The room was tiny. I had one pillow which was paper thin.
Woken up early from the noise. I paid £124 for a room which was only worth £60/80..
Pillows, room, noise, mattress was horrendous
4.5
Lovely building and estate.
The safety doors in the corridors made a thunderous sound as they slammed closed and this was very disturbing in the nighttime as I was in the room next door!!!

The room we had (1) was amazing. Myself and my husband actually had a child free night as our sen daughter was away with her school so we thought we would treat ourselves. It was amazing. I had read some negative reviews, but just thought we will still give it a go. The dinner was lovely, seeing as we are both vegetarian the choices were great. The breakfast was also really good with our vege sausages being cooked just for us
No air conditioning in the room, and we happened to have had the hottest day there so far, but we worked out how to open the windows wider and there was a fan in the room.
Also on the flight path to Stansted, the planes literally fly over head. We live not far so are used to the planes, but this was a lot

Lovely food and swimming pool. Good size room comfy beds. Nice an quiet and pretty grounds. The conservatory area was pleasant to sit in.
The bar area rather open and dull.
There was mould on the bathroom ceiling. Overall could be cleaner.

I was staying for a family wedding therefore it was a really convenient location.
The check in process has to be the worst I’ve experienced.
I had multiple rooms booked under my name - however when checking in I had to leave my card details (via chip and pin) for each room individually and then charged a room damage fee for each room separately - even though I made all the reservations under one booking.
The staff at check in were fine but the process was unnecessarily over complicated.
The check out was the worst. The staff are incompetent and rude.
So I then had to pay for each room at check out individually which required chip and pin. And then they refunded the room damage fee individually.
All these separate transactions then resulted in me noticing that I was not refunded a damage fee for one room after I checked out. So I went back to the hotel shortly after spoke to the same staff member who was incredibly rude as if I was inconveniencing her. She then realised she forgot to refund me one room and then with her stroppy face and dirty looks proceeded to refund me.
To be honest - for a 3* hotel what do you expect.
Also to add, without any prior notice from the hotel a fire alarm went off around 5/6am on the Sunday morning of check out.
No apology from the staff, no information if this was a real fire drill or test.

It was as I expected from previous stays. The location is good and the the hotel is quiet. There is plenty of car parking.
The dining room was a littel cold. There was fresh fruit at breakfast on only one day of my stay.
4.5
Clean, convenient and comfortable.
Nothing

Great location - very peaceful and secluded. Loved the use of the pool and gym facilities, and the bar menu was good too. Beautiful views. Great location for a pleasant stay before flying from Stansted.
The room was exceedingly hot (partly because of the hot water pipes running beneath the bathroom floor). Decor dated and in need of a big refresh and clean (inside the manor).
4.5
beautiful, great facilities. good price
breakfast was a little “old”
4.5
Room quite good. Breakfast excellent as were the spa facilities. The grounds were superb, delightful setting.
No aircon in the bedroom, which was not really expected - but during the record September temperatures we had would have been welcome, particularly as we had to keep the bedroom window open at night which was noisy due to the proximity of the plant room for the swimming complex. No cleaning of room during our stay.

Lovely room and nice grounds

very pleasant comfortable room.
We were told our rooms would be ready 3pm latest. as wedding guests we were relying on the room being available to change. we didn’t gain access to our room until 3.45 which caused us being unable to change before attending the civil ceremony. And the shower water in the bathroom was too hot and couldn’t be turned cooler. therefore we were unable to shower in the morning which was disappointing. we did report this on departing.
4.5
grounds, manor and facilities are everything I expected and more
the room was a bit haggard with curtains not closing properly - I used a hair clip to keep them together

Beautiful countryside escape. Good value for money, dinner was mediocre, would have like a little more variety that didn't incur a surcharge but you definitely won't be hungry. Breakfast was brilliant, one of the better hotel buffets I've had.
my friend and I stayed for 1 night as an escape from the city but we will definitely be back for a weekend break.
The only real downside that comes to mind is there is no fridge in the room which is a real shame.
4.5
Lovely food and comfortable bed
Could do with a lounge area for relaxing
2.5
Staff very pleasant
room and bathroom ( shower disgusting ) needs updating urgently, breakfast over priced if you can only eat a little
3.0
Nice setting, pool/sauna/steam room, friendly staff, good size room
Lots of little things niggled: no soap in bathroom on arrival, no power points close to bed to charge phones, kettle didn't turn off, tv reception was dodgy and wasn't useable on one day, empty tissues were not replaced in room service, sausages at breakfast were cold on first day, drinks from bar were very expensive. Individually, no big problem, but there were just too many little things
4.0
Staff and facilities are excellent.. The beds are comfortable and the shower will take your skin off at full power..!
Really like this hotel and given the facilities it's extremely reasonable,
Room is a little cold with quite a small heater for the size
4.5
The rooms were stunning and had beautiful views of the grounds. There is also a lovely gazebo in the gardens.
The first room we were in was above the party which was very loud.
4.5
clean & welcoming
Was looking forward to using the Jacuzzi on arrival receptionist called through to check that it had been fixed and was working. contacted the leisure facilities once we got up to our room and booked for 7pm the following day only to find out that it was not working which was a real disappointment to my partner & I, especially as it was meant meant to be one of the highlights of us celebrating his 50th birthday.
4.5
A major problem with the water supply to our room was quickly and efficiently sorted out and a free breakfast offered!
All good.
3.5
The country house hotel feeling.
The furniture in the Lobby was very dirty.
