Wonderful location. Had everything we needed including breakfast supplies.

The open fire with free wood. Wildlife around the property.
The wifi would drop out, which is a Halls Gap issue. The provisions provided were very basic.

Beautifully appointed villa, very comfortable large bed, good breakfast provisions and a very welcome wood fire on a cold night. Lovely grounds to walk in before dinner.

Marwood is set in a peaceful surrounding, with space between villas for privacy. The villas are well-equipped, comfortable and perfect for a break from hustle and bustle. We've stayed there three times, now, because we love it.
If I had to pick something as a negative (I'm struggling, but), a slightly larger television might be better. While lying in bed watching the tele, my aging eyes struggled slightly. But, this is such a small negative that is vastly outweighed by the positives.

On the positive side, and the saving grace for our stay, was the location. It was just outside of town, but close enough to walk or bike. The grounds were very well maintained with lots of kangaroos and birds to watch and listen to. And it was a quiet area which we appreciated.
This may be the only negative review I have ever written, but the situation warrants it. We were disappointed with Marwood. We stayed in Villa 5 and arrived to find leaves and other bits of dirt on the floor both in the unit and in the indoor/outdoor room where the grill was located.
We had to sweep both floors before using the areas and there was a lot in the dustpan when we finished. The table and other surfaces in the outdoor room needed to be wiped down and inside we found the stove hood vent to be greasy and grimy, and many surfaces beyond the table and bedside tables to be very dusty. An example was the shelf with the TV on it in the bedroom. There was so much dust on the base of the TV and shelf it was easy to write a message of “dust me” in the dust.
There were at least two places where the couch upholstery in the living area had holes. The plastic wicker chairs in the indoor/outdoor room had many pieces on the arms and back which had broken and caught on our clothes.
The outdoor furniture was not usable. Two chair seats were rusted and the lounge chair was so dirty it was obvious it hadn’t been wiped down for months. The table was tired out too.
None of this is expected or acceptable in an accommodation that is listed as luxury. We texted the owner and he responded quickly saying someone would come rectify the problems. Not quite. They did provide other old but functional chairs for the outside area. But that was the extent of their responsive action.
In our six weeks of traveling in Australia, Marwood was one of the highest priced rentals we stayed in BUT it didn’t compare well to numerous others that were spotlessly clean, with nice furnishings and always a comfortable and clean seating area outdoors. It is too bad because Marwood’s location and grounds were top notch and with a little more care, some deep cleaning and some investments in replacing tired out furniture the Villa 5 would have been great.

The grounds had many Kangaroo's and Wallabies grazing. The fire place in the cottage. Good WiFi. Good quality bed linen. Very private.

Log burner was brilliant. Really helped to set the ambience and take the chill off
Villa 5 ready for a refurb. Elegant, but faded

Easy to get to. Good facilities. Wildlife on the front door.
Just needed a little more attention to detail from the staff

Everything went well. Owner even sent me my pillow back to my home with no charge.
I wish I could have stayed longer.

Lovely rooms, excellent location, very peaceful but close to town
Not as clean as we were led to believe, although it wasn't by any means disgusting. Advertised as having water running through lounge room but this didn't work.

This was the highlight of our national trip. Absolutely stunning villa in the Grampians with wildlife aplenty.

It was so quiet and peaceful, the kangaroos outside were lovely and looking out the back window at the Grampians National Park was gorgeous.
The sofa was a bit soft for me but everything else was very comfy and stylish.

Marwood is a slice of heaven. Walks, roos, birds and the villas are wonderful. No where wise i woulds rather stay in the Grampians. Quiet, apart from the cockys, idesl couple's getaway.
Can't fault it.

location and it had everything we needed for a weekend stay
the window massively leaked when it rained

The shower was huge with natural light and two shower heads. The bath was also outstanding. We stopped after a long drive and the jets were incredibly soothing to our muscles! Fun, quirky little place with beautiful surrounds.
