Pasable

Los dueños son muy atentos y tratan de resolverte todos los problemas. Si te quedas más de 2 días, hay servicio de habitación día por medio, es muy útil.

Tuvimos varios problemas. En la recepción no hay gente, te dicen que es 100% digital pero luego de que ya reservaste. Eso hace que si se te adelanta un vuelo, no podes entrar porque van a recibirte a la hora que dijiste. Además una amiga quedó afuera 1 hora porque le dijeron que para entrar tocara el timbre y nunca la atendieron (tuvo que esperar a que llegáramos nosotras). Otras veces hemos tenido problemas para entrar porque el sistema de las llaves funciona con WiFi y se desconectaba. Los dueños fueron atentos y al otro día de que mi amiga quedó afuera le regalaron chocolates (muchas gracias!), pero es un sistema poco cómodo que nunca haya nadie en recepción y tengas que gestionar todo por WhatsApp. Las habitaciones son muy básicas. Los colchones hundidos, mantas insuficiente. Nos tuvieron que cambiar de habitación una vez porque la cisterna andaba mal y la tranca de la puerta también, y a la habitación que nos pasaron no le alcanzaba el calefactor y pasamos frío (lo subieron cuando les pedimos pero no fue suficiente). Los implementos de cocina son pocos, por ejemplo solo había 1 cuchara chica. Los dueños siempre nos solucionaron lo antes que pudieron igual, eso es lo único que los salva. Es caro para lo que ofrecen.

Cordial pero incómodo

La ubicación y el servicio de José y Sole es excelente. Muy atentos y cordiales. Tienen un grupo de WhatsApp donde indican actividades disponibles junto al precio y pueden llamar a un remis en caso de querer ir al aeropuerto o algún punto de actividad.

Se escuchaba caminar a los de arriba mientras que retumbaba la pared. Deben aclarar a los huéspedes que hagan silencio ya que a las 6:00am los de al lado se despertaron cantando un feliz cumpleaños y tuvimos que salir a callarlos. Las almohadas carecen de relleno y la limpieza cuando recibimos el cuarto no era óptima. Desde el momento uno que vimos suciedad en el baño y en el piso. Nosotros pedimos que no limpien por un tema de privacidad, pero tendría que estar limpio desde el primer momento. Otro punto a aclarar es que hacen recargo del 10% con tarjeta y lo indican cuando ya reservaste la habitación y no podés cancelar sin pagar la multa. Estaría bueno que lo aclaren antes.

good location, friendly staff.

just one main problem that ruined the stay: the bathrooms are disgusting. I don’t think they were cleaned once. the air vent leaks dirty roof water on you every time you use the bathroom. the toilet seat is so broken it completely falls off. there was crusted faeces on the lid of the bin and what looked like urine on the floor. there was hair everywhere: blocking the shower drain, all over the floor, stuck to the toilet and in the sink. the bathroom stayed in that same condition our entire stay.

You can use the kitchen to cook your meals, the location was near downtown, which was 15 mins walk, clean and nice room.

The upstairs room got super cold at night. The heater doesn't seem to work enough to keep the room warm.

We expected better rooms based on the photos provided

Good location, not to far from the main street. Good coffee machine that you can purchase tokens to use. Decent kitchen and supplies for cooking.

Showers were only warm for about 5-10 seconds, then turned very cold. Walls are super thin. We could hear everything from the rooms in the hall, and we were woken up at 5am every day due to others getting ready in the rooms nearby. It was impossible to get a good night's sleep.

could be more flexible for the checkout rules

well equipped kitchen to prepare food, good heater

bad sound proof as I can hear snoring from the room next to us. you can’t stay in even common area after check out but you can leave your luggage there since they said someone is going to clean the whole hostel soon. I don’t understand the conflicts. we forced to leave with luggage as we don’t want to walk back from city centre to hostel again as our destination is bus station which is the opposite direction

brilliant value for money

I was so happily surprised by the quality of this accommodation. For such a low price I didn’t expect much but it was actually very comfortable and impeccably clean. lovely hosts and a good kitchen. laundry service was also very useful.

the stairs to get to the hostel from the Main Street. The place isn’t lit up at night and doesn’t feel entirely safe (nothing happened though, it just wasn’t a very nice walk)

Cheap, but poor facities.

Affordable rate in overpriced El Calafate. Centrally located, friendly staff.

The room was a bit too small, two beds only, nothing else. There are too few shared bathrooms/toilets for too many guests, and they're not very clean. Poor maintenance of rooms and building.

Really great stay, close to town, super clean place, good kitchen facilities, staff were friendly and helpful.

The room we were in bordered on the kitchen and bathroom so was a little noisy.

Lovely Hostel

Lovely hostel. Clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. My private room was small but functional and the bed was extremely comfortable. Kitchen is decent. Bathrooms small but fine. Would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Nothing bad to say really other than there is no area to sit and meet other travellers except for the kitchen so if you are looking for a busy hostel to meet up with others it may not be the place for you.

Ok for a Short stay in el Calafate

Good kitchen, clean rooms, quiet area, decent WiFi; staff will help book taxis, restaurants etc

The walls are incredibly thin - even conversations can be heard easily & it’s super noisy when people leave early in the morning.

The kindest staff, a lovely stay

Lovely clean, cozy place with all the facilities you could need for a great stay in El Calafate. Very close to the Main Street, lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond for us, we were so grateful and will always appreciate the help they gave us. Muchas gracias

Lovely staff. Nice shared common area and kitchen. Comfortable and very warm rooms. Nice distance from the main strip of the town.

Only 2 shared bathrooms for whole place and sometimes got a bit dirty.
