Everything!
The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special for our honeymoon. We liked it so much we stayed a third night in a different room. They made the bed with rose petals and had champagne waiting. The toiletries and scents were divine. The whole thing is an experience! We hardly left period. Loved going to the restaurant each night as well, which was reasonably priced in my opinion.
Maybe I'm biased, but I think the whole place has a special energy to it. They Mayans didn't build a temple nearby for no reason.

Overall style and design was elegant and great - it felt remote and adventurous but still luxurious. The aromas of the perfumes definitely add an extra layer to the experience. The main pool had a very original design and the service was excellent.
We liked everything, if we had to give any critique it would be that the food was good but not amazing.

The hotel is beautiful.
The area was invaded by mosquitoes but the rooms didn't have mosquito netting around the beds nor spray for the guests. I forgot my glasses in my room, which was very dark, and the staff never really looked for them when I called to ask this. The pool looked much larger in the photos.

The location on the lake was lovely, the aetheric was great.
No separation of toilet and bedroom - no door, curtain, or anything! The toilet is directly in the room!!!! Why did they do this ?!
The staff are nice but very inexperienced. It's like the place was setup by someone who knew what they were doing but it's been left to interns to run.
The staff have very limited knowledge at hand of the key sites in the area or any practical information.
Transfers etc were very expensive through them. Ended up going else where.

Very unique place!!! Expensive but I understand why... I had a great time here... I felt like I stayed in a Mayan castle (or pyramid)... It was a very UNIQUE experience... Thank you for making it so... Oh I accidentally took the safe key when I checked out... They were very gracious and understanding... I was able to FedEX back to them in a couple of days..

an absolute GORGEOUS property for people who are interested in interior design and nature.
Impeccable taste and stunning grounds - we stayed in the Jungle Villa and had a private pool, not heated but warm enough. The Villa is beautifully decorated - its super spacious and comfortable.
Lovely staff - everybody is very helpful, friendly and warm.
Food is amazing - they have a very talented chef - you wouldn't expect it from such a small hotel but it's haute cuisine in Coba- you will be grateful for this as there are not many other good restaurants.
Room was very clean and it smells divine everywhere because the also have their ow Coqui Coqui perfume shop.
The nature that surrounds the hotel is amazing- so many birds!
LOVED IT.
it says 2 bedrooms but the layout is really for 2 people.

A hidden gem BEYOND just words
Coqui Coqui is a hidden gem boutique perfumery, hotel & spa that has all the modern conveniences set in an other worldly time. Its positioned with a lakefront view in the quaint & charming town of Coba just walking distance from the Mayan ruins, a few kilometers from 3 Cenotes, & close to a chocolate & honey tour.
At reception, the host kindly offers your choice of scents for your own personalized liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner to use during your stay.
We were mind blown with our 2 story villa which had an upstairs master bed & bath with 2 verandas, a changing room with private staircase down to a shower and tub. The lower level had 2 beds with individual bathrooms & verandas for our teenagers along with an outdoor stone plunge pool. This of course became our daily coffee, breakfast, lunch family hangout area!
Jose took excellent care in serving us exquisite chef prepared cuisine for breakfast, lunch & dinners. Every morning & evening he brought knowledge, smiles, singing & energy to the experience.
The spa is phenomenal & unlike any other we have experienced. We opted for the 3hr couples treatment with a full body sugar scrub, honey treatment wrap & massage with a relaxing flower petal herb & coconut milk bath at the end.A hidden gem BEYOND just words

Different Wifi for every room and area and the wifi was spotty. The poverty surround is very real and we would love to have known how to support more local establishments. The roads in and out are not great.

The property is exactly as I pictured it to be, beautiful and picturesque! The spa was amazing, the treatment was one of the best I’ve had, and the products and fragrances are top!
The air conditioning is not very strong so it feels a bit warm, but I slept fine.
