Akasa restaurante, very delicious). If you dont want to drive, a small beach is accesible by foot, but consists more of black stones than sand.
The refrigerator in our room was very loud, which sometimes woke us up at night and people were working loud machines outside of the B&B already early in the morning which was not the most relaxed setting for breakfast, other than that we had no complains.

The stay exceeded my expectations! The staff was amazing, the place was clean and comfy and I could have breakfast with the view! It has parking, restaurant/café downstairs, everyone is really open and friendly!
Maybe a little disturbing was the noise from the road near by

The real Gran Canaria experience! The host is a genuinely great guy and the place is unique. If you come to Gran Canaria to party and be served, this is not the place for you. But if you come to enjoy the wonderful nature and be part of the local culture, this is the best place to stay. The waterfall is just a short walk and from here you can reach the entire natural park.
It was all great.

Very nice accomodation with shared facilities. Nearby many great walking routes, and the host came me his recommendations. The included breakfast was plenty and the dinner made to my wishes. Perfect place for some relaxing days outside of the bustling cities.

What a fantastic spot to rest; lovely room with the most comfortable bed ne pillows. Although the included breakfast isn’t amazing, a lot is provided.
The kitchenette isn’t well enough equipped to cook properly. Right next to a road so can be noisy, and staff downstairs in the bar get up early in the morning…

The best breakfast ever. You need at least an hour to eat everything. Fresh juice and fruit and something warm and sweet...Great atmosphere made by Antonio and Erica and local people. Antonio you are the best! I felt more than welcome and it wasn't a big problem that I don't speak Spanish :) If you want to feel local atmosphere choose that place. Great place for hiking! Hosts are very helpful! I got there by bus and it was ok but if you want to see the island take the car, it is one hour drive to Las Palmas (not an easy way to go) and one hour to Maspalomas. I would definitely choose this place again! Muchas gracias Erica y Antonio!!!
A bit noisy during the day but you don't go there to spend the whole day in your room so it wasn't the problem.

cute, rustic and authentic place with a very caring owner and his family. I felt more than welcome will come back.
nothing to complain about

Clean and charming little place, with lovely sea view, and can see sun set. Next to start of walking trails. Also, good space packed in a lot of amenities. Host provides a very generous fresh made breakfast. Also his restaurant bar is quite convenient for food!
Rear view is of a construction site but it is not important, especially consider the cheap price!

Very good conditions, perfect spot for a relaxing time, close to a nice beach (don't go swimming unless it's low tide) and beautiful sunset. Wifi was very good, there is a nice table for meals but it's not close to an outlet. If you want to work there is a table inside the bedroom that can do just fine.
Bathroom conditions, kitchenette as well. Sr. Antonio is an angel and super helpful and makes sure you have a huge breakfast to eat if you want to. I spoke Spanish the whole time but you don't need to, there were guests from other nationalities as well.
Make sure you bring some groceries food with you for cooking but last case the restaurant always has water, bread, meals and other stuff.
All good.
