About this house rental
In a neighborhood just off the beaten path, sits Lil' Casa; an inviting and peaceful southwest-style home in beautiful Marquette, Michigan.
Centrally located and minutes from Marquette Mountain, NMU, the hospital, grocery stores, as well as all the biking, boating, and snow activities you could dream of! This is a great location to launch your next seasonal adventure, visit your student at NMU, attend one of Marquette's many community events, or just enjoy a good night's sleep.
Just up the road to the east toward the fit-strip is an awesome view of the surrounding area, Hogsback MT, Sugar Loaf MT, and Lake Superior can be seen in the distance. A short walk through the fit strip and adjacent cemetery (which local legend has it was designed by the same landscaping pioneers as Central Park and the Biltmore Estate gardens) leads you towards the city center.
If you like getting around by foot or bike, you'll love that you are only steps away from the Marquette Bike Path System for easy access to the Presque Isle nature area, downtown Marquette, and the Lower Harbor.
In the back of the house, you will find a deck along with a fenced-in backyard offering a private outdoor space to enjoy your coffee in the morning or relax in the evening after a day out and about. Enjoy a peach or two off of the tree or pick some red raspberries from the abundance of bushes. The back fence is lined with lilac bushes on one side and grape vines on the other (the grapes are ripe and ready to pick in October). There are many flowering plants and bushes throughout the outside space including irises and Lilly of the Valley.
Experiences local flare with a visit to the farmer's market (Saturday & Wednesday evenings), Beer Fest, Artofnh the Rocks, dog sled races, and other community festivals and shenanigans.

We are repeat guests and spend several days in Marquette each year, usually in September. Bethney is a great host - always proactive and kind. And the house is squeaky clean inside and has a great fenced in back yard for our dogs - so it works for the whole family. We'll be back again!

This was our 2nd stay and we loved it as much as we did the first time. Very comfortable for humans and pets. Nice fenced in yard.

Our stay was all we expected, and more. Check-in was so easy and it's a great location! We loved the yard and fenced backyard overflowing with beautiful fruit trees and blooming flowers--our pups loved to explore the fringes and chase the chipmunks! Very clean and very comfortable. We will definitely put this on our re-do list! My only request would be for Cable TV to be available.

What a lovely home and property! We had a great time. The gorgeous garden and flowers were a definite plus. The home is very nicely furnished and was perfect for us. The location is great (quiet but close to everything). The host made us feel very much at home (and even left chocolates). We hope to return again!

Great little place to hideaway and use as a base for exploring Marquette while our son attended orientation at NMU.

We've stayed at Lil' Casa several times and love it every visit!

We enjoyed our stay at Lil’ Casa. Decorated beautifully. A nice yard for our dog and close to a walking trail and other amenities.

We was looking forward to the hot tub that was included in the listing when we booked it. Really disappointed when we got there and there was no hot tub. Little honesty would have been great. Overall nice location and the inside was very clean. Outside needs a lot of work including the front porch entrance. Will book it again in the future!!

I stayed for 17 days to visit my NMU student. I found it to be a very convenient location to the Dome, campus, dining, trails, and I brought my dog along and he enjoyed the fenced-in backyard. The house was clean and had everything you need for an extended stay. I plan to stay again and highly recommend!!!

Wonderful little house with nice small touches made our visit easy! Very cute house inside and was larger than expected with an extra bed and a basement area. Living room/dining and kitchen were nicely laid out and kitchen had everything we need. Fenced in yard was nice. Only thing for those with larger dogs, especially if they are jumpers be aware of front area of the fence is shorter than the back and could be jumped. Great for non jumpers or smaller dogs. Neighborhood was very quiet. Nice trail area for walks and close to town. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic, cozy, house in a quiet neighborhood but super close to whatever you want to do. We will likely stay here again!

We were excited to take a mini vacation with our dogs and we were not disappointed. The photos and description of this property is spot on. The house is warm and inviting, close to a lot of fun things to do and has a fenced in yard for the dogs. The bike path is close. We took advantage of the proximity to Dead River Trails as well. We had no problems with the check in, check out process. The host was friendly and helpful. There are other dogs in the neighborhood, so using the fenced in back yard was a nice amenity. The back entry way is awkward to say the least. If your dogs have problems with stairs, it might be a challenge for them, however a gate is provided. We did not utilize the kitchen as much as we could have, but everything is provided. There are plenty of coffee shops, breweries and parks near by. We are hoping to be back sometime soon.

Clean and well stocked inside. Easy trip into downtown Marquette, but far enough away to not have crowds at the house. Neighbors very quiet. Good stay, would rent again

Clean house in a quiet neighborhood with everything we needed for our stay in Marquette. Only a few feet from the bike path that will take you to downtown (about 2 mile bike ride on a safe bike trail).

Loved Lil’ Casa! Perfect place to work & unwind since I needed to briefly visit NMU. Great location for NMU, downtown Marquette and quick access to main roads.
I loved sitting in the dining room working and occasionally bird watching the humming birds, orioles and others flitting about the trumpet vine. So peaceful.
The host was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

It was our first trip to Marquette and Lil Casa was in a great location to explore the city. The home also had a wonderful backyard where we relaxed at the end of the day.

This was a great little house to stay in for myself and my 2 dogs. There was a beautiful garden in the back with plenty of outdoor seating. I loved the filtered water in the refrigerator. It took a bit to cool down the house after I arrived since the ac is only in the bedroom, but there is a ceiling fan in the living room as well. It was a great place and I would definitely stay again if I’m in the area.

We enjoyed our stay here! It was freshly cleaned, had towels and fans available to us (A/C only in the bedroom), and felt homey for our short trip to Marquette. The only thing we wished it had was a washer / dryer, but didn't plan on it when packing so no biggie. Would definitely go back, thanks Lil' Casa!

Roomy home for 2 people. Close to the bike path. Could use some fresh paint in areas along with a deep cleaning of rug and a new mattress. The back yard needed some tidying up. The vines were so overgrown part of the deck was unusable. Some pruning and weeding would make the setting so much more attractive.

It's called Lil' Casa, but the house is very roomy. The yard is very interesting with numerous varieties of plants and trees. Our dogs loved exploring the yard. There's a nice deck in the back to sit out and relax. Quiet neighborhood. There's a hike/bike trail less than half a block away. Marquette is a wonderful place for a get-away!

We have stayed at several rentals over the years and all are not created equal. This one is extra special. Its a great location - about 1-2 miles to downtown and lots of restaurants, yet still far enough to be quiet. Would recommend to anyone looking for a 1 bedroom with extra space.

Easy entry, bright and cheery rooms, comfortable bed, plenty of towels, with a large clean refrigerator/freezer. Our dogs enjoyed the back yard and nearby walking trail. TV is all internet based. Overall nice stay!

We found so many hidden gems at this property! The neighborhood is very cute and quiet. The kitchen has just the right amount of everything. There wasn't a utensil we couldn't find, because there was any clutter. The refrigerator has a water spout inside the door which was great for refilling our water bottles.
There are 2 coffee makers.. a Mr. Coffee in the lower cabinet next to the fridge and a Kurig single cup on the counter. We did struggle with the Kurig and if not done right will leak water all over the counter. Open the top first with coffee pod empty and closed. Add water to circle of size cup you want. Close top lid. Then open latch to insert coffee pod, water will drain down into heater. Close Pod latch, press brew.
There is a 2nd bedroom, with a single daybed. We didn't use the bed, but added a bit of space to lay out clothes, etc.
There is a bumper pool table in the basement. We didn't play but looked like a fun area!!
The main bedroom bed is a memory foam and was comfy. Each side has a tiny nightstand shelf with touch lamps. The closet is quite large with lots of hangers.
The only downside is that I couldn't find a small vacuum so if you track in a dirt or have crumbs from food, you can only sweep the hardwood floors, but also the area rugs. A small vac would be a helpful addition.
We truly enjoyed our stay, we were comfy and cozy and if we head to Marquette again, we will rebook this same little gem of a home!

We loved the place. Perfect size. Perfect location. Very welcoming if you are traveling with pets. Exterior needs a little work so don’t let that fool you. Inside is lovely, perfectly equipped, and we will be back.

We enjoyed our stay with our pup Bee. The listing had excellent consideration for the needs of those staying with tea/coffee, shampoo and conditioner and single serving packs of dog food in case it slipped your mind. Highly recommend this cute and cozy space for your stay in Marquette!

I will stay again if possible, I loved this little house 💜 I got ready for my wedding here and the garden brought me such peace. The kitchen was lovely and the light coming through the living room window in the morning was great. The bed was also awesome! Just need a new shower curtain because the current one lets water out of the top see through part during the shower. If you are standing next to the shower while someone is in there you get a light spray. lol

Perfect place to stay for a short vacation in Marquette. Perfect little house with just the right amount of room for my husband and I. The bed was super comfortable, and everything was very clean. Bonus if you bring a pet, nice pet door lead out to the backyard. Such a quiet neighborhood which we are very much appreciated.
Communication with owner was very timely, we would definitely stay here again.
