Great option to stay in a beautiful village.

This is a beautiful room. Very clean property. We stayed in the Emerald suite and the ocean view is only from a small window, but the rooftop terrace is absolutely amazing and a 360 degree view of Vernazza. Room was decorated very well. I could’ve stayed a lot longer.

The air conditioner turns off at 2am. There is no manipulating it back on… it comes back on at 7. I wish the host had let us know this so we didn’t lose sleep trying to figure out why it went off. We reserved this room bc it looked very nice, clean, convenient to where we wanted to be and mainly…had ac for our comfort. Not sure why we weren’t told otherwise. Host was overall just “okay”. He did nothing wrong… just not overly as nice as others I dealt with in the area. Seemed overall bothered.

Seaside glory

Amazing location in the heart of Vernazza with easy access to restaurants, cafes, azure hiking trail, and waterfront. The pictures of this suite are accurate as portrayed with tasteful decor and everything on hand that would be needed for short stayaccommodations. As with anywhere in Cinque Terra, lots of steps to access apartment, but manageable for people with basic good mobility and moderate fitness level. In suite mini fridge, good air conditioning, nespresso machine, beach towels provided. The most comfy bed in all the 3 weeks we were in Italy! The best part is the upper shared patio. Only accessed by a couple units and we rarely had to share. Cool sea breezes with stunning views, and a quiet space away from the crowded streets of Vernazza. Lots of tourists in June during the day, but quiet by evening and into early morning and you cannot hear the crowds from the suite or seaside patio!

Our host sent a friend to meet us so information was perfunctory but we did eventually figure out wifi password, basic area information, and schedule for air conditioning(turns off 11pmto8am so neighbor's are not disturbed with fan noise- but sea breeze keeps it comfortable). All info posted on back of door.

Incredible!

it was amazing! it was so pretty and comfortable and the view was incredible. Virginia was a great host and quick to respond to any inquiries. it was very helpful to have her meet us at the train station and explain a few things about the village on the way to our room. she also made dinner reservations for us both evenings we were there. We would love to go back and stay here again someday!

Comfortable bed, clean, nice to have a window open so you can listen to the ocean. In the heart of everything. Very nice gentleman helped me with my bags up all the steps and stairs!

Narrow stairs should be mentioned very clearly on the description. They should also recommended people to travel with light luggage. Anywhere in Cinque there is a lot of climbing so keep in mind to travel light folks. This place in particular has a very narrow metal stairs which makes it harder. just heads up. The breakfast is offered at a restaurant near by. It is terrible. Please do yourselves a favor and go to the yummy breakfast joint by the post office where you enter the town. It is called Il Pirata delle 5 Terre, you will not regret it!

A great find in Varenna

We didn’t want to leave. The views from the roof deck are fantastic; it is shared by two units, but there are two sections (town-side and sea-side) with furniture on both sides making it easier to share. Everything in the room was newer and in good condition. Federico was a great host, meeting us at the train station and providing a great orientation to Vernazza and the Cinque Terre.

I hope you are in great shape; the property is up ~ 2 flights of stairs to get to the front door, and then another 3 or 4 flights (with a circular staircase) to the room and 1 more flight to the roof deck — but worth the effort! Checking out at the fish shop in a different part of town was odd, but added to the unique experience.

the steep stairs!! Hard to locate initially. . also we felt that it would be nice to have something besides sheer curtains on the bedroom window as neighbor’s patio is right outside the window. A thicker fabric or blinds would help with privacy.

Superb

the hotel is in a great location and although there are steps to get there (like everywhere in cinque terre) its not that bad and the owners help you with luggage. The rooms have modern facilities, good showers and a really comfortable bed/pillows.

My only gripe would be the room temperature. The ac unit is right next to the bed so becomes too cold pretty quickly but without it the room gets really hot at night. In the end we slept with window open which solved problem.

La Polena is a unique, beautiful hotel with amzing views of Vernazza.

The views from our suite and the rooftop terrace were unbelievable. It is hard to imagine a more beautiful place and location. One of the owners, Virginia, met us at the train station. Not only did she guide us to the hotel, but she carried out bags. She is a beatiful person, inside and outl.

Classic Cinque Terre Apartment, in ideal location with wonderful views.

Picture perfect view of Vernazza beach. Quaint, charming rooms, centrally located in Vernazza, well appointed and efficient use of small space. Roof-top terrace offers wonderful views and great to enjoy dawn/ dusk. Heads-up for the uninitiated, as generally the case in Le Cinque Terre, there are LOTS of stairs to climb to make it to the Emerald or Sapphire suite, so be prepared for that and travel as light as possible. Hosts Frederico & Virginia are wonderful and super-helpful, and assist with carry8ng the heavy luggage to your room, but always better to travel lighter, if possible.

Unforgettable experience that is well worth the effort it takes to stay there.

The views! Large, well furnished and decorated space. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. He met us at the train station and carried our bags up to our room.

It’s not that we didn’t like it, but you just need to be aware of what you are getting into by staying in Cinque Terre. Everything is up, and it’s usually stone steps that can be tricky to navigate. People with mobility issues beware. I’m not in the greatest shape, but with some effort I did fine. Make sure there is someone to help with your luggage. Well worth the effort. The most incredible place.

Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and would highly recommend La Polena Camere Vernazza.

The views from our room and the upper balcony were beautiful. We could hear the waves from the Mediterranean Sea and it was so peaceful. The location was great and the Sapphire Suite was perfect.

A few minor details were missed, but were addressed accordingly when brought to the owner’s attention.

The size of the bed was too short and uncomfortable. The air condition was too low for the whole room so who was sleeping in the bunk bed was literally boiling

Very nice apartment with beautiful views

We were welcomed by a very friendly host who helped carry our really heavy suitcases (travelled on for ten days in Tuscany!). Quite a challenge to reach the apartment but the view (especially from the rooftop terrace) is absolutely worth it.

Very beautiful room at the center of Vernazza. The room was very big and clean. The host was very friendly.

The breakfast is located at a nearby cafe and was a bit limited. Also, the staff of this cafe was not very friendly, but this has nothing to do with the staff of the accommodation.

Breathtaking views of the ocean and Cinque Terre from a Vernazza rooftop.

We stayed at the Sapphire suite, which had an incredible view of the ocean, and almost private access to the terrace, which was breathtaking.

Some instances of communication with the hosts were not ideal, leading to unexpected waits/confusion, but it did not affect our stay negatively.
