We as a mum daughter and grandmother were given a room in same wing as scores of school kids on an excursion. Could have gone very wrong but their teachers were great at keeping them quiet Our experience was really badly affected by the 2 coughing kids at breakfasr who coughed all over the food laid out on the buffet. Subsequently we did not eat any bread or fruit or yoghurt or pastries. Parents fault not hotel but really annoying and frightening. In a climate where co id flu and rsv raging. We dont want to risk our health we missed enjoying what was really a lovely brekkie offering. Buffet food at kid mouth level not ideal.

Location, Melon for breakfast.

Old hotel, looks used and old. Rooms no charm and smelly, bathroom ok, but toilet loose. Animal like possum was crawling inside the wall. No staff after 8:45pm at reception. No one at 11:20 pm to solve animal problem. No sleep to get! Staff at breakfast was more busy with checking mobile phone than breakfast service. Cutlery was not clean, forks were missing for breakfast. Waited 20 mins for refilling croissants as the queue for pancakes was pretty long. Plates were dirty. Melon was tasty though.

ROOM 701 The FUNKY MOULDY ROOM from HELL!

The Upgrade that they gave me after having to endure a night of a Mouldy Smelly room with Bad TV reception, a wobbly noisy fridge. The Upgrade to a Suite finally was nice

ROOM 701: I had to endure a night of a Mouldy Smelly room with Bad TV reception, a wobbly noisy fridge. I complained and there was only 1 other room which smelt like a stale Ash tray. I took 2 Antihistamines which stopped the Mouldy itch and Asthma flair up and the next day after speaking with the manager was upgraded. But I'm still feeling funky Mould itch 2 days later.

Overall it was good and it was good value for money, looking forward to stay with them next time.

Staffs especially kitchen and dining area were brilliant

Property was fine but it is not new as it look in the photos. Clean in the rooms but dog and cat smell outside our room and there was a dog which staff claimed that they didn’t know about it. Staff came down and sprayed with air freshener thanks to him. Kids upstairs were running around and were too noisy at night. Hope there was a toaster in the room because sometimes people may sleep in and miss breakfast Our room phone wasn’t working so my daughter has to go to reception all the time because there was no daily cleaning, linen change etc but when we asked for anything, staffs were very helpful and supportive.

Clean, comfortable and great value.

The gentleman at check-in was so lovely and informative. We had a big day at an event that was held in Canberra and we were tired and check-in was so smooth. The hotel was fully booked but we were still able to find a car spot onsite which was great. The room was spotless, beds were so comfortable! Breakfast onsite is another bonus. Could not fault it, will stay again for the same event next year.

Addressing the above concerns would greatly enhance the overall stay experience.

The breakfast was delicious; however, arriving just 30 minutes before closing meant there was hardly any hot food remaining, and it wasn't replenished. On a positive note, the air conditioning was working well.

Upon our arrival, we encountered a couple of issues with our room. Firstly, there was no kettle available, and the TV was not functioning. We discovered that the antenna was not connected, requiring us to perform a scan to resolve the problem. This could pose a challenge for someone less tech-savvy. During my 7-day stay, despite being informed by reception that the room would undergo a light service (e.g., bins emptied, towels replenished, etc) at the 3-day mark, this service did not take place. The room's furniture arrangement was less than ideal, with only one chair provided. This setup would have been acceptable if there had been a couch, but without one, one of us had to resort to eating on the bed, particularly inconvenient given the lack of room servicing. Additionally, the bathroom fan, linked with the light, was excessively loud and could not be turned off separately. Moreover, the shower lacked a convenient spot to place personal soap, essential for individuals with sensitive skin who cannot use the provided hotel/motel soaps. The absence of coat hangers in the room was an inconvenience. To add to the challenges, the hallway light seeped through the bottom of the door, making it difficult to sleep. I had to improvise by placing a towel to cover the light. Perhaps installing a timed light in the hallway would resolve this issue, ensuring a more comfortable sleeping environment. Parking proved to be a consistent challenge, as finding a spot daily was a struggle. It would enhance the experience if rooms had allocated parking spaces. Overall, while there were some issues, addressing these concerns would significantly improve the stay.

Really disappointed and would not stay at Ibis again!

Nothing went well... The lady at reception upon arrival was good. That is the only good thing.

The room was so rundown. The bath was dirty. I was woken up at 6am by squealing pipes. When I spoke to reception about this, they said thank you for letting us know. I don't feel like this was acceptable. It felt like it was brushed under the carpet. No offer of compensation. So disappointed!

Reasonable with price. Had family room , so a small microwave and fridge could have been handy.

One of the bed did not have top sheet. Gap between double bed made a little discomfort for sleep, need a mattress topper.

Dirty room

The location is closer to Queanbeyan and $25 breakfast.

The room wasn't clean, bed had many shards of someone’s hair. The bathroom was very dirty. When mentioned it to reception they mentioned housekeeper was not available. Hand and body wash was empty. The next morning when the housekeeper came she didn't clean anything only refilled the hand and body wash liquid. 2 Star Hotel in the name of 4 Star.

Tradies wore dirty muddy boots through reception and to rooms which cleaning staff took a day to clean. Breakfast included was full on our last day and we had to wait till 10 minutes before closing. before we could complete our breakfast the buffet was closed down. They should consider booked seating sessions when they include it in the room price.
