Perfect location at the heart of the Grampians, only a short stroll away to the center of Halls Gap, and within walking distance to must-do hike trails. Conveniently, the bus stop is a mere few metres away for those travelling V-Line/Coach - carpark available on site too.
My room was spacious, cozy, peaceful, clean and lovely, and the bed was really comfy so I slept like a rock - exactly what I needed for my stay.
The hospitality well exceeded my expectations; add in a shared BBQ area and a cute backyard, topped off with the best night sky views in town. What’s not to love?
Thank you Tony and David for a wonderful stay, I hope to return soon!

Excellent staff very welcoming. Great location and very relaxing.
Nothing everything was taken care of.

Although an older room, it was clean and the facilities were excellent
maybe a facelift of the motel in the long term

Close to town of Halls Gap, although still had to drive at night. Quiet location at the back. Lots of DVDs to watch as TV reception poor. Hosts friendly with regular communication each day. Room well organised. Bed comfortable. Shower good. Kangaroos grazing behind our room daily.
Limited bench space around microwave, jug and toaster. Room large but limited luggage storage.

Neat, clean, all essential amenities available.

Easy assess to the hiking trails that lead to Pinnacle and other lookouts in Grampians National Park. Having our car parked right in front of our room is an added advantage.
The facilities inside the room and the kitchenette (apparently converted from a standard room) have seen their glory day. Couple of the stoves are not working, the cooking pan & pot were dirty.
The front roll of the hotel rooms is facing C222 main road, it could be noisy whenever the car / truck passing by.
The hotel's contactless policy somehow made the place very cold and distanced.

Exactly what you would expect for the cost in the area, Staff were lovely and very helpful.
The only down side is that the showers are water saver heads (which is a good this, but it was a little too small a spray area), the water pressure was lacking and with the smaller shower head, it felt a little like a having to run around the shower to get wet.

Great location, good value
Bathroom was very old. Clean on the surfaces you touched but mould on the ceiling. Bit gross.

The location was brilliant, not far from things to do.
A nice quiet relaxing place to stay.
The staff were very friendlyand kind and very helpful.
The room was spacious and very comfortable.
The only thing I didn’t like was the wooden bar thing above the bed that was on the wall as we kept hitting our heads on it.

Stayed for two nights. Great affordable accommodation Kelly and David made us feel very welcome. The room had everything we needed and it was a nice walk to the centre. Halls Gap is a very special place, as is the Gariwerd Motel. We were very sad to leave.
There wasn't anything we disliked

Clean and spacious room. Amazing location close to halls gap town centre and walks. Room has microwave and tea making facilities, and also has a small tv and DVD player which is great for having move nights.

The room was basic for the price but it was great to have our puppy with us. Linen was nice, hot water plentiful and hot, bed comfy, heater hot, TV reception and free wifi all good. David and Kelli were very pleasant when we saw them as it was mainly contactless. The Victorian long weekend was busy and very wet but we were happy in our motel.
Bathroom could do with an update.
Carpet could be replaced by vinyl as pet friendly.

The staff were amazing. We would received a message each day from one of the staff, to make sure our stays were comfortable & to contact them if we require any assistance. The location was perfect, walking distant to town centre.
Maybe, check under the beds when cleaning because we've found an empty water bottle and some scraps. But overall, we were very satisfied with our stay.

The toilet door didn’t shut but there was a bathroom door as well so not a huge deal

We were really pleased with our stay and found our room spacious, comfortable and clean. Perfect to come back to after a day hiking and exploring the beautiful Grampians. Greatly appreciated the very thorough overview of the area/walking trails with reception upon arrival; lots of useful local tips.

Flat panel TV very small but OK.

Friendly, helpful staff. Comfy room and great location.
3.5
Location was great, a gorgeous walk to all the town amenities and walk tracks, staff very attentive, a very affordable option.
Not a criticism but a comment- Ask for any kitchen items (chopping boards etc) or toiletries (face flannels, shampoo etc) from reception. We didn’t realize how many extra items were available until we checked out
