The property is a tractive, stylish. The restaurant is easily accessible downstairs.
Upon arrival, they could not find my booking reservation, and my daughter and I were forced to stand at the check-in counter for a crazy long amount of time while they said they would give us a room but would charge us, while we had already paid booking and been charged in full by booking. They had no one to contact at booking and told us that we should book directly with the hotel in the future. We had no one we could speak to at booking. They were offering us the same rate, but said I would need to pay all over again. Meanwhile, the booking account showed that everything was fine. At almost 11 o’clock at night they called our room to tell us they had found the booking reservation in their system, under a computer coded name, and apologized for the inconvenience. They offered us free breakfast, however the confusion, the anxiety of not knowing if we had a room, being told we would be charged double, was all exasperating and unfortunate. The person checking us in did not have the authority to help us, so we had to wait for someone to arrive who could put the situation at ease. Very frustrating. This makes me wonder if we should use booking in the future.

The location was perfect with this hotel. It was right in between The Corner/UVA and Downtown Charlottesville. The staff was nice and helpful. They answered any questions we had and they always seemed happy when speaking with you.
Trip started off to a bad start with us waiting an hour after check-in for our room when only being told it would take 25 minutes. If we were staying for multiple days, it wouldn't be an issue, but we were only there for a day and had a lot to do in a short period of time.
And on top of that we were given an Accessible King Suite instead of the standard King Suite. We reserved the room on May 22nd, and they still managed to overbook all the rooms we were meant to receive. The bathroom was different and worse than what we wanted due to it being accessible. The view from this room was horrible and not as advertised. We had a view of the tops of buildings and power lines out of all of the windows. This suite being on the lowest floor possible (Suites start on the 5th floor and go all the way up to the 10th floor) only makes me wonder if we would've gotten a better view if they didn't overbook and we received the standard king suite we paid for. There was a very large dark red/brown stain on the sheets and blankets upon arrival. The staff did call to get the entire bedding replaced in a timely manner. All the tables and the bed frame were very dusty. I also took a peek into the AC unit, and it was BEYOND dusty. A thick layer of dust covered the inside of the unit. For $550 for a 1-night stay, I expected a lot more from this hotel room. In hindsight, I should've just booked a standard king room and saved some money since we didn't receive any positives of having a suite. I will probably never book with this hotel again.

Location, room size, cleanliness, design of room and furniture.
No bellman. No reason my wife and I should have to unload our car. After expressing myself the front desk person did offer the services of the valet but by that time already unloaded. Upon checking out no bell service was available. Valet did assist in loading car.
The food in the restaurant is pure garbage. Deviled eggs were good, martini was minuscule, French chicken was dried out and tasteless, Turkey club was described as freshly oven roasted-not so-just some cheap deli turkey roll.
Also thought it was tacky trying to sell upgraded internet for 10 dollars per day. Free internet was fine as was my cellular speed.
Overall you have a very good -property with amateur management.
Currently staying at Courtyard in Lancaster which is another nice property but was informed upon checkin that they don’t have housekeeping service.

So many things to love! Great location, no need to rent a car, walked everywhere. The Restaurant in the hotel!!!! We ate there 5 times in 3 days. Southern cuisine done right!!!! The bar knows what they’re doing too. Our room was very clean, well purposed and best of all…..quiet! Definitely will stay here Everytime we come to Charlottesville! Can’t speak highly enough and I’m a pickle to please

Breakfast was good but service slow. Great locatuion. Clean comfy rooms.
Front desk was in a shambles. Couldn't check in at 2 pm, which was okay, but when I came back later they said my queen room (2 queen beds) was gone and that I would have to take a king. But couldn't do that bc of travel with my business colleague. The front desk was very cagey but as I started to note that this was unacceptable for anyone (and esp a Bonvoy level like mine), the person went to the front desk manager and got us 2 king rooms--at first they tried to charge me for 2 rooms but eventually made it right and split my 1 room cost across two king rooms. BUT next morning at check out more rigmarole about how that billing arrangement cannot be done without a manager etc until I had to note a manger must have approved the night before. In any event, a real mess at front desk.

Very central. Nice rooms. very nice staff.
The doors are heavy and noisy and bang all hours of day and night. Awful if trying to nap and rooms are being cleaned

We were unaware that we had to pay a valet charge to park the car and my husband tried to give the valet service a five dollar tip and he was highly offended that the system charged him $1.50 extra for the convenience of providing the tip electronically.
In this day of Covid very few people travel with lots of cash, and I always appreciate the ability to use my card as does he but charging a service charge on something such as a tip for a needy employee who works hard, for the business was highly offensive to both of us.
When we drove away, we said we would never come back

The hotel was sold out for the weekend, but not enough staff were working. There were long lines for check-in and valet parking. Also the rooms were nice, but very small.
