Great location. Nice pub. Friendly staff
8.0
The room was lovely. It was nice to stay somewhere that had some thought put into personalising the rooms. All the staff we had contact with were friendly and helpful. The location was a perfect stop for us on our journey along the Thames Path and Goring a cosy little town to spend a bit of time in before setting off again.
Breakfast was tasty but could have been more generous. Missed the opportunity to have cereal, fruit, fruit juice, yoghurt and toast before the hot selection. Not a show stopper as the hot options we had were tasty (and honestly, sufficient) ... its just that when holidaying, you like that little bit extra.

Quirky, spacious, wonderfully decorated rooms with everything a family could need for a pleasant one night stay. The staff couldn’t be more attentive. The food was delicious. Lived staying here.

Excellent stay from the moment we arrived. Rooms very nicely decorated and comfortable with everything you need, lovely bathroom with roll top bath. Breakfast was delicious and we had lunch and drinks the day before which was also very nice. Lovely pub with a nice cosy feel. Very friendly staff and owner.

Our room had a bath with a shower over it. This worked perfectly as we were cycling long distances. The food was excellent and the staff brilliant and attentive. Lovely low bed
There was a bit of confusion over breakfast menu stating we could only choose one option. Apparently that is if you are not a guest. The confusion was rectified by the staff member stating guests can eat as much as they like.

Delicious full breakfast We we’re attentively looked after by the owner herself, A very tastefully arranged breakfast room with art pictures on the walls Enjoyed a refreshing drink of real ale at a very friendly bar the evening of our arrival Enjoyed chat about Irish language with the owner of this inn
No parking on site but available close by Obtained very helpful directions from bar staff leader

location
we were positioned above the bar. it was extreemly loud - we could hear the conversations in the bar. then music came on until 12.30/1am

Convenient location. Bar staff friendly
We had one of the suites on the second floor. Staircase was very steep which might pose a problem for some people.
Bar menu limited. Breakfast very disappointing. No juice or cereal offered. Coffee was instant. No fruit offered.

Lovely town and breakfast good
We booked a standard double room for two and the bed wasn’t even a double - it was inbetween a single and double. When the two of us got in it the slats all came away from the bed frame and we had a terrible nights sleep.

really lovely pub with great atmosphere the rooms were quirky and lovely.
the mattress was really really firm and made sleep a bit suboptimal.
also the breakfast was really lovely, but it was let down by there not being juices, cereals, fruit etc out to help yourself to. just ordering if a hot breakfast and coffee/tea. small niggles I know but would have made experience better.

Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Room 14 was on top floor.
Window would not open enough to allow plenty of fresh air. Fortunately it was not too warm on my visit, but in summer would be miserable.
Light would not work in shower area, so I was unable to shower. I tried all four of the wall switches ( including one that had a misleading label by it ) to no avail.
Gap between toilet and shower cubicle was about 11 inches. Hopeless!
Almost impossible to access one side of the bed ( which had the bedside reading lamp ) due to TV attached to the wall with numerous wires hanging down. I would imagine H&S would not be impressed.
Toilet took about 10 minutes to refill tank after one flush. This was surprising as water pressure was fine in the sink.

Traditional old pub but stylish. Lunchtime meal excellent.
Problems with heating room, radiator not working. No information for guests in room as to how heating works.
Requested breakfast at 8.30. Pub still in darkness and locked up when I went down. Chef rushed in at 8.25 to cook my breakfast. 7am management staff failed to turn up, management staff due to turn up at 8.30 arrived late.
Manager argumentative and unhelpful when I voiced my complaints.

Nothing, all great

Lovely decor in the room, charming and original. We had a nice view of the park. Very kind and friendly staff. Excellent choices of breakfast. They also have the nicest Chardonnay I have ever tasted.
For some reason on booking.com it only allowed me to book my room with single occupancy. As there were two of us I booked 2 rooms, only to find that I could have had 2 people in that room. That cost me £90.
